Linda Lavin performs Some People from Gypsy

Linda Lavin is an amazing actor whom I have followed for 35 years. I was pleased to see her live on four occasions (1980, 1981, 1982 and 2001). Gypsy will go down as one of her best, I'm sure.

I saw her in D.C. in Follies and she lit up the stage! I wish I had seen her full performance in Gypsy! She really looks like she nailed it. A lot of people seem to have not been too fond of her interpretation, but if this clip is any indication, she seemed to have been terrific.

I saw her yesterday at the Kennedy Center. She wowed the audience with Broadway Baby. She was my favorite. She shared the stage with lots of ladies including B. Peters (hum drum) and Jan Maxwell (excellent)!!!! Go, Linda!

I completely agree! She seemed wonderful in the role. I don't understand all the hate she's gotten over the years!

I cannot thank you enough for posting this! Despite the questionable arrangement and contrived setting, it suggests the actual performance enough that it triggered many wonderful memories. My greatest appreciation--to you and Ms. Lavin!

You are SO welcome! I discovered this on one of my grandmother's old tapes and thought it was pretty awesome. I think Linda actually did a really great job.

Also, thank YOU for posting the sound clips. I just wish there was more in terms of both sound and video documentation of her performance.
