if ever a song was written about my ex-wife, this is it. just wish i would have heard the wisdom of the song when it was released and i was 13 yrs old. lol
I think they both put it out as a single, with different b-sides and different pictures, but only Philip Bailey had this studio version on an album. Phil Collins put out a live version on an album in the 90's.
Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey. For those wondering about the connection, both were the drummers and vocalists for their bands (Collins for Genesis, Bailey for Earth, Wind and Fire), and starting in 1981 Genesis had been having the EWF horn section back them up on some songs for the album Abacab (for example, No Reply at All). The fantastice guitar work is done by Daryl Stuermer (sp?), the touring guitarist for Genesis.
Since the first time I saw this video (as Say Say Say with Paul McCartney and Michael "yummy"Jackson), I always loved Afro-Chocolate and English Vainilla. And nope, I'm not an easy lover. In fact I'm still a virgin. LOL
I looked them up and yeah I guess I have heard some of their songs and didn't know who they where. I actually like the September song, I never knew who sang it.
I think you missed my point. Sure there's a few random women standing in the background in like 2 shots in the whole video, but they are never the focus of the shot. This video is very strange, it's basically just a compilation of behind the scenes shots of them having fun and has nothing to do with what the lyrics are about, just not a very creative video at all. It could have been good if there was a hot woman with some kind of story that loosely follows the theme.
@jacobleb420 Phil Colins, brilliant as he is, is also politically correct and an extreme leftist. Like most artists, he lacks any contact with the real world, and still believes in the promised "ideal society" leftist bullcrap.
Hence all the "racial solidarity" themes in his videos.
I will always be glad that I born in '78. Got to hear and witness so many great and not so great music genres. (803) Richland County, Columbia, SC.

It's funny how the song is about a woman obviously, yet you never see one in the whole video! Just Phil Collins running around with a black guy...

@jacobleb420 because of Philip Bailey's voice, this songs becomes really good.
you can check the concerts without his voice, it's like something is missing from the song.
