I was at this game too. I was rooting for memphis obviously for my bracket, but i found myself rooting for the underdog. A great try for the upset. a fun game

I was at the game in KC. As a Memphis fan for over 40 years I did something that I've NEVER, EVER done before. I gave an opposing team a standing ovation when the game was over. Even though we won, knowledgeable Memphis fans recognize a truly monumental effort. You guys and your great fans had great heart and have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of! My hope is that you play Kentucky soon and beat the crap out of them.

This is their 2nd tourney appearance, in 2001 they went to the big dance and lost in round 1 to 4 seeded Kansas 99-75 :(

I grew up in Van Nuys but moved to Houston and attend the University of Houston. Memphis is very beatable we play them every year in our conference, although I am a Houston Cougar I will be cheering for CSUN to beat Memphis.

I thought about who is Memphis is playing this first round. I had to say this my hometown team will whoop your a.... We need a easy one before we take tough teams I know and respect like Pitt or UConn. We as Memphis fans don't care or respect you so when tomorrow comes you will see who we are. See you around

BTW, when it comes to counting the school's student body and demographics, it gets confusing because in some counts Armenians and Persians are considered white and in other Asian and in others they ar ecounted as their own group. Basically we have a lot of everybody here and being on big and diverse campus was fun and in my last two years I and the other upperclass men economics majors made up a diverse group and the experience was really fun.

It was so dissapointing when the very talented 2007-2008 team got upset in the conference tournament. Despite losing two key players, this 2009 group really, really has played so well and my alma mater is making its first big dance trip since before I was a student there. I hope we can pull the shocking upset on Memphis and make huge Cinderella run but no matter what, getting into the big dance is great if anything so that the school's name will be more recognizable natio nwide.

at orientation they told us it's 33% white 33% latino 33% everything else but my AAS teacher said it's 15-20% Asian so the numbers just don't add up but it doesn't really matter.
