Glad to see so much love for Jason here. Like you guys have already said... he's written a large percentage of my favorite Sebadoh songs. Check out his solo album if you haven't already- he's an amazing musician. Totally underrated and underappreciated.
I only own copies of Harmocy and Bakesale. I remember when I checked the sleeves and realising all my favourite tracks were written by Lowenstein. Including this gem. Gifted song writer.
In my opinion: this trumps happily divided because of these damn instrumentals! They're so potent. But as far as lyrics, I say this and divided come out on the wash. regardless, its a great song that's definitely one of Sebadoh's top 5. great post!
The lo-fi 'movement' that kind of started with these guys (or at least some of the band members) regularly produced gems of songs such as this one hidden away in their albums.
@isolationeitheror - Jason. It's a Jason song. They virtually never played it live though. I asked him about it (he was in the crowd watching their support band) and he was clearly a bit frustrated by that (it had been their most recent single in the UK).
@Steaminlidz I begged Jason to play this before their show 2 years ago... he said they hadn't practiced it so it wouldn't be on any set lists this tour (seBADoh III re-release). >:(! Best song of all time, imo.
It's about time this showed up on YT. My all time favorite Sebadoh song and not just because I'm not at all amused with humans as well. Too bad the audio's a bit cranky.
What a flashback! Reminds me of a time when life seemed so much easier...

this is the most minimalist, repetitively base song ever. thas why it's boss. it's all about the hook
