  • I'm more a Mazzy fan,but think Opal's Happy Nightmare Baby's a very fine album! The more I listen, the more I like it. No weak songs.Though Kendra Smith doesn't have the vocal subtleties Hope Sandoval has, Kendra's still pretty listenable. I like Opal better than Rain Parade's "Emergency Third Rail Power Trip ",as Opal had a harder edge than Rain Parade's quieter sound which was more '60s pop-y. But hey, Rain Parade's also enjoyable. Can't wait for the long-promised Mazzy album,15 yrs+ later!

  • which SST tape was this on?

  • Good stuff.

  • Arghh. It cuts away at the end, but what an amazing nugget. David, Kendra and Keith will go down in history. Too bad more people haven't heard this, it's truly beautiful.

  • kendra smith sings (ex Dream Syndicate bass)

  • Love the Robbie Krieger-style guitar.

  • Great Song. I remember this from the 120 minutes show. Very cool and Robby Kriegeresque.

  • O B L I O and memories .... she walks in beauty , like the night

  • Big fan of David Roback's work, including Opal. (He was also founder of Rain Parade and Mazzy Star)

Never saw this clip before, but I've lawys loved he tune... Thanks for posting.

  • Greg Ginn had an ear for great music. SST had a great 80s roster.

  • God I love this song. Truly elegant are the aesthetics of the Paisley Underground movement in music.

  • One of the most beautiful videos ever!

  • I remember seeing this video 20 years ago. Thanks for sharing it. Lots of memories now floating on my mind.
