  • This has always been 1 of my favorite songs, like a hidden gem. It says all those words we find it hard to say when ourselves try to pray.

  • In all of their success, they found time to humble themselves and give Almighty God the glory through the gift in wich God had given them. This song is so beautiful and inspirational, and what I like about it is, that it hits U deep in the spirit, it moves U to praise and worship God. A timeless gospel classic.

  • This is for all who liked the Atlanta DJ Youngblood, who played this song occasionally on his Saturday morning show on KISS104, well "HE'S BACK", he returned August 20, 2011. As I suspected, their ratings dropped significantly, and they received plenty of angry listeners backlash over the unfair treatment of Youngblood, so sensible reasoning prompted them to ask Youngblood to return, an I'm positive he got the raise that he originally asked for, we have the power to make changes, yes we do...

  • I too am a FAN...Love this song and would Like the written Lyrics...anybody? post or send email to oleskulemc@yahoo.com...Thanks!

  • No, dear faithful4...these brothers have not, to my knowledge, "turned from Jesus". In fact, Mr. Gamble (Bro. Luqman Abdul-Haqq) is a well-known activist and developer in his native South Philadelphia, building schools, businesses and housing for a badly underserved community. He does this in what I have personally observed to be a humble and kind spirit. Mr. Huff continues to be a fixture on the Philadelphia/New Jersey charity scene, using his considerable celebrity and talent to uplift us!

  • Would anybody post the lyrics please? I got some words of, but afraid for not have skill to do it right and clearly like it really is...

  • The old WJMI in Jackson, MS used to play this every Sunday Morning before a live church service. This music can make you miss those days.

  • A truly inspirational album with a deep and healing message in the music. Am glad that the O Jays visited South Africa in 1980 and my wife and I went to see them( we were still dating then). She requested the song.

  • One of my many favorite songs by The O'Jays. Gamble and Huff were just the perfect writers during the 70's. If you listen to their songs..they mean as much in the 21st century as the 20th.

  • This one is so good, love me some O'Jays, they don't receive enough credit for being the R&B legends that they are. Their versatility is tremendous, dance tracks, love making tracks, and tracks that send chills up and down your spine, and helps to elevate your spirituality, like this one, this is certainly timeless 70's music, from one of the finest R&B trio's in music history, hands down...

  • Im 35yrs old and I grew up listening to this song. Its one from the OLD SCHOOL! with the POWER of the OLD ONES ( The Warriors For Jesus Christ ). To say the least it gives me Fuel to keep Pressing On Twards The MARK of the High Calling In Christ Jesus. Just as they did back then, yeah they had their HANG UPs but the still fought to the bitter END... AMEN?....AMEN.

  • tentilemayaba@yahoo.com

  • Very beautiful song equal to the commodores jesus is love.

  • this song make want to put back on amour and fight satins kids

  • Thank Thank Thank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My favorite part, and let your Holy Spirit, walk across the waters of my mind. Oh, thank you Jesus. How could Gamble and Huff turn from Jesus, with lyrics like that?

  • @faithful4 my favorite part @4:53 down on my knees i pray somtime i walk around and i pray..............sometime i lay on my back and i pray and i praaaaaaaaay...............................my favorite song .........god is good....thank you god for blessing me and everybody else...thank you!!!!!!!!!

  • @faithful4 MINES TOO, AND THE NEXT VERSE = I WANNA MAKE YOU PROUD OF WHAT YOU DONE, SO I COME TO YOU THRU YOUR SON..

THE WHOLE SONG DOES MY HEART GOOD!!

  • @faithful4 Dear Friend, I know Mr. Gamble, and have met Mr. Huff on numerous occasions. Neither of these fine gentlemen have "turned from Jesus" to my knowledge. Mr Huff remains an active citizen in the Phila/NJ community, and Mr Gamble is today known as Luqman Abdul Haqq, a prominent Muslim philanthropist and businessman. One cannot accept Islam without acknowledging Jesus as Messiah, so he could not have "turned from" Jesus. Let us enjoy their inspired music, and serve God as brothers!

  • @faithful4 All music, all creativity is from The Holy Spirit. I think that you are inccorrect in your statement that Gamble and Huff turned from Jesus to do r&b music. All things, music, cars, food, shelter, comes to us from The Father(God), through The Son(Jesus), so no matter what songs they gave us from soul and r&b, they did good

  • Classic performance by the mighty O'Jays! Can you post some lyrics? Thanks!- Shawn

  • This will always remind me of my childhood. My mum always played this tune amongst others when getting ready to go do her nightshift. O'jays, Harold Melvin, Millie Jackson, Idris Mohammed etc etc. Such a smooth tune!!

  • The very Best!!!!

  • @rgstennet Thanks so much! Happy New Year 2010!

  • To praise God's name, because the devil is the cause for all the wrong.

  • Thank you NycePix, I had the LP back in 1976, Gamble @ Huff TSOP music. A very deep song that makes you stop and think consciously.

  • This is one of those rare song from The O'jays you don't hear on the radio too often;other than the previous person said it's played on the radio on saturday morning in Atlanta Thank you for uploading this.

  • can you tell me on which station please? Thanks!

  • My favorite, line is and "Let your Holy Spirit walk across the waters of my mind. Wow, what lyrics. Thank you Jesus. They need to sing this one on tour.

  • One of the O'Jays best. We have a DJ who comes on the radio in Atlanta only on Sat mornings who plays this song every time someone famous dies or something tragic happens across the nation. Thanks for uploading.

  • I agree totally! One of their best. A DJ named Chico The Virgo in Miami would play this every Sunday night at 11pm when I was growing up in the 80's. It took me forever to find this song and I had to put it on YouTube. Thanks for the comment.

  • @Minksugar i was in ATL yest and he played it i had never heard it b4

  • @Minksugar That DJ in Atlanta is YOUNGBLOOD!!! AND I LOVE IT WHEN HE PLAYS IT. 104.1 FM All Saturday morning...best show in the nation!!!! :-) Go Atlanta! I can listen to this song all day and all night...

  • @Minksugar Yep, Youngblood is that DJ that plays it on his show on Saturdays.

  • @Minksugar Youngblood

  • @Minksugar Youngblood is the DJ

  • @40tracym - Sadly, in April of 2011, Kiss104.1 FM in Atlanta foolishly let Youngblood get away, they wanted him to take a pay cut, and he refused, so he resigned. I haven't hear any numbers, but I'll bet that the ratings have dropped significantly, he was an Atlanta radio icon, I very seldom listen to the station on Saturday mornings now, I know I'm not the only one who's chosen not to listen, Google him for the full story, it's a damn shame, smh...

  • This is one of my favorite songs. The CD is called Message in the Music. Not many people know this song, but it is a classic.

  • I sure didnt until I heard it on the radio a couple of weeks ago. This song has grown on me. THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING!

  • I take it you live in Miami 305. Back in the day Chico The Virgo used to play this every Sunday at 11pm on 99 Jams.

  • what is the name of this cd

  • This is one of my favorite songs. The CD is called Message in the Music. Not many people know this song, but it is a classic.

  • @NycePix this track reminds me of my late pops! he would play this every sunday wearing his GAP jeans short and flip-flops...nyce one man
