  • @oO0randomzach0Oo that was uncalled for that looked like somthing a 10 year old would say

  • @oO0randomzach0Oo that was uncalled for even if ur really frushstraited u dont have to go off on someone like that

  • I can't stand the Japanese voicing. They just sound so corny, they don't fit the characters like the English dubs at all.

  • Comment removed

  • @WolffeGaming i agree with u, and do the creators xD

  • Hey, lets not be cruel... Nickoons dubs sometimes have stronger dialogue, and i think in Kai Bulma is voiced by Tsubaki from Soul Eater 0.o

  • english kai voice for goku is better

original vegeta voice for dbz is better

  • Original Dragon Ball z kicks kai's ass anyday

  • original

  • Holy fuck, that's Reinhard von Lohengramm voice.

  • @kilmindaro3 god im glad it's not just me

  • Original voice have this...deep,surnatural kind of voice. Its really special

  • OG Vegeta of course! XD

  • Vegeta's DBZ voice is so much... more attractive....

  • @anaelyssa agree :P

  • I hate goku's voice.. the both versions of vegeta are not bad

  • Kenji Yamamoto vs Shunsuke Kikuchi

  • New Music>Old Music

  • i like the english kia voice

  • The original music alone makes DBZ better.

  • @DarkBlitzkrieg46 By far.

  • I like the one where Vegeta spoke

  • both are very similar

but i like the original a bit better

  • @SSJ2vegetax99

It's more a matter of personal preference than anyhting else. Personally, I like most of the Japanese voices for DB/Z, but as i said, Goku's the real sticking point that puts me off (as I said, it's like old dub Freeza for me).

  • DBZ is the ONLY anime where i prefer the English voices over Japanese

  • Am I the only that likes the Japanese dub for Kai. Sure it's not as good as the original but there is spots in kai where the japanese dub is better imo. Like Goku turning ssj or when Trunks vs Perfect cell.

  • @UltimateGOKUX Same. Everybody hates Japanese Kai, and it's not even bad.

  • @GohanDaimaoZ

Could you explain why people consider Japanese Kai bad?

  • @UrielCain Because it's not as good as the original Japanese Z for the most part.

  • @UrielCain

Original DBZ is better in Japanese than Kai in Japanese because there didn't need to be a Kai for Japanese DBZ. It was already completely accurate to the manga (plus filler), the music was better, and the voice actors were 20 years younger. Also a lot of the original Japanese DBZ voice actors passed away over time (Roshi, Mr Satan, King Cold, Tien, Fortune Teller Baba, the list goes on). Whereas in English Kai is better because it fixed a lot of the translation errors and whatnot.

  • @DiamondCutterBang I agree with all that but the music, because i love the more rockish music that the English dub and kai have (well maybe not kai).

  • @DiamondCutterBang

Not to mention Goku isn't voiced by an old lady in English...

  • @DiamondCutterBang The whole point of kai was to take the fillers out. Plus Kai's plot ends when Akira Toriyama originally wanted to end the story. Which is great because although Vegoto was awesome The whole Buu arc was a bit over the top and ridiculous in places.

  • @DiscoLeumas This isn't true at all. Kai didn't end at the end of the Cell Games because that's where "Akira Toriyama originally wanted to end the story." It ended simply because Toei animation wasn't making enough money, and because of the huge controversy surrounding the plagiarized Kenji Yamamoto background music. If you don't believe me, check out the "Intended Endings" guide on kanzentai (dot) com

  • @DiamondCutterBang I agree. Although I grew up with Funimation's original dub of DBZ, it has been nearly unwatchable for me since I started watching the original Japanese version. With Kai, I love that I can actually lay back and enjoy Dragon Ball Z in English without having to tolerate all of the goofy voice acting and inaccurate scripting. I'm on episode 50 of Kai right now, and so far I have zero interest in switching over to the Japanese audio track, even out of curiosity.

  • Love vegeta's voice here. I only watch DBZ in english because i fucking HATE goku's voice in japanese.

  • @V3n9eanc3 Agreed. WTF were they thinking? And then to have him voice fucking EVERYONE in Goku's family (except for Raditz of course). Ugh...

  • Clearly Ryo Horikawa is superior, the man who voices Captain Falcon cannot be beaten except by possibly Kevin Conroy because he's The God Damn Batman.

  • Original look more intense!

  • Japanese voice has no soul, but that's actually the most fitting for Vegeta so...

  • @Ahiru77 What are you talking. Any soul that was there to begin was because of them. Ludicrous!

  • @Ahiru77 *about

  • Ryo Horikawa one of the most legendary Japanese voice actors ever

  • @sxdxdb3 omg some kid on youtube posted he showed him the team four star videos :OOO

  • My problem with Goku's Japanese voice (and Bardock's for that matter) is that I get too much of a vibe of old dub Freeza. Had they recast Goku as an adult, and found a different VA for Bardock, I'd switch over to the subbed version in a heartbeat.

  • I think Vegeta and Goku swapped voices in Kai...

  • Sounds like Ryo is overacting now....

  • Sho elito Sayajin noa totek pawao Hahahaha

    0:24

  • What i never understood is why Goku and Gohans voices were so high pitched when they were adults in the japanese version, i know its because they kept the same voice actor, but why? Why not use a new voice actor for the aldult versions and keep the old one for child Gohan and Goten...

  • @chriswww Because the actress was perfectly capable of making them sound older, and she did.

  • Original :D

  • I don't like the voice from Goku, he sound...hum...anyway, is kinda cool the english dub because the voice from Goku is strong :D, but i rather the voice actor from México, cause he sounds very cool (I'm mexican...yet he still cool), i would put them like this

    1: Mexico dub

    2: Japanese dub

    3: English dub

I like when Gohan get's mad after "death" of A16 cause when he scream with that anger...sound pretty much like the one from Japan. Epic one, learn some spanish and you'll see

  • @Yorcont ewww mexico dub

  • @McWiggl3z ¿asi que entiendes español? no me referi al doblaje de españa...dije México, ¿no se porque te da asco?, if you were just trolling...well, do what you want...and if you dont know spanish...then translate what i said before, i want a good talk where our opinions get the same, like the fusion, two on 1 is better. That's the way, not just thinking you know everything...cause we dont

  • @Yorcont Im sorry im a die hard original Japanese fan i have seen most anime out there and all in Japanese. Im not saying anything bad about spanish but japanese to me is a beautiful language and like i said in my opinion has no equal in beauty. they can be talking about a dog taking a shit and it would still sound good.

  • @McWiggl3z and im sorry i speak English not Spanish and im currently using Rosetta stone to learn Japanese. And you can not say mexican or any other dub is better then japanese there the real originals who made it and if you actually knew the full dialogue you would know that most languages dont translate well with others so your point is not something you can argue about. If you genuinely think that mexican dub is better then Japanese then your crazy that is all.

  • Maybe it's just that to me, the voice from Goku sound "funny" instead strong as Goku is, i think i just only don't like the voice from Goku, because Vegeta sounds cool, the other are ok but since i hear the voice actor from Goku here on México i like it more, that's one of the animes that sound good on my language, the others sound like shit XD, you should try to hear the voices like...well maybe you don't like the way Goku sounds here XD watch?v=XtsYs6tDr2E They also sound sexy lol

  • @Yorcont yah i dont like spanish goku im gonna be honest his voice is to deep. Goku has that freewill feel about him the voice doesnt fit in my opinion. but yah thats what it boils down to is preference but im not gonna lie sean schemel does a good goku its the perfect balance of innocence and strength

  • @Yorcont and freiza sounds absolutely retarded in spanish

  • @McWiggl3z Like i thought...well i tryed my best to protect the voice XD, I would think that a deep voice could be bad but since there's no "real" voice from Goku is hard to think how he really would sound. Unles that Akira Toriyama set the cast i like that voice...i would say that Akira and "Goku" may sound the same lol

  • @McWiggl3z sorry i try to say "I wouldn't think that a deep voice could be bad" XD

  • yah original way better i love that 10 year spread of voice actors fist of the north star has the best cast in an anime in my opinion.

  • im sorry but everything sounds so much more baddass in japanese

  • the music is better orginal that in KAi...

  • @sp4rtan117ofallhalos i never heard a twelve year old who sounds like that....

  • @AshleyHarvelle101 the english dub is horrible

  • Z is way better in Japanese.

  • @sxdxdb3 I agree!

  • I think the voice from kai is better but the original music is better too

  • original music and Japanese voices are better imo

  • Original is beter.Music and dub.

  • @Mrjakleciziom English Z dub?

  • @startmirca yup on a jap dub video he going talk about the Music and dub of english yup -.-

  • Kai better

  • @darkxblade99 english dub sucks? wow ur obviously one of those guys who thinks their hardcore fans just because they watch it in japanese. seriously grow up. english japanese? who the hell cares

  • Japanese Audio: DBZ > Kai

    English Dub: Kai > DBZ

  • @darkxblade99

Make sure there is enough left for you.

    Evidently you would enjoy it.

  • @darkxblade99 YOU STUPID LITTLE PRICK!!! Listen to Goku's high-pitched 13 year old girly sounding voice!! AND Gohan's!! It's not better! I'm not saying it's not good, but some of the voices are ridiculous, and the American voices all sound good, and the music is more classic. I bet you're ugly just like yo mama you troll!!

  • @oO0randomzach0Oo

This post is exactly why we can't we can't have nice things in this world.

  • @SerenGetter He deserved that!! Look at his postssss responses. What a jerk!! I put him in his place, I hope he's crying!! >:)

  • The music in the original is better and so is the quality. It looks too clean and crisp in kai.

Ryo's acting is better in Kai as he's more experienced and has been playing him for 20 years, but the original's screaming is better. But hey, that's me.

He sounds like a wailing ghost in both of them. Why are we debating over this? It's preference, not fact.

  • 0:19 "Kim Kardashian"

  • Japanese sucks.

  • @Romaniandick1994 Lol, can english speaking countries like America make masterpieces like Dragonball Z?

  • @Happyt0fu Maybe but I'm not saying Japan sucks, I'm saying Japanese voices in anime suck.

  • @Happyt0fu Except ya know it wasn't americans who voiced either english dub. It was canadians, funimation+Ocean productions

  • I hear no difference in the voice. It just sounds like he has a better mic in the new one.

  • Dragon Ball Kai... You KNOW George Lukas had a hand in this project

  • Is goku voiced by a girl in the origional????

  • @yuyu171100 thats a good question b/c he sounds lik he has a whistle stuck in his throat.lol

  • i agree japanese voices are just fucking halarious...

  • JAPANESE VOICE ACTING IS TERRIBLE NOW SHUT IT

  • @Ninjarox3 LOL your REALLY funny. English voice actors sound like shit, and they talk in monotone, with no emotion. Japanese voice actors may sound a bit strange, but you cant deny that the voice acting has much more depth and emotion.

  • Sean shemmal was always adult voice from the start to the end

  • @TheGregoryHD

Ironically, Dragon Ball was the last of the series to be dubbed by FUNimation, so Sean Schemmel did the beginning, last.

  • damn vegeta's japanese voice is badass

  • @moviebakerperson and then u hear goku's......

  • P.S. I was being generous with the English Z dub.

  • In the English version (in my opinion) dragonball kai's vegeta was more badass

  • They both sound awesome. Damn those Japanese and their amazing voice acting.

  • At 1:02 I thought Vegeta was laughing at Goku's voice . lol

  • Whats the OST in the Kai version?

  • @L3gionHD

The song is called a "Moment of Shuddering"

  • I prefer the Kai version.

  • @gruntguy007 thats cause ur parents dropped u on ur head right after u finished watching dbz as a kid.

  • @EnvelTheTrader lol

    umad

  • @gruntguy007 anger is an emotion i do not have.

  • holy~this original one has better definition than kai lol

  • Imagine A BluRay release of DBZ with English Kai dub and the Bruce Falconer music?

It sounds too good even to me...

  • @TheNaruz

Kind of impossible considering he's been fired for 7 years because he tried to sue FUNimation for rights to GT

Then stole credit from his composing team who wrote many of the song (Mike Lloyd Smith, Julius Dobos, Scott Morgan)

  • @TheNaruz They're doing just that...WITH Kai esque Remastering...

  • NOTHING BEATS THE ORIGINAL!!!!

  • wow I can see why DBZ kai didn't do that well in Japan. Most of the voice actors have gotten really old so their voice will be different and and the fact that some voice actors who toriyama hand picked died as well.

  • Ryo Horikawa sounds has a tad to much gravel in Kai.

20 years of voice acting and smoking tends to do that I guess.

Kai has a much better dub than Z, but the Japanese cast are at their strongest in the original Z

  • @SerenGetter Also, 20 years of aging. lol

  • I cant take the japanese vegeta seriously. sorry

  • I can't believe how ignorant some of the people who have been commenting on this video are... You guys really need to grow up and respect good voice acting when you hear it. Anime is a Japanese medium. If you can't respect that, then please don't watch it. You would only be wasting your time. Thank you.

  • @MsObsessivefangirl2 ur the one being ignorant tbh, if we dont watch it in japanese we're wasting our time? yes its a japanese medium and yes i do watch certain animes in japanese, but sometimes its just a pain to be reading subtitles all the time, as u cant enjoy the anime properly, now with dbz i watch it in english because i grew up with it in english and also because the english dub is actually really good unlike some other dubs out there

  • @shreddedbeats I didn't say that. I said that if you can't respect the Japanese version, then you shouldn't be watching anime at all. I do like the English dub. I just hate to see the Japanese version get bashed time and time again. And actually, the English dub is one of the worst dubs of all time. It is inaccurate. But I still like it for nostalgic reasons.

  • @MsObsessivefangirl2 Worst of all time?? The Funimation dub is great imo, they didnt leave any important info out in the dub so im not sure how it is inaccurate...not everything can be translated word for word, but i agree, with what u say about respecting the original japanese version

  • @shreddedbeats It's a known fact that the old Funi dub isn't good compared to today's dub standards, but it was okay for its time. There were many inaccuracies in the script, and it was dumbed down to appeal to the young American audience. Have you never noticed the corny lines? I still respect it, though. Mostly for nostalgic reasons. It introduced me to DBZ.

  • @MsObsessivefangirl2 tbh ive not watched the old dbz episodes in a while, the kai dub seems very good though. good job im not american otherwise i may have took some offense to that :p

  • @shreddedbeats Lol. I said young American audience. As in kids. Cartoons are mostly aimed at kids in America.

  • @MsObsessivefangirl2 Don't you think it's hard to judge the quality of voice acting when you can't understand the language? (you stupid weeaboo bellend)

  • @cowabungasheeit I can understand the language, actually, so thanks for the inaccurate insult.

  • whe like the original voice ;) , jap or whatever

  • Kai and Z are both good in Japanese , but Z was horrible in the English dub and the Kai dub only fixed the mistakes it made.

    So :

Jap DBZ > Jap DBKai > Eng DBZKai >>>>>>>>>>>> Eng DBZ

  • @startmirca Your statement is the simple truth

  • @daindom17 Yeah , Funimation fixed their mistakes with the Kai dub , replacing the music would only ruin it .

The Z dub was just garbage as it has a different script than the original("I am light" crap) and pulled a 4kids by replacing the music.

The Kai dub , on the other hand is dubbed properly . America needed an accurate dub and I am glad that it has been made in Kai =D

  • @startmirca kai sucks in every possible way

  • @eatpenguinshitanddie Nah , It's only inferior to Z in Japanese but not a bad way to celebrate the series' 20th anniversary .

The Z dub , now that's terrible . Kai dub , best English dub of the series ever. It's what the Z dub should have been , much better acting and better dialogue , Yamamoto music beats Failconer's generic and uninspiring music .

  • @startmirca wow....i really don't know what to say to that other than that's blasphemy

  • @jimmytwotimez Well , it's true .

The Z dub was garbage , The best non-english Z dub is the Mexican-Spanish dub.

  • @startmirca I know this comes down to opinion, but I really don't see how Faulconer's score is generic and uninspired. I think it's the complete opposite. His uses a wider range of scale choices and dynamics. I find the Japanese score to be rather monochromatic and stale.

  • @c4bb4g3 My other critism is that the Faulconer score never stopped playing , silence should be in some scenes , but Faulconer destroyed it , it just played non-stop . The Japanese score just fits DBZ , I am glad it was kept in the Mexican-Spanish dub (which is the best DBZ dub ever) . Also , Kikuchi uses real instruments .

  • @startmirca I agree about that point. it got a little annoying in later sagas, especially the Perfect Cell saga. it even started getting on MY nerves, and that takes a lot of effort to do. it wasn't that bad in the Saiyan, Namek, and Frieza sagas imo. using real instruments isn't a main concern for me. I enjoy everything from the brilliance of Bach and Paganini to the most straightforward Techno so I tend to focus on the actual composition more. The Japanese score just didnt hold my attention

  • @eatpenguinshitanddie

I imagine how much you must hate Z then

Because Kai was superior in every possible way

    Kai dub >>Z dub

  • @startmirca No.

Jap DBZ > Eng DBZKai > Jap DBKai >>>>>>> Eng DBZ

  • @DBZAOTA482 The American dub of Dragon Ball sucks. "Oh darn it", "Over 9000!", "Pop goes the weasel".

  • @ViolentSpring If you meant that the voices for the American version of DBZ/GT sucks, then I must shake your hand in agreement, good fellow!

  • what they should have changed was goku's voice

  • @trueshinchan Yeah because he was supposed to be like a big and muscle man..but wait.

Go watch dragon ball in jap audio, i don't think that's exactly his personality.

(Note: i said dragon ball, not dragon ball z.)

  • @ViolentSpring i'd rather hear unique voices that i can understand than whiny 12 year old voices for adults i've had enough on shitty cod's

  • @TwoFriendsPlayGames Wow, you're truly full of shit.

  • @ViolentSpring why? cause japanease voice actors suck ass?

  • @TwoFriendsPlayGames lol, what a shitty claim. I hope you get what is coming to you.

  • @ViolentSpring shitty claim? im sorry i think japanease people can't voice act as good as english people its a fact and i wont get nothing i dont belive in gayarma

  • @TwoFriendsPlayGames You really are a retard. What a biased cunt.

  • @ViolentSpring biased? cunt? sorry im a guy if you wont to be sexist talk to a chick. what u mad bro? im not a retard i dont speek "1337 sp33k" like you

  • @TwoFriendsPlayGames I'm not taking sides on the matter, but I'll simply say that you can't say that it's a fact that japanese voice actors can't perform as well as american voice actors since that's purely based on the opinion of the person listening. In some cases I agree that I think american VAs are better, but in others I would easily choose the japanese VAs, so it's all simply an opinion you have, not a fact by any means.

  • @Vlorsutes as much as i hate my self for doing this i agree on this reply you did

  • Sou mais a voz do Goku em portugues do Brasil ^^

  • You know what, I don't get why so many people have a problem with Kai. It is DBZ for today's youth. What it wrong with it?

  • @CaveStoryAwesomeness because they are blinded by their nostalgia. Plus alot of the americans completely ignore the people who watched it with the original japanese soundtrack. So in their minds, the american is the original and not the other way around. They even think that the voice actors are crappy and changed, when they are the same actors (minus switches) just greatly improved. Kai is pretty much the best version on paper. Those who don't like it come up with the most ridiculous reasons

  • @CaveStoryAwesomeness nothing's wrong with it. people need to get over themselves and realize that it's a cartoon and not mass genocide or something. people like slightly different nuances in the presentation, so they find the dubs that accommodate their interests. for some reason, people get upset over the slightest dumb crap that really doesn't matter. it's a tv show, but you'd be led to believe that Hitler revived and was rampaging if you talk about an English dub with a Jap-only lover.

  • the orginal music is even better than kai.

  • Omg it's like a joke when goku speaks in jap dub

  • @reppakos No its not, the actress that originally portrayed Goku is fucking brilliant.

  • @bellobambino Whys that? Because it's Japanese? He's a super buff 30 something year old adult and he sounds like a 8 year old girl. How is that brilliant?

  • @Joshthe1337 No, you're just an ignorant retard. If you watched the series from the beginning, you'd understand why they kept Masako Nozawa as his voice actor. And he isn't 30 when the series starts, ya dumbfuck. He's 12, and then later on, he's 30. Sean Schemmel can't portray Goku for shit. He's suppose to be a hick, but Schemmel makes him sound like a fucking super hero, who sounds educated.

  • @reppakos agreed. I hate his japanese voice.

  • The Japanese version, is not a dub, you stupid retard. And maybe if you weren't such an ignorant dumbarse, you'd know why he has that voice.

  • @reppakos Japanese is not a dub.

English for example is a dub of the anime.

  • @reppakos Not really

  • @reppakos i sooo fucking agree

  • @reppakos Boyish, childish, overgrown child.

    Goku.

    Dragon ball.

    Nuff said.

  • Japanese = DBZ

    English Dub = KAI

  • @FilMarck I agree with this.

Kai dub fixed the fuckups the Z dub made and with the Kikuchi score , it serves as a replacement to the Z dub.
