  • 60BHP is a big power hike from standard. Did you install Carillo conrods or are the standard rods very strong ? I have an SV1000 that makes about 120bhp at the crank but I think it'd blow apart with much over 150BHP with standard rods.

  • Looking at getting a Screaming Eagle V-Rod soon. They are awesome bikes, great lines and style. This bike is pretty cool and I bet quick.

     As far as the comment about a crotch rocket and a dick. I consider Myself a motorcycle rider not a harley rider or a sportbike rider. These people have no self esteem and need a group to hang out with to feel good about their-selves. This pertains 2 both types of riders.

    My personal daily ride is a 1994 zx6E.

  • @alexplantman With the Evolution and Revolution, breakdowns are a thing of the past. HD's now are as reliable as anything out there.

  • Ok, the Harley is sweet. This is coming from a guy that usually hates em. But that's pretty sick! :) So, kudos on that. And all these crock rocket guys that are ragging on it need to chill. Just because you are no brains and all throttle, doesn't make you better. There's a reason guys with cruisers call you guys "Zip Splats" That's what they do... ZIP! Splat... lol Anywho, is the rear fender on that bike carbon fiber??? It at least appeared to be. Again, compliments on the bike. A job well done.

  • Harley Davidson has positioned the gas tank under the seat on this bike. This is standard for the VRSC line.

  • umm, that's what i was doing, too. i'd probably take the vrod over a duke, though. more personality, IMHO, and just my style of bike. not too comfortable on sport bikes and the 125 crank HP would be enough for me to enjoy.

  • Porsche did not make the V-Rod. The V-Rod is designed by Harley Davidson. Porsche had input into the finishing of the VR-1000 racing engine that the Revolution evolved from. Also while I like supercharging the Trask Turbo from New Zealand is a better way to go. You do have to watch the horsepower though. As you approach the two hundred mark the bottom end becomes an issue. Love the bike. I have the VRSCDX with the Trask and have experienced no problems yet .

  • pretty sure if harley davidson invested and developed a full on race motor, they could most definatly blow doors.. would it be comparible to a ducati.. who knows.. look at the fact that a regular joe smoe took a factory "cruiser" and created a true pro streeted style hotrod... fuck yes.. amazing.

  • @weewoodeal i posted that a year ago, haha, but if you're asking which ducati i'm saying makes just shy of 180hp naturally aspirated, it'd be the 1098s which makes 160hp. now don't get me wrong, i like the vrod and their price is starting to look a lot more appealing.

  • vance and hines makes a supercharger kit for vrods. i think its about $5000

  • i like both bikes.. but a inline four is a better motor for racing like most are talkin... v twin motor dont take well to most commen forms of boost.. turbo or supercharged... the air has to startd and stop twice the amount than a four...

    if i turboed my 08 gsxr 1000 it would be out any v twins class easy.....

    but would still love a harley like this...

  • Bring on your inline engines... Harley V-Twin's have won the last 3 Pro-Street Championships in drag racing. Vance and Hines rule drag racing pro-street bikes!

  • This V-twin is based of harley's racing motor. When they prototyped this bike, they used the real motor out of their race bike. It was hell to drive and had like 2" long pipes. After they mocked up the frame and added the motor they took it out early one weekend and drove it around the subdivision and pissed off the neighborhood. Check out the history channel they did an entire hour on this bike. Yes turbo or supercharge any bike is crazy, Triumph Rocket III supercharged is the craziest.

  • I partial to all kind of bikes but there is not much of a challenge in making something fast that already is. By the way try running NITROmethane through your suzuki or kawasaki etc.

    turbos arent that reliable. You get a huge burst of power around like 4500-5000 RPM, and on cars that are drag raced this isnt that great because its near impossible to get all that power to the ground. Superchargers give you the power right from the start of the power-band, making them more reliable. Not beaten on turbos here, if I had something like a ferrari it would be a turbo

  • scratch half of what i previously said... the Harley engine thats in the Vrod was DESIGNED by porsche, but it is NOT a porsche engine. Germans have amazing engineers, a person would have to be really stupid or really stubborn not to take their advice

  • you sir are a moron... The V-Rod hasn't got a porsche engine. The H-D company co-operated with porsche in building a fast muscle engine, and they did, about 98% of this engine is made in the H-D factories, and the 2% are porsche power.

    It's a Harley that appeals to non-Harley riders and the definitive reaction to the Oriental cruiser clone invasion.

  • The cylinder head & valvetrain were co-designed by porsche. The engine is still American Muscle.

    There is a wiseco kit at 2000k only that sends you up to 180hp.

    V Rod Supercharged could easily go to 240hp.
