  • You do realise that if you are going to argue against something, you should pick the strongest aspect and argue against that? Picking Induction, which is the first phase, but also the shortest, as your only point of attack, and then making out that it is the whole diet is just amateur. You're creating a straw man position.

    Furthermore, you cannot even argue against Induction effectively because you are clearly mistaken.

  • All animal products will KILL YOU!!! Animal products are the cause of all diseases known to man!!! Everyone needs to adopt a 100% plant based diet. You will get everything you need from fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains and legumes. Make this switch as soon as possible to make yourself and your loved ones extremely healthy. You will have a ton of energy!!! Things to stay away from include whey, casein, lactose and albumin. Also, limit consumption of refined sugars and carbohydrates.

  • First of all, thank you for taking the time to view my video on the Atkins Diet. I am very familiar with Eric Westman's study. There were some confounding factors that 'skewed' the results. First off, the subjects were given Fish Oil which is known to decrease triglyceride levels. Also, Subjects did lose approximately 7 lbs of LBM over the 6 month period. Many patients have complained about dehydration being on his regime and some have fainted. Remember, Westman study was on HEALTHY subjects.

  • I'd encourage you to watch my videos and correct some of your misconceptions of what the Atkins Diet is and is not. If anything the Atkins Diet is protective of muscle loss (demonstrated in peer-reviewed multiple studies) than any other weight loss method. Check out any of Dr. Eric Westman's work.

    The only non-essential macronutrient is glucose as the body can produce it.

    As for the water weight loss, the body maintains a new equilibrium. It is not a state of dehydration.

  • How do you explain the studies that demonstrated less lean body mass lost on the low carb diets than any other diet method?

    I lost 211 pounds 4 years on the Atkins Diet, started running marathons on low carb - 30-40g of Carbs per day or less, and have demonstrated nothing but excellent health. As for muscle loss, I have increased my lifting max weight by 33-50% depending on the lift.
