So, i've done a little bit of research because i've been having what feels like brain spasms and this is the shit that popped up. Does anyone know whether or not they will go away once I get these fuckers removed?
No, the burden of proof is on the dentists to prove it is safe not on others to prove it is unsafe. Don't believe me? Eat some cyanide, it's safe honest.
I got some amalgam fillings refilled with more amalgam and they put the removed fillings into triple-sealed Bio HazMat containers.
I asked why they treated my removed fillings like some toxic poison if the amalgam that Kaiser Permanente Dental uses is so "safe?"
They said once mercury is removed from my mouth it becomes an "inert" but lethal substance and State regulations requires containment of removed fillings triple-sealed Bio-Hazard containers to prevent it from leeching to the environment.
The World Health Organization has proven that the majority of mercury comes from amalgam fillings, this dentist they interview here is a total lair and sellout. Or maybe he's been breathing too much mercury vapor from all those fillings he's giving.
@TinyTimmySpeaks: "That is like saying a drug can be thrust upon the population without proper testing. We all know that to be false."
This statement is an incorrect one. Look at all the drugs that are placed on the market that do get recalled after killing numerous people or causing serious side effects. These results were not originally established or tested for before releasing them to the public. It is only after a set number of people get hurt do they consider that the drug is the cause.
For a sincere reply to @elcat9091: MS is believed to be caused by nerve damage to the myelin sheath. The cause of imflammation of the autoimmune attack is unknown. It's thought to be a virus. But, MS also contains genetically related components and have geographic factors. In other words all you need is damage to that myelin sheath to possibly put MS into action. Therefore, I do believe that the amalgam fillings could be an increased contributing factor, just like a virus or genetics.
while i don't disagree with the premise that amalgam fillings can cause a host of neurological and other diseases, how does Dr. Huggins respond to the claim that MS, for example, existed before widespread use of amalgam fillings? And how to say, for example, that patient X's MS was caused by amalgam fillings, but patient Y's was not? In effect, how is his claim productive for any single patient?
They said that the EPA has found it's safe. First, the EPA does not deal with amalgam fillings and also that it's not up to them to show it's safe, but for others to show it isn't safe. That's ridiculous. That is like saying a drug can be thrust upon the population without proper testing. We all know that to be false.
hopefully in the future, producers of amalgam fillings will be put in the same group as those companies who still manufacture and consider lead and asbestos to be safe. they all know its not, but as long as they can make a buck.....
i dont know why people argue in favor of mercury. its poison no matter what. even if it was safe in fillings there is still a miniscule chance that your doctor fucks it up. and people who are unaware are being poisoned for the rest of their life. there is always going to be the side that benefits from them by calling them safe, money is always the bottom line. its a cheaper way of doing things, they make the most profit that way.
There is no scientific evidence showing ANY amount of mercury inside your body is safe. Amalgam fillings is just the new version of the mad hatter who used to put mercury inside hats
Amalgam fillings can last for 20 or more years but the white(composite) fillings which are the best alternative to amalgam won't even last a third of the time and are more expensive to place.
Long story short: dentists will make more money if they place composite fillings because with composite they'll be doing more of them for a higher price. Money has nothing to do with this issue.
I am a rock climber & I climbed for 4 years with no injuries. The dentist filled my mouth with mercury and amalgam fillings and I stopped improving all together, injuries left & right, and I remember crying for over an hour before my injuries started...I was a wreck..God saved me, and I still want the amalgam out! half of the mercury in my face is gone now, as they recommend getting it removed slowly and every time I get some removed I can think so much better, & feel so much better!
NEW STUDY AGAIN CONFIRMING INJURY Industrial Health 2011, 49, 249–254
MERCURY INTOXICATION IN DENTISTS
Exposure to elemental mercury through amalgam dental fillings. Our findings indicate that occupational exposure of dentists to mercury, even at low levels, is associated With a significant increase in the prevalence of symptoms of intoxication.
I broke a large amalgam filling 2.5 years ago and a few months later started having muscle spasms, High Sugar levels, increasing days with brain-fog, ringing ears, migraines, Heart palpitations, weight and muscle loss (lost 30 pounds), sensitivity to light, Digestive problems, tingling fingers, skin was dry and looked bad, I felt like I was aging quickly, depression, worrisome, sleep was all screwed up. I thought I was dying. I had the tooth fixed with 5 other fillings and I'm improving slowly
my mom has worked in the hospital lab for a few decades. about 20 years ago, she said that the hospital would have here and her coworkers handle tubs filled with mercury with their bare hands. they would clean the mercury with their bare hands. she thinks they used clorox. they did this for at least 10 years. not one of them has had any health issues. we are exposed to mercury no matter what. it's VERY RARE for the small exposure in amalgams to cause bad health effects. PERIOD.
@forever1634 For starters, I do hope you are not saying that mercury is NOT dangerous for that has only been proven. What type of mercury was your mother handling? Also, does your mother still speak to ALL of the coworkers that handled this material 20 years ago?
@forever1634 From the CDC "However, should one be exposed to large amounts of mercury, factors such as the exposure dose, the duration of exposure, and the route of exposure (ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact) are all important in determining the risk to the individual." and "Different types of mercury have different effects on the body because they are metabolized differently."
The general consensus among scientific research is that amalgam does leach, but for a full mouth of amalgam fillings that amount per week would be less than one seafood meal.
Since there is no scientific evidence proving amalgam unsafe, it is accepted in the dental profession to do amalgam fillings, and to remove a perfect restoration of amalgam is unethical. To suggest to the patient that amalgams need to be removed is also unethical.
The person who invents a way to regrow teeth, will be a God Send!! and I have no doubt someone has already figured it out but was either bought out or had their life threatened if they expose it to the public! it's all about money and controlling the public. Shame on the Dental and Medical industry wanting to keep people sick. My Take... Doctors don't want you healthy or else you will not return to see them PERIOD!
@hydrobot2003 I completley agree. I know where u r coming from, they keep stuff from us and the whole system is corrupt anyway. especialy with the nwo that is coming in now.
i went into the military with perfect teeth, got sent to the gulf war, had a mandatory inspection, they probed and scratched my teeth around, 6 mo. later another mandatory inspection and poof! a lot of cavities? they drilled and filled teeth with huge pieces of metal, about 10 teeth worked on? Long story short... I came back with Gulf War Illness. I was a bodybuilder before the military. Now i am lucky to last 10 or 20 minutes in the gym? Still struggle today with aches and pains and health...
Dr. Huggins absolutely deserved to have his license revoked. He clearly doesn't know much about amalgam, physiology or dentistry for that matter. Any dentist who calls silver point root canal material "spike looking things" should not be practicing, nor be a spokesperson for mercury toxicity. Please inform yourself elsewhere on this topic.
All of these people who defend Amalgam fillings at first seem to imply that there is no leeching of the mercury and that their are no health risks. Mercury is the 2nd most toxic substance on this planet and they do accept that it does leech. I don't know if I'm the only person who sees that that doesn't make sense to deny quite high risks to a persons health. A dentist tried to get me to change my mind today because of the risks on the environment being so toxic to remove them!! Outrageous!!

I think I'll take my risks with the plastic toxicity which is the lesser evil IMO, rather than something known as the most toxic non-radioactive metal known to man, this ain't no joke folks, there are so many health problems associated with mercury poisoning, it's nearly impossible to determine whether or not this is the root problem, of course mainstream "Doctors-Dentists" are not gonna tell the truth or they will lose their job..such a beautiful poison no one is the wiser.
OK PAUSE 1:56 HE SAYS "ITS SAFE" NOW GO TO 2:22 NOW HE'S SAYING "WERE NOT SAYING THAT ITS SAFE" WHAT THE FUCK? WELL I CAN TELL YOU FROM EXPERIENCE THAT AMALGAM IS EXTREMELY BAD FOR YOU!
@aaronbrent84 have you noticed that all the people defending alalgam first say its safe then say its not completely safe......there's something very very wrong with this picture....frightening to think what these experts can do to us isn't it...
Time for people to wake up! The WHITE fillings are not good for you at all. They contain substances known to cause cancer. The silver fillings are proven to be safer, but still people are fooled by dentist who want to make more money. They will do so becouse white fillings are more expensive, and the brake more often, meaning you will have to go back. Your fillings gets bigger each time you go, and you will need expensive crowns. Stick to silver fillings, or learn the hard way!
@sh4p3shifter, no, I really wouldn't do anything hasty that u might regret. If you're fairly young, and you really want to replace your amalgams, then do it gradually, over the years. But make sure you go to a dentist that uses a rubber dam (to prevent you swallowing and inhaling mercury vapor and mercury particulates), high-powered suction, plenty of water, and preferably a nose mask with a supply of fresh oxygen - they may also cover your eyes.
@iluvelsa2004, NOT true. Stop listening to dentists. They r regurgitating old "facts". Dentists said amalgams DID NOT leach mercury - they were proved wrong in the 1970s. They carried out NO SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTS to support their assertion that amalgam does not leak mercury. Dentists are NOT qualified to discuss this matter, & do not care if they are wrong.
The only reason they used mercury in the first place was because, they said, the mercury didn't leach out, so 0% risk! THEY WERE WRONG!!
I`m still amazed at how well most people can function given their exposure to,not only mercury, but flouride(dental & drugs)chemical sweeteners,MSG,bisphenol A,chemtrail fallout(aluminum, barium, etc)I`m getting overwhelmed by what all i have to avoid.I may just kill myself, especially since industry and special interests always have the last word. Our regulatory agencies are worthless and are routinely bought and sold.
@IwontConform, if amalgams are harmful, it is likely, from what I've read - and taking a very conservative view - that only a minority of the population will be noticeably affected, albeit for various reasons, including one's genetic make-up, number of fillings, state of fillings, quality of the amalgam, etc.
However, u do NOT know if you will be one of the minority, and minority could be 5% or up to 30% of the population. These aren't scientific figures - just my non-scientific assessment.
Amalgam is mostly mercury, yet why do they call it "silver filling." It's willful deception.
Mercury is one of the most toxic substances on the planet. There is no safe level, there is only a degree of risk.
The only argument for amalgam is it's cheap and lasts longer than other modern fillings. Some think money is worth more than your health and life, I disagree.
There is a conflict of interest with these dentists and dental organizations.
@jackburton2009 It is called it silver amalgam. There is no point in stating that there is mercury in it because an amalgam is a combination of mercury and another metal, in this case being silver. Dentist never use the name "silver filling" when they refer to it with the assistant. It is just a name people say to know it isn't the "white fillings".
@PandaMagicFTW, amagams are 50% mercury by weight, meaning mercury is, by far, the most significant ingredient in amalgams (they are around 35% silver) - and the scientific method IS to classify by weight. Given that mercury is THE MOST TOXIC non man-made metal there is (plutonium is rare in nature), and that mercury DOES leach from this restorative material, "mercury fillings" is a VERY APT MONIKER.
@PandaMagicFTW, if you have eight reasonably-sized fillings, you very likely have 4 grams of mercury in your mouth - enough to kill you four times over. Tell me they shouldn't be called "mercury fillings" now?
@staypuftOK I actually have around 15-16 fillings, pretty fucked up. And like I have said, dentist don't use the term "silver fillings" to other dentist or assistants, they call it "silver amalgam" which would mean, silver dissolved in mercury. If they were to say "mercury amalgam" that would mean mercury dissolved in mercury, which doesn't make sense. Amalgam already means mercury. Dentist normally say "amalgam fillings", which is mercury. "Silver fillings" is a term used mostly by patients.
@PandaMagicFTW, I DON'T GIVE A DAMN what term dentists use - DENTISTS ARE NOT SCIENTISTS!
The proper name is MERCURY FILLINGS, because amalgam's main ingredient is mercury, and it's the mercury that gives the amalgam the characteristics required of a restorative material. Take the mercury away and the amalgam is USELESS as a filling.
Finally, amalgams leach mercury, the most toxic non man-made metal (plutonium is rare in nature!) in the universe, so mercury fillings is the correct term.
@staypuftOK You are very ignorant, the "proper" name is not "mercury fillings". You don't need to be a scientist to have names and terms in your profession. Take mercury away, and it is not an amalgam. The "proper" name is silver amalgam.
@PandaMagicFTW, & you are insulting. Go find out why mercury was used in amalgam in the first place - WITHOUT MERCURY THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO AMALGAM FILLINGS.
Mercury is the KEY INGREDIENT that makes amalgam a VIABLE restorative material. It is also an extremely toxic metal, and, therefore, defines the nature of amalgam - namely, as a hazardous substance.
The proper name is MERCURY FILLINGS, & the public can decide what term they prefer NOT DENTI$T$s
@staypuftOK You have just repeated what I have said, but in an incorrect way, with a similar principle. Of course if there is no mercury there would be no amalgam, the word amalgam defines the substance to have mercury. Amalgam = Mercury. For example, Methane Hydrate, if there is no water, then it would be just Methane, because hydrate = water. Similarly silver amalgam would mean silver dissolved in mercury. And, obviously it is down to the dentist to to decide that terms dentist should use.

@PandaMagicFTW, "Amalgam" DID NOT originally refer to mercury fillings. It's an old alchemists' term. "Amalgam", as a dentists' term, refers to a particular form of alloy containing mercury that is suitable as a restorative material for teeth. In other words, any old amalgam won't do!
"AMALGAM" - meaning the filling! - CAN ONLY BE USED TO RESTORE TEETH BECAUSE IT CONTAINS MERCURY - DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
NO MERCURY MEANS NO SUITABLE ALTERNATIVE ALLOY, ASIDE FROM GOLD. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
@staypuftOK Oh didn't know you posted 4 comments... Amalgam is a metal dissolved in mercury, not a dental filling. Silver amalgam just so happens to be a good dental filling. Of course any amalgam won't do, that's why they use silver amalgam. But the word amalgam directly means that it contains mercury. You can't have an amalgam without mercury. Just like you can't have an aqueous solution without water. If you take away the mercury it's no longer an amalgam.
@PandaMagicFTW, it is NOT "silver amalgam" - amalgam fillings are 50% MERCURY BY WEIGHT. Amalgam fillings r only any good as a filling because of the MERCURY they contain.
The concern over amalgam stems ONLY FROM THE MERCURY in the filling. EVERY ASPECT OF AMALGAM, from its characteristics as a good restorative material to it being treated as a HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE outside of the mouth, to the POTENTIAL & VERY REAL RISK amalgam poses to the health of the population, relates TO THE **MERCURY**
@PandaMagicFTW, the word "amalgam" now means the metal fillings that dentists put in people's mouths - STOP QUIBBLING! You're desperately trying to win a losing battle.
If it weren't for the MERCURY, there would be NO ALTERNATIVE metal fillings, aside from gold,
@staypuftOK Ok seriously you are getting really retarded. I am in college 1sr year chemistry, I know exactly what an amalgam is. You on the other hand is obviously confused. An amalgam is a mercury alloy composed of any metal which is dissolved in mercury. In this case, the main metal is silver, thus silver amalgam. If it were to be sodium, then it would be sodium amalgam. You should learn about this subject before trying to argue about it. Research what an amalgam is at least.
@PandaMagicFTW, WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT AMALGAM GENERALLY, YOU DOPE! This isn't chemistry class now. We're referring to the specific type of amalgam that dentists use to fill caries in teeth.
Dentists call them "SILVER FILLINGS" - because that's what the ALLOY is - A FILLING FOR TEETH, you dimwit.
I NEVER referred to amalgam as "mercury amalgam" - I wrote "MERCURY FILLINGS" - so don't go off on a tangent discussing amalgam generally, because most amalgams are useless as fillings for teeth.
@PandaMagicFTW, search my comments and show me where I wrote "mercury amalgam" - looks like you can't read! It is YOU who is very confused. Seems you're going to fail your first year studies.
@PandaMagicFTW, it is NOT down to the dentist to MISLEAD THE PATIENT and IMPLANT MERCURY IN THEIR BRAINS WITHOUT TELLING THEM. Autopies show a correlation between how many amalgams a person has and how much elemental mercury is in their brains at time of death.
@PandaMagicFTW, IT'S MY DAMN BODY AND MY DAMN BRAIN - NO DENTIST HAS A RIGHT TO SHOVE VAST AMOUNTS OF MERCURY IN MY BODY WITHOUT TELLING ME.
Mercury leaches from mercury fillings - I have a right to know that! I have a right to know what risk I'm being exposed to. Dentists lied, saying amalgam didn't leak any mercury - they didn't carry out any scientific tests to find out - THEY JUST DIDN'T CARE!
@staypuftOK How does a dentist not tell you? And how does he lie? If he said that it contains no mercury and puts it in your mouth, then you should sue him. But, If he had said amalgam, then he has already told you it contains mercury. Dentists normally ask if you want plastic or amalgam fillings. Have you asked your dentist if the amalgam filling leaches mercury? Because, a dentist would tell you, yes it does, but in a small amount.
@PandaMagicFTW, patients say "silver fillings" because that's what dentists have called them for decades. Most people don't realize amalgams are 50% mercury by weight.

@apocalist420, do it safely! Find a MERCURY-FREE practice. They will use a rubber dam to prevent u inhaling mercury vapor, & some will give u a nose mask with a supply of oxygen. They'll use a powerful suction and plenty of water to flush away the mercury.
Removing amalgam releases a lot of mercury vapor, so do it safely!
2-3 months chelation might be worthwhile, but ONLY use a safe product - some can be dangerous by not removing mercury safely from ur body.
@jakeZaks2012 I found a mercury free/ mercury safe dentist. Any ideas on things I should use to detox. Ill look up humet-r now, I bought some zeolite and NAC for now.
@apocalist420, as for "detox", the only product I know that is 100% safe is Humet-R. I'm NOT going to recommend anything else, as I don't want to risk harming any1's health.
The body naturally removes mercury from its system, rapidly and slowly - the speed depends on where the mercury is stored. So, with a little assistance from Humet-R, u should be OK.
Serious detox is for those dangerously exposed to mercury - & that's something that should involve hospital doctors. So, don't go berserk :oP
@jakeZaks2012 Yeah I am not too worried about it. I do however know that some people have genetic polymorphism's which make it harder for them to detoxify this metal, but my exposure to mercury will be significantly reduced so, I will see if my symptoms improve or not.
Dentists carried out no science to prove mercury was inert in amalgam, they were proved wrong, yet have not been humbled. Instead, they blame the public.
As for "quack science", one "quack busters" site said mercury atoms sink in air, but it turns out mercury vapor drifts off in small air currents rather like smoke - a university experiment here:
wbgustream (dot) bgsu (dot) edu/bgsu/epa/index-fl (dot) h tml
@apocalist420, & research papers carried out by universities & others are NOT free to the public - u must pay tens of dollars 4 a single article. There r many science papers I would like to read, but I'd have to spend 100s of dollars to get them - is that also the public's fault? The fact is the public is being DENIED science, which leaves them open to exploitation by charlatans - on both sides of the debate!
We r meant to act like sheep. As soon as we stop acting like sheep, we get attacked.
Mercury destroys neuron pathways causing destruction in the nervous systems
An inference from that: mercury causes disease in the body
It's that simple. My dentist literally told me TWENTY TIMES almost to the point of ridiculousness that "there's no scientific evidence that amalgam fillings cause disease in the body". You know why? Because according the ADA, the only reason a dentist can give for removing amalgams is for cosmetic reasons, and I had to sign a form saying that is the reason
I had for getting nine amalgams removed. Dentists have and continue to be sent to prison for claiming that amalgam removal "may benefit your health". Understand this is the reason they do this--the same reason this idiot dentist in the video is telling you "it's safe". He's going by what the ADA says, and if he deviates he could be sent to prison and have his license revoked (ruining his life). Understand this about this controversy.
did you all get that?we do not put mercury fillings into the teeth of pregnant women and children under 6,cos its not safe.so precicely when does it BECOME safe?
When I was child most of my teeth were drilled. I remember the dentist explaining to my mother that he was drilling healthy teeth to protect them in the future. I was a child and they knew mercury was a poison I wonder what poisons they are using now? and why would they want to place poison in children's mouths in the first place?. Better to have no teeth than this metal in the body.
Mercury aka quicksilver (Hg) can be methylated by yeast in your body, which makes the whole thing even worse. This in turn makes the yeast thrive in your body, which in turn makes it worse, and so on.
Hg combined with Aluminium (Al) is many times as harmful (Al compounds is used in some food additives).
Selenium + Vit. E, Sulphur, Vit. C helps remove the toxin and can be used as prophylaxis when removing fillings or taking vaccines.
Avoid removing several fillings in one go if already sick.
@Kenzofeis Vit. B complex helps fight the effect from Hg blocking the transport of Vit. B to the brain (which cause depression and anxiety) so a good advice is to take high quality natural Vit. B complex. The positive effects may be registered already after a couple of days.
Avoid other metals in your mouth in combo with amalgam fillings!
Think "battery" - different metals and alloys have voltage potentials between them, and will discharge through the spit via ion release.
Find all details heavy metal toxicity plus videos on my info site poisonmetal . com
The famous + acknowledged dentist/author Dr. Tom McGuire (DDS) says this about my info site:
In all of the years I've been involved in the mercury issue, from many levels, I've never seen a better and more comprehensive resource website. It is fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for the best information about this subject. You are to be commended - thanks for your good work!
Asking a Dentist if Mercury fillings is safe is like asking the Devil to take you to Heaven. A Dentist can lose their license so seek advice from a Holistic and stop the madness. Why do you think the Mad Hatter is so crazy?
Do your research and get the out safely like me and thousands of other. Mercury is banned in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, go figure!
EVERYONE search 'cure tooth decay' in google, dental health is all about diet. this is REAL trust me I am not trying to sell anything but since being on his diet i have seen my teeth re-crystalize with enamel. DONT LISTEN TO MAINSTREAM INFO ABOUT HEALTH ETC. RESEARCH DIET IT IS ALL YOU NEED. STOP EATING REFINED FLOURS SUGARS
@huggyb85 please give me some links. I have 4 filings, and aspergers syndrome. our Gov't makes me sick. I have a neurological problem most likely cause by our Gov't, and then they add insult to injury. rubbing mercury in my neurological wounds so to speak.
@huggyb85 Me too! Gosh Darnet.... I have a mouth full of them and I'm the only one in my family with a bunch of health problems including depression at the age of 30. I have been depressed since I was about nine years old (after the fact I have gotten my first filling) I pray to God if he could get me out of this God forsaken city that has no real jobs to a place that does to be able to get these fillings out.
@watch2mefly yes get them out but I will recommend you look at this site w w w .curetoothdecay. com - since following this guys advice I have seen re-cystalisation of teeth and strengthening, He gives you free info on how to do this so its not a money making thing, DENTAL HEALTH = NUTRITION 100%, but they dont want you to know this because they will loose money as people wont need dental treatment and medicines.
I do NOT wonder that amalgam is still the most common filling in the world. It (mercury) makes the people sick, weak and fearful - maybe for an entire lifetime. And who is the most welcomed citizen in the view of the government? A weak, fearful and sick person who has not enough strength to fight against the rulers and the freakin mighty rich people behind them.
Thats just great... "I don't think that the burden is on someone to prove that it's safe, I I think that the burden is on someone to prove that it's unsafe."
Chemicals, gmo foods, vaccinations and now mercury in your mouth should be considered innocent until proven guilty. Great logic and coming from a doctor, by that time, half the population could be dead.
The fool dentist quotes the EPA.. Bubba, they want you dumbed down so you dont get into public office and take their scientific dictatorship away. If it eliminates your IQ "It's Safe"!! Welcome to the new world order!
David Simes and his cohorts need to be hung by their nipples and beaten senseless. "I don't think the burden of proof lies on us to show that it (a toxin!) is safe" - is this guy running for office? Scandalous and ignorant.
this is a load of rubbish if any one thinks this is safe they need to see a doctor even in UK NHS boss had been warned its all about money due to them being cheap metal people for get we live in capitilst sociaty
It is scary to think that dental amalgam contains 50% mercury. However, the mercury in amalgam is very stable and exhibits intermetallic bonds that are almost impossible to break under normal occlusal forces. To date, there is no confirmed evidence to indicate that mercury in dental amalgam is related to any disease.
Regardless of what the criteria for your so-called "confirmed evidence" is, there is plenty of research and anecdotal evidence linking mercury from amalgams with health problems, which should be enough.
People who have not personally experienced mercury poisoning induced by amalgams should automatically be disqualified from being allowed to make statements that amalgams are harmless, when in fact they are not.
The above statements are utterly and completely false. It is unethical to make such claims without any credible foundation.
For example gum disease and bone loss was linked to amalgam use over 20 years ago. Gum disease is so common that it is THE major reason for tooth loss in the US and affects hundreds of millions of people yet this person claims otherwise. Show me the evidence not the claims made by trade associations who were handsomely paid for their patent.
once at a dentist in the uk i explained that i was worried about mercury poisoning, and he agreed with me and fitted white ones free of charge, lots of european countries have banned amalgam fillings, sweden germany,if its safe why have these countries done this,i wouldnt put this shit in my kids mouths if there life depended on it.
'Amalgam-free' dentists are still few and far between in the UK, and mainly will be for 'cosmetic' reasons - staying very quiet when asked about the mercury poisoning issue. (same with docs, consultants)
We need to keep raising consciousness about it so patients / parents can actually make better informed healthcare choices.
@666kerk666 Yesss that's "Doppeldenk" in German! Good example to see the huger impact of polemic argumentation compared to the content of (fragile) arguments.
RUBBISH! Amalgam is safe. In fact, recent government studies have shown that it has a positive, calming effect on the brain and improves judgement. As a result, people with amalgam fillings tend to avoid situations that are likely to cause mentally exertion. This in turn reduces stress and has recently shown a slight improvement in brain function and quality of life.
@1madaboutguitar well that's ridiculous, isn't it? Mercury is a poison - doubtless. If you want to put it into your mouth to "get increased brain functionality(???) and become calm", it's your decision as an adult. But before you state such nonsense to the public please do your homework and research how mercury among other things inhibits enzymes and hormones and eventually kills neurons - that is proven. Google for Minamata Disease..
According to many people "the only safe place for mercury is in your mouth!"
I met a man recently who was in bed, ill for 17 years, diagnosed with ME, adrenal and thyroid failure and auto-immune disease. He had all 11 mercury fillings and a gold crown removed by an excellent and pioneering dentist in Bedford, UK and withing four days was walking, laughing, full of energy, talking of getting a job again and excited (at 48yrs old) of a new life that lay ahead of him.
@hedo1020 I have removed the rest of the 9 Mercury fillings from my mouth on 11 Aug., 2010 after recognized that the "Silver" fillings is actually Mercury fillings, and my chronic fatigue syndrome become minor after 3 days and I get more energy day by day. Thanks for the information from Dr. Hal Huggins. ( I have maximum 15 mercury fillings on 1992, and my health level start going down since my first Mercury fillings on 1980, and I start feeling very very sick since 2003.)
"...they are developing organisms" speaking about children. People, wake up, this man is evil, he views humans, fellow humans, as simple organisms. You can tell by the way he talks he approves of people getting all these diseases from amalgam fillings
white fillings (composites) contain hundreds of chemicals which in the course of time, some of which will prove to be carcinogenic. so what will you lot do then? i suggest you just have a tooth taken out rather than trying to fill it
I queried the dental nurse at school and she was adament amalgam was safe for the child and that its in the water and foods we eat anyway so whats the harm??
When I asked her for white ones she discredited it immediately - doesn't last as long as amalgam, costly because its unsubsidised by government and its unavailable in schools.
She than went on to say bluntly, I need to sought a private dentist but, it would cost. So i did, for free!
I got two fillings today. It's a good thing I asked for white fillings instead of amalgam. Althought the Amalgam ones are free and the white ones cost 160 euro
"I dont think the burden is on someone to proove its safe, i think the burden is someone to proove it is unsafe" What an amazing claim by this brave man. Well im pretty sure mercury (Hg) is the second most dangerous metal known to man, possibly the most dangerous, and to be putting it in our mouth and keeping it in there for possibly many decades couldnt be any more dangerous.
I really like this quote: "Your body has a small ability to get rid of mercury. Until you have your first amalgam filling placed, then it loses that ability. Then it accumulates, and at some point in time, it's going to get ya."
I believe that's exactly what happened to me. My symptoms came on very suddenly, and I believe mercury-containing fish helped trip my mercury level over the "toxic" edge. I've had my amalgams removed and have started detox with ALA (and later DMSA if I can get it).
I know, but I've had a very noticable improvements of my symptoms after only a few rounds with ALA only. However, I do intend to continue chelating with ALA+DMSA.

amalgam is safe. most mercury vapour is released during placement and removal of amalgams ergo dentists are exposed to it in the greatest levels. do dentists all fall ill or suffer from dementia? no. this is harmful sensationalist journalism. some people are so stupid they shouldnt be allowed an opinion.
@2:53 this guy clearly admits the vapour of amalgams leeches. How do u deem this as safe? No amount of mercury is safe. I dont see much harmful sensationalist journalism here. Some people such as yourself ARE stupid and therefore shouldnt be allowed an opinion. Any amalgams in your mouth I wonder?
I just finished getting all my mercury fillings removed. It is well worth the price to pay for the cosmetic procedure as my health insurance calls it!

TheSeriousSara 2 months ago
while i don't disagree with the premise that amalgam fillings can cause a host of neurological and other diseases, how does Dr.

We all know that to be false.

hopefully in the future, producers of amalgam fillings will be put in the same group as those companies who still manufacture and consider lead and asbestos to be safe. they all know its not, but as long as they can make a buck.....

i dont know why people argue in favor of mercury. its poison no matter what. even if it was safe in fillings there is still a miniscule chance that your doctor fucks it up. and people who are unaware are being poisoned for the rest of their life. there is always going to be the side that benefits from them by calling them safe, money is always the bottom line. its a cheaper way of doing things, they make the most profit that way.
billweir1745 4 months ago
There is no scientific evidence showing ANY amount of mercury inside your body is safe. Amalgam fillings is just the new version of the mad hatter who used to put mercury inside hats
kexler11 4 months ago
Amalgam fillings can last for 20 or more years but the white(composite) fillings which are the best alternative to amalgam won't even last a third of the time and are more expensive to place.
Long story short: dentists will make more money if they place composite fillings because with composite they'll be doing more of them for a higher price. Money has nothing to do with this issue.

my mom has worked in the hospital lab for a few decades. about 20 years ago, she said that the hospital would have here and her coworkers handle tubs filled with mercury with their bare hands. they would clean the mercury with their bare hands. she thinks they used clorox. they did this for at least 10 years. not one of them has had any health issues. we are exposed to mercury no matter what. it's VERY RARE for the small exposure in amalgams to cause bad health effects. PERIOD.
forever1634 11 months ago
@forever1634 For starters, I do hope you are not saying that mercury is NOT dangerous for that has only been proven. What type of mercury was your mother handling? Also, does your mother still speak to ALL of the coworkers that handled this material 20 years ago?
TheSeriousSara 2 months ago
@forever1634 From the CDC "However, should one be exposed to large amounts of mercury, factors such as the exposure dose, the duration of exposure, and the route of exposure (ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact) are all important in determining the risk to the individual." and "Different types of mercury have different effects on the body because they are metabolized differently."
TheSeriousSara 2 months ago
The general consensus among scientific research is that amalgam does leach, but for a full mouth of amalgam fillings that amount per week would be less than one seafood meal.
Since there is no scientific evidence proving amalgam unsafe, it is accepted in the dental profession to do amalgam fillings, and to remove a perfect restoration of amalgam is unethical. To suggest to the patient that amalgams need to be removed is also unethical.

Search for mercury-free dentists, and ask!

The only reason they used mercury in the first place was because, they said, the mercury didn't leach out, so 0% risk! THEY WERE WRONG!!

Some countries have banned its use already.
jackburton2009 1 year ago
@jackburton2009 It is called it silver amalgam. There is no point in stating that there is mercury in it because an amalgam is a combination of mercury and another metal, in this case being silver. Dentist never use the name "silver filling" when they refer to it with the assistant. It is just a name people say to know it isn't the "white fillings".
PandaMagicFTW 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, amagams are 50% mercury by weight, meaning mercury is, by far, the most significant ingredient in amalgams (they are around 35% silver) - and the scientific method IS to classify by weight. Given that mercury is THE MOST TOXIC non man-made metal there is (plutonium is rare in nature), and that mercury DOES leach from this restorative material, "mercury fillings" is a VERY APT MONIKER.
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, if you have eight reasonably-sized fillings, you very likely have 4 grams of mercury in your mouth - enough to kill you four times over. Tell me they shouldn't be called "mercury fillings" now?
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@staypuftOK I actually have around 15-16 fillings, pretty fucked up. And like I have said, dentist don't use the term "silver fillings" to other dentist or assistants, they call it "silver amalgam" which would mean, silver dissolved in mercury. If they were to say "mercury amalgam" that would mean mercury dissolved in mercury, which doesn't make sense. Amalgam already means mercury. Dentist normally say "amalgam fillings", which is mercury. "Silver fillings" is a term used mostly by patients.
PandaMagicFTW 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, I DON'T GIVE A DAMN what term dentists use - DENTISTS ARE NOT SCIENTISTS!
The proper name is MERCURY FILLINGS, because amalgam's main ingredient is mercury, and it's the mercury that gives the amalgam the characteristics required of a restorative material. Take the mercury away and the amalgam is USELESS as a filling.
Finally, amalgams leach mercury, the most toxic non man-made metal (plutonium is rare in nature!) in the universe, so mercury fillings is the correct term.
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@staypuftOK You are very ignorant, the "proper" name is not "mercury fillings". You don't need to be a scientist to have names and terms in your profession. Take mercury away, and it is not an amalgam. The "proper" name is silver amalgam.
PandaMagicFTW 1 year ago

DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@staypuftOK Oh didn't know you posted 4 comments... Amalgam is a metal dissolved in mercury, not a dental filling. Silver amalgam just so happens to be a good dental filling. Of course any amalgam won't do, that's why they use silver amalgam. But the word amalgam directly means that it contains mercury. You can't have an amalgam without mercury. Just like you can't have an aqueous solution without water. If you take away the mercury it's no longer an amalgam.
PandaMagicFTW 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, it is NOT "silver amalgam" - amalgam fillings are 50% MERCURY BY WEIGHT. Amalgam fillings r only any good as a filling because of the MERCURY they contain.
The concern over amalgam stems ONLY FROM THE MERCURY in the filling. EVERY ASPECT OF AMALGAM, from its characteristics as a good restorative material to it being treated as a HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE outside of the mouth, to the POTENTIAL & VERY REAL RISK amalgam poses to the health of the population, relates TO THE **MERCURY**
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, the word "amalgam" now means the metal fillings that dentists put in people's mouths - STOP QUIBBLING! You're desperately trying to win a losing battle.
If it weren't for the MERCURY, there would be NO ALTERNATIVE metal fillings, aside from gold,
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@staypuftOK Ok seriously you are getting really retarded. I am in college 1sr year chemistry, I know exactly what an amalgam is. You on the other hand is obviously confused. An amalgam is a mercury alloy composed of any metal which is dissolved in mercury. In this case, the main metal is silver, thus silver amalgam. If it were to be sodium, then it would be sodium amalgam. You should learn about this subject before trying to argue about it. Research what an amalgam is at least.
PandaMagicFTW 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT AMALGAM GENERALLY, YOU DOPE! This isn't chemistry class now. We're referring to the specific type of amalgam that dentists use to fill caries in teeth.
Dentists call them "SILVER FILLINGS" - because that's what the ALLOY is - A FILLING FOR TEETH, you dimwit.
I NEVER referred to amalgam as "mercury amalgam" - I wrote "MERCURY FILLINGS" - so don't go off on a tangent discussing amalgam generally, because most amalgams are useless as fillings for teeth.
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, search my comments and show me where I wrote "mercury amalgam" - looks like you can't read! It is YOU who is very confused. Seems you're going to fail your first year studies.
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, it is NOT down to the dentist to MISLEAD THE PATIENT and IMPLANT MERCURY IN THEIR BRAINS WITHOUT TELLING THEM. Autopies show a correlation between how many amalgams a person has and how much elemental mercury is in their brains at time of death.
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@PandaMagicFTW, IT'S MY DAMN BODY AND MY DAMN BRAIN - NO DENTIST HAS A RIGHT TO SHOVE VAST AMOUNTS OF MERCURY IN MY BODY WITHOUT TELLING ME.
Mercury leaches from mercury fillings - I have a right to know that! I have a right to know what risk I'm being exposed to. Dentists lied, saying amalgam didn't leak any mercury - they didn't carry out any scientific tests to find out - THEY JUST DIDN'T CARE!
staypuftOK 1 year ago
@staypuftOK How does a dentist not tell you? And how does he lie? If he said that it contains no mercury and puts it in your mouth, then you should sue him. But, If he had said amalgam, then he has already told you it contains mercury. Dentists normally ask if you want plastic or amalgam fillings. Have you asked your dentist if the amalgam filling leaches mercury? Because, a dentist would tell you, yes it does, but in a small amount.

Removing amalgam releases a lot of mercury vapor, so do it safely!
2-3 months chelation might be worthwhile, but ONLY use a safe product - some can be dangerous by not removing mercury safely from ur body.

So, don't go berserk :oP
jakeZaks2012 1 year ago
@jakeZaks2012 Yeah I am not too worried about it. I do however know that some people have genetic polymorphism's which make it harder for them to detoxify this metal, but my exposure to mercury will be significantly reduced so, I will see if my symptoms improve or not.

Dentists carried out no science to prove mercury was inert in amalgam, they were proved wrong, yet have not been humbled. Instead, they blame the public.
As for "quack science", one "quack busters" site said mercury atoms sink in air, but it turns out mercury vapor drifts off in small air currents rather like smoke - a university experiment here:
wbgustream (dot) bgsu (dot) edu/bgsu/epa/index-fl (dot) h tml
jakeZaks2012 1 year ago

Because according the ADA, the only reason a dentist can give for removing amalgams is for cosmetic reasons, and I had to sign a form saying that is the reason
rancores 1 year ago 2
I had for getting nine amalgams removed. Dentists have and continue to be sent to prison for claiming that amalgam removal "may benefit your health". Understand this is the reason they do this--the same reason this idiot dentist in the video is telling you "it's safe". He's going by what the ADA says, and if he deviates he could be sent to prison and have his license revoked (ruining his life). Understand this about this controversy.

Kenzofeis 1 year ago
@Kenzofeis Vit. B complex helps fight the effect from Hg blocking the transport of Vit. B to the brain (which cause depression and anxiety) so a good advice is to take high quality natural Vit. B complex. The positive effects may be registered already after a couple of days.
Avoid other metals in your mouth in combo with amalgam fillings!
Think "battery" - different metals and alloys have voltage potentials between them, and will discharge through the spit via ion release.

It is scary to think that dental amalgam contains 50% mercury. However, the mercury in amalgam is very stable and exhibits intermetallic bonds that are almost impossible to break under normal occlusal forces. To date, there is no confirmed evidence to indicate that mercury in dental amalgam is related to any disease.
navydds2012 1 year ago
@navydds2012
Regardless of what the criteria for your so-called "confirmed evidence" is, there is plenty of research and anecdotal evidence linking mercury from amalgams with health problems, which should be enough.
People who have not personally experienced mercury poisoning induced by amalgams should automatically be disqualified from being allowed to make statements that amalgams are harmless, when in fact they are not.
nisserot 1 year ago
@navydds2012

Wow, thats lucky.

So... do your research mate.
1madaboutguitar 1 year ago

He had all 11 mercury fillings and a gold crown removed by an excellent and pioneering dentist in Bedford, UK and withing four days was walking, laughing, full of energy, talking of getting a job again and excited (at 48yrs old) of a new life that lay ahead of him.

white fillings (composites) contain hundreds of chemicals which in the course of time, some of which will prove to be carcinogenic. so what will you lot do then? i suggest you just have a tooth taken out rather than trying to fill it
roryk000 2 years ago
They still push people to get amalgam,
I queried the dental nurse at school and she was adament amalgam was safe for the child and that its in the water and foods we eat anyway so whats the harm??
When I asked her for white ones she discredited it immediately - doesn't last as long as amalgam, costly because its unsubsidised by government and its unavailable in schools.
She than went on to say bluntly, I need to sought a private dentist but, it would cost. So i did, for free!

"I dont think the burden is on someone to proove its safe, i think the burden is someone to proove it is unsafe" What an amazing claim by this brave man. Well im pretty sure mercury (Hg) is the second most dangerous metal known to man, possibly the most dangerous, and to be putting it in our mouth and keeping it in there for possibly many decades couldnt be any more dangerous.
peteyOZ 2 years ago
I really like this quote: "Your body has a small ability to get rid of mercury. Until you have your first amalgam filling placed, then it loses that ability. Then it accumulates, and at some point in time, it's going to get ya."
I believe that's exactly what happened to me. My symptoms came on very suddenly, and I believe mercury-containing fish helped trip my mercury level over the "toxic" edge. I've had my amalgams removed and have started detox with ALA (and later DMSA if I can get it).
