Had my Amp since July, has anyone else had a problems with there tone staying consistent? It almost seems like sometimes when I turn my amp on I like to use the Mesa setting and it seems like some days my sound has more terrible than others, and other days it sounds damn near close to a tube amp with great deepness and tone definition. Anyone else notice this?
Matt who did the Vypyr videos for Peavey pass away recently. I found about it on the Peavey site under Vypyr amps in the user forum. When I contacted Matt a while ago about these amazing amps his encouragement made me pick up a Tube 60 model. Matthias was one hell of a great musician and will be missed.
see wat pisses me off is the 75 wat vypr has a USB line out, but the 15 and 30 dont. if the 15 had a usb out i would buy it rite now. The line 6 has a analog line out wich is rly nice in my opionoin
the rec out gives out the amp signal at a line level. it simulates the sound of amp speakers without using them - works nice for recordings and to increase the volume of the amp (PA-system). in one of my videos (it´s vypyr experience vol. 4) i´m using the rec out - have a look...
kk, but like were do i get a cable like that? and how can i plug that into a big jack? also with the pansera footswitch or w.e, does that a have a normal gutiar out?

sad thing is: it sounds EXACLTY the way you hear it here, which is not the way a real amp is supposed to sound. it has no balls, no real low end. maybe the pre-amp is fine, but either the power-amp or the speaker is crap (or both).
and it's made of plastic. on the other hand: for the price it's a nice toy for beginners who have no clue what an amp is supposed to sound like in person.
please tell me you ordered one of the tube versions and have just been waiting that long cause they were only releases today? cause i want one but need it in a month haha
i returned mine also due to a whistling sound and you have to buy a sanpera footswitch to properly use the thing. soloing was good but could never get a warm tone when chording.(75watt series)
NO not worth it the vypyr is COMPLETELY editable and has tons of effects and stompboxes while the line 6 is just gain treble all that boring stuff without the presets that the 75 and above have GO WITH THE VYPYR
to the dumbass that said a line 6 spider valve would rape this amp you have no idea what yer talkin about i had a spider valve and ya know why i got rid of it? because even with real tubes in it it still sounded like a big pile of over priced shit i played a vypyr the other day and its tha real deal it sounds like an amp should
I just got my Vypyr 30 and was looking for some santana settings, try this. Peavey Classic (red) Pre gain - 6th dot Low - 3rd dot Mid - all the way High - between 3 and 4 Reverb - between 2 and 3 NO FX TubeScrm - Para1 - between 3-4 Para2 - 2 Played on my Fndr Strat HotNoiseless BM with the tone rolled off.
i've tried both spider valve 100 watt combo/head and the 75 watt version of this amp. hands down, peavy produced the best sounding solid state i've heard. line 6 once again has very synthetic effects and distortion (except flextone III amps and of course the vetta amps) after about 3 hours of dialing in (no joke). with the peavy, within about 5 minutes, i had the distortion and the clean i've been searching for. i'm trading in my b-52 lg-100 head(with 400 watt cab) in for this amazing amp.
i've owned many solid state amps including VOX,MARSHALL and LINE 6.this amp, hands down blows them away.why do i say this? if your looking for a athentic tube crunch sound in a inexpensive solid state amp, this is for you.the sound is AMAZING
yep it has 6505 and Krank models. If you ask me I think its a waste having nothing but rock demos on youtube of this amp. The thing is a metal monster and should be demo'd as such. I just bought the 75 watter and it sounds the best running into my PA. Far more realistic than any other modeler I have tried into my PA. Any other modeler I have tried sounds like crap running direct.
Looks great, can't wait to try it. 32 bit, thats more than the Vetta or HD147. And the H&K zentera is 32 bit, and runs about $3500. I'll definatly be trying one out, hopefully buying one for dorm playing ;)
I agree with that, but when I first heard that Peavey was making their own modeling amp, I thought, What's this their Line 6 knock-off? But, when I first saw it, I'm starting to like the Vypyr better than Line 6.
I just bought this amp about a week ago. Im not that good at guitar, but the 6505 in overdrive with the tube effect turned on makes even me sound like a heavy metal expert. Definetly check out this amp!
I bought the 75 watt, GC didnt have anything higher than that... I like the tones and the effects but its difficult to use, takes some time to get used to... I will be investing in a sanpera
I with you Ralph. Peavey has knocked one out of the park with these. Finally, someone doing something new in the digital amp modeling domain: more powerful processors, analog overdrive, a built in looper! Excellent value for the price.
If its still available, download the demo version of Peavey's new revalver software. While limited in some features, the realism of the tones blew me away. Thats what got me thinking about these amps!
All I'm saying is that I'm interested. I have to try it out first.
I've been looking to get a new amp. I like the power spunge that allows a 75W to play softly in a home. I like the many features. The price is so low that I wonder about the quality, but then again it's Peavey so it's probably good.
thats pretty cool is the tube amp version an actual tube amp or is a pre-tube amp thing like a hybrid or valve-state thing? thats pretty cool how it has that loop effect, sorta sounds like hes playing some santana thing anyone know if thats a song or just his own inprov?
It's not a true tube amp, it's a hybrid. The tube is in the power amp. And it's only one tube, so it's likely got some SS tech in the poweramp.
I played the 75W version, which doesn't have a tube, and it sounded freaking amazing. The distortion is so true, and the effects also sound very true. It takes some time to really tweak into the right settings, but if I was in the market for an amp, I would probably get one of these.
Yeah, it obviously won't be very easy to achieve true tube breakup, which is the whole point of tubes. But I've never played a hybrid amp; only SS and tube. And the 75W SS still sounded amazing, and I don't care if it has tubes or not, just whether it sounds good to me.
peavey is badass

the tube in the power amp is probably plate starved like in the vox ad series
just there so they can say it has tubes and fool the newbies
