evolution can be painful, i think the ones who grow are the ones who can use the suffering for elevation as you say, responding to this adversity. As far as my own experience goes when playing guitar, when a dissonant note comes into being, it hurts when im not ready for it!, but if i remain with a strong steady mind and heart, it can turn a "mistake" it into something beautiful.
