You can never replicate anything within miles of the awesomeness the original series produced. In fact, I don't think I laughed one solitary time in the new movie, it was a complete dissapointment to see somebody pretend to be Max and use Don Adams' great catchphrases.
if you haven't seen the original, like me, the movie was quite ok. I was laughing out loud in the theater - mainly cause this guy behind me was hysterical. But i had a really good time. Now that i'm watching the original though, the movie just doesn't measure up.
I'm very old school. I don't think the movie can hold a candle to the original. Don Adams, Barbara Feldon, Mel Brooks and Buck Henry are a tough act to follow. I don't think I'll ever rent the movie again, however "would you believe I've watch the TV episodes a thousand times? Well how about . . .
The TV Show was awesome and the movie was really entertaining too. I like it how with the remake they did a good job by keeping all the traditional things from the Get Smart series like gadgets and characters and catch phrases. The movie will never beat the tv show but it was still good nonetheless
here here, my dad and I grew up on the show, my dad when it first aired and me when he showed it to me, could say I was raised on it :P
and we both loved the movie, we even agree 99 and Max's relationship was done better in the movie, 99 seemed like she was more than just sort of there.
Original series for the win!

The guy on the left, at 8:44 is the original Ronald McDonald!
audiophile55 2 years ago
try 8:45 - King Moody is the guy who played Ronald McDonald - not the guard in the green uniform... ;-)

Agent 13 movie wins merely because it's Bill Murray. Bill Murray ALWAYS wins.
