"The New Wave" is a song by Daft Punk, released as their first single in 1994 on the Soma Recordings label. It was later released the same year on the UMM label under license from Soma Recordings. Though it was originally a standalone single, the track "The New Wave" eventually evolved into "Alive"

i like alive more but no doubt this is a great track

Daft were so lucky to be signed to soma when you listen to this although a great track i think it could have easily been overlooked so glad it wasnt not just because otherwise we would have no daft but we would have no Cryda artists such as Buffalo Bunch and Le Knight Club no Stardust or Together

Actually I heard this is an early version of Alive. This track feels a bit more playful and ironic than alive, but alive feels like a darker and more serious track. That's my opinion
