She was a songbird, one of a kind.  I get so angry cause they did not give her, her props.. She acted, played guitar, wrote, produced, sued Motown and got a bill passed in the U S congress protecting artists from having to stay with a music label when it refused to release their records. She really paved the way for artists that would have been stuck. I was very much looking forward to see the kind of televised recognition Micheal Jackson, Amy Winehouse, and the late Whitney Houston.received.

What's truly bizarre about this, is that Granny (Irene Ryan) and Teena both got signed to Motown. Teena wasn't the first white chick to get signed: Granny beat her to it! Then Kiki Dee, then Teena, then Charlene, then Linda Carter.
