  • THE AFRO STYLE AT THE END WAS THE CUTEST EVER, CANT WAIT TILL MY NATURAL HAIR GROWS BIG LIKE THT !

  • I have natural hair but I didnt really like the styles presented here. Do you have any other videos for corporate office workers? Lemme know and thanks in advance. =)

  • This is a great video to get ideas!!! Thanks for posting

  • I have nothing against natural hair styles but I'm not interested in the hair styles you've shown here. They're pretty, but just not my styles. =D

  • I know Natural hair isn't easy to take care only because most people have never tried to take care of their hair in it's natural state. But staying strong and determined in taking care of your natural hair means you care about your self, and if you can't care about and love your self for who you are than how do you expect anyone else too.

  • I think people people who perm their hair need to stop denying the fact that they have a dislike for the hair that they were born with. Whether you perm your hair because of maintenance or you think it doesn't look as good on you the point is somewhere deep down you don't like a part of your self and your not confident enough to go against what a lot of people think doesn't look good.

  • 3:10 wtf?

  • 3:53

to much for me but like

    front

  • absolutely!

  • is it still considered going natural if u still use products? hmmm

  • @realboo12 The term going natural means, to stop perming and texturizing th hair.

  • nojo

  • 4:28 ...damn. they dnt make em like that no more ! <3

  • if yu wanna wear we weave, yu can wear it move around !

  • whoa those pics are a bit scary o_o

  • they are.......... idk y anyone gave u thumbs down... unless u mean the natural hairstyles are scary..but i was thinkin the same..about the balding/bald women in the beginning

  • lol yeah, i was thinking about the balding women. i suppose i should have been more specific with my comment, seeing as how some youtube users jump on the bandwagon of handing out "thumbs ups or thumbs downs" based on seeing others do the same.. but yeah, it was the balding women, it would have been a bit illogical to say that beautiful hairstyles are scary.

  • Ok,first off...Im a guy (just wanted to point that out before I rant)

but the hell is up with people and relaxers? I mean....What's wrong with having natural hair??

Why do so many people like putting chemicals in their hair? Why?

If naptural hair is such a disgrace, then why did God create it? Explain that.

I'm trying to grow my hair out because Im tired of looking BALD for all these years.

I enjoy having hair on my head, and if you dont like it...Then go screw yourself.:P

  • well sometimes when you look at it our men tend to go for the women with the permed or relaxed hair. i have gotten negative comments from some men in regards to my natural hair so it takes a lot to go natural

  • @TheSecrecyOfSolitude Not everyone likes their "natural" or "afro" You can't make it seem like someones wrong thats actually very narrow minded. How is that going to look if you dress like like a HxC kid and have some sort of afro thats going to look fucking retarded. not all looks go with the fro/puffy, thats just the way it is

  • @atomicmanv2 Obviously,your jealous.

Afros go good with any style.I could literally wear ANY style in the world, and a fro would look just fine.

You and your "corn rows" or whatever the hell their called, won't look too good with much.

Afros are natural, and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't need to "relax" my hair to look good.

and what in the world is a "HxC" kid?? You "gangsters" and your slang. tisk tisk

  • @TheSecrecyOfSolitude You're such an idiot its funny. HxC is an extreme genre of metal. HARDCORE. I don't even where cornrows you damn inbred. Yeah, You totally won't look like a fucking retard with a huge fro, and metalcore clothes. No one said shit about relaxing hair and when I say natural I'm only talking about just wearing an afro, without a twist out or anything. Afros are just dated. You just assume because I am black that I have cornrows an am into "gangster slang" educate yourself.

  • this is some annoying music....but a nice video

  • lol. a lil bit. i agree it's a good video though.

  • as a licensed stylist all the products shown are from the local drug store!!!

  • perm ripped my hair out. i would go natural for a couple of years then i would want my perm back. ( i was trapped) then I would loose a lot of hair, and the back of my hair would be bald. so i stopped, and i wont do it again. I promised myself this time, it will be for sure!! Natural all the way. I've been natural for a little over two years now. :) and Im happy. Nothing is falling out!!! Yayzers

  • i take gawd damn bak but wtf @0:32 what kind of perm did she used & to be honest it's always good to test the perm out on a little strain hair b4 applying it i use a relaxer my hair is very thick but i always use a regular instead of a super & i always use olive oil nothin else

  • gawd damn @0:20 not to be mean but damn

  • the music is kind of annyoing

  • So sad what we do to ourselves =(

  • There's nothing wrong w. relaxers! There just not meant for everyone like ME(: & i use to get them back to back. my hair is so thin. & now that im transitioning you can see the thickness of my natural hair. I personally think it's worthing; it's HARD but worth it. Roller sets. Flat ironing(once & awhile) Braids(w/ weave) & cucumber water(: & carrot oil is working perfectly for me. Again its hard (im 15, take it from me) but it'll be worth it a year from now!

  • this was a pos natural hair vid. not a neg perm video..I know many people with perms and thats their thing..I am talking about the millions that lose hair and why I love being without the PERM..Some people with natural hair can still lose it i just have not really seem that

  • She stated in her vid she wasn't "dissing" relaxers. It wasn't to make fun, it was to educate.

  • Ohhh, what is that BEAUTIFUL style at 2:09!!!!!?????? I wanna knowowowowow

  • nice hair dos

  • i've never had a relaxer myself... jus press... but i now people with relaxers that have long beautiful hair... but they either dont want to go thru the sometimes day to day maintainance or they jus feel that they look better with straight hair... nothing wrong with that :o)

so why are yall fighting over who is right or wrong?... everyone is entitled to their own opinion

i do think this vid only looked at the negative of relaxers... there are negatives to natural too... (Natural since 1989)

  • I made this video to show my I went natural and why I love natural hair..NOT to dis perms..Only to how what it does to some people hair..No matter what they do..this was a pos natural vid not a neg perm video

  • thats completely understood :o) regardless the vid is informative to what could happen if you neglect your hair or over process it...

  • I worked with NaOH in a lab, it's a very scary compound. I am surprised people put it in their hair 0.o but to each her own I guess *Shrug*. And if there are negatives to "being natural" that's really apple and oranges if you are comparing it to negatives of being relaxed... since they probably have to do more with maintenance than the possibility of burning your scalp/causing you to lose hair (I've never known natural hair to do that, but if you note a case please tell me).

  • @SxExYKiSsEs08 There are no negatives of going natural honey. Perm is a chemical an while some woman may have long healthy (LOOKING) hair as they get older their hair is going to get weaker because of the perm. Whether it's sooner or later the perm will mess up your hair and your scalp. Being natural is walking around with the hair you were born with.

  • @CurlyKoki - as i said everyone is entitled to their own opinion...

but you obviously didnt read my whole comment or else you wouldnt have put such nonsense on here toward me (a year later)... if you really think about it, everything you put in your hair (unless it is 'all natural' of course) is a chemical i.e. grease, shampoo, conditioner... a perm that is taken care of can do more good than being natural if you dont have the time to be natural... cause it is time consuming lol

  • Hair is beautiful no matter what is done to it.... People do what makes them feel best.

  • people hair fall out with relaxers when they dont know wth they are doing and dont take care of the shit. i've had a relaxer for 5 years now and im more than fine... i think natural hair is beautiful though and i firmly believe that people can and should do what ever they want with their hair because its their hair.. no matter what type of hair you have you have to take care of it..

  • Perms effect different people in many ways..Some people lose their hair no matter what they do..

  • I think people should do what ever they please with their hair.. emphasis on THEIR HAIR!!!

  • Natural is So Beautiful, God If I see another black girl with a gel drenched updo, bob 250 pound weave flip over..lol I think I will scream. I want dreads, cruch twisted with fabulous auburn brown highlights:)

  • i've been natural for 10 months now and all i can say is i LOVE my natural hair i didn't do a bc but my permed ends are almost gone and my hair has grown so much its so much thicker and i love it

  • OK, so I'm only 54 seconds in and all that I can say is WOW!....and this is why I won't touch that white stuff for a while..(hopefully never)!

Does anyone know how to create that amazing faux hawk?! If so please share!

  • amazin.... simply amazin

  • There is nothing stupid about loving the hair God blessed you with. It's stupid to burn your damn head with relaxers (acid) to get your hair strait. Natural hair is a gift to black women.

  • i dont understand a single thing you wrote. proof read, then post. thanx.

  • whos to say whos smart about doing things to their hair...its THEIR HAIR...do wut u plz...some ppl love natural hair, some ppl love permed hair...neither choice makes tha other stupid...i say dont knock either because what works for you may not work for your neighbor...that's y God put it on your head...for you to choose what to do with it yourself...

  • lol...u got issues!!...i guess u got a dick in your mouth and a foot up your ass...lol

  • 4:05 is the toughest hairstyle, i love it, it so exotic

  • I've been going natural now for more than 5 years and never thought about cutting off what permed hair I had just to let my natural grow out. I want long hair not bald. If you keep it propery cleaned and moisturize you can minimize any breakage. I'm not locking my hair but prefer natural hanging corkscrew twists. I like that I can pull up in a style. takes time to retwist after washing but I hated sitting there for perms only for my hair to drawup after the first sweating episode! softer hair!

  • hey im tryna decide if i should go natural...if i have had a perm can i then go natural after it wears off, or do i also have to cut it off?

  • Hey, when you have a perm, it wont go away. You can do what I did which is grow my hair out by wearing braid extensions and hair weaves. Then when you are ready, cut the permed hair off. That way you don't have to just go around with no hair on your head.

Going natural will be be great. It's liberating!

  • i trasitioned using curly sets. I rolled it up once a week and didnt have to style it often.

  • thanx hun

  • natural hair is the shit

  • I love a woman with Natural hair.

  • i dont understand how african pride can create a relaxer???? That company should be creating products to help our hair, not harm it.....

  • thats not really an african company thats a chineese brand, however western civilization has affected some women in africa to when it comes to beauty

  • its 2008 weave is wack throw that shit in the garbage shave yourself bald and regrow naturally....

  • I a relaxer doesn't do that to people hair....not taking care of your hair does that!

  • Dabaddeststylistever: And putting something on your head that is so toxic that you MUST wear gloves to apply it or you will burn your hands is "taking care of the hair"? Okay.

Thats when it dawned on me ten years ago that I was perpetuating the myth. If I got to wear gloves to put it on my head, why put it on my head in the first place. As a chemical stylist, I can see how you would be biased though.

  • So glad I've never had a perm. I've been natural my whole life and enjoyed every bit. I'm proud of those who have made the decision to stop lying to themselves. And kinky twist are the best when your to busy to take care of your fro.

  • look ppls are arent ment for every kind of perm. that always doesnt mean ur hair is gonna fall out theres regular perms and super if ur hair is thin but nappy its ment for a reg. and if u have thick nappy/wavy/curly hair its ment for a super. trust me i no im a hairstylist!!!!!!! dnt believe everything u see

  • It was sickening seeing those bald headed women really , is that what perm does to a scalp?

  • No not all the time. It can though, especially when routine practice when getting a perm is to "take it" when it starts burning. You get told " just wait a little longer" while it's burning your scalp. Maybe that was just my home experience. There are things you can do to prevent this. You can "neutralize" it when it starts burning and reperm 3 weeks later and repeat until your hair is straight or you can grease/or oil sheen the entire scalp first, wait 10-15 min before application

  • Ok this is just my opinion but i dont think there is anything natural about coloring your un-relaxed hair. i think changing the color is also perpetuating the myth that your hair is not beautiful "as is" so when i see an otherwise natural person with an un-natural dye job it's something i always chuckle about. by the way, i have been natural 9 years coming up in december. did the BC in '99. i have had locks that grew down to my elbows, recently cut 'em off & now growing out a free form fro.

  • i died my natural hair jet black does that mean i am not satisfied with myself

  • It means whatever YOU want it to mean. Like i said, dyeing hair isn't natural in MY opinion.

But if you're asking me if i think you are unsure about yourself, then that question alone speaks volumes. *shrug*

  • dyeing your hair isnt natural and its a fact, however when it comes to a cultural sense, africaans were the first to dye thier hair, not to look lke another race but as a form of cosmetic, just because we were in africa doesnt mean we didnt groom ourselves, now i am not saying its ok to go out and buy a red yaki weave, no thats not cultural, but we have been dyeing our hair we were the first cosmetoligists, any way i dont dye my hair but i just had to put my two cents in

  • Dying your hair doesn't take away the natural curl pattern of your hair. I dyed my hair and it is still natural and beautiful. I just wanted to mix it up a bit. As long as no relaxers go on my head or I don't torture my hair with curlers and flat irons then I'm good and natural..

  • ive been natural for about a year now and i love it...im so proud of my curly hair..whoever said straight hair was the definition of beautiful hair?

  • i went natural at the beginning of this year and i love how everything turned out.. my hair actually grew faster than it would with permin and stuff

and my hair is curly some people think im mixed but im full African

I was scared at first but now im happy i did it

  • Thanks for all these videos; I went natural months ago via the big chop and don't regret it! Videos like this and looking at natural hairstyles and reading about natural hair helped me make the decision. Rock on!

  • how didi they do the hair on 2.45?

  • iF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THE BIG CHOP CAN YOU GET LOCK EXTENTIONS AND LET THE PERM JUST GROW OUT? I HAVE A BALD PHOBIA. bUT i WOULD LOVE TO HAVE LOCKS.

  • awesome mohawk. I have an braided mohawk as well but it's braided all the way to the end with added kinky hair on just the tip it's pretty cool..I don't do perms.

  • I wanna go natural but I'm scared!

  • It nothing to be scared of your just being your natural self..

  • So what exactly does it mean to go natural? No products or healthier products?

  • everyone is not the same but for me it means all natural/healthier products and no chemicals like perms

  • 4:36. beutiful

  • Majority of our clients are natural and we've tried a million things. Reading ingredients makes a huge difference. looking for things like avocado oil, silk proteins, aloe! aloe is HUGE! you know when you want to get your hair damp but don't want to wash or even condition it because you're trying to keep your style? well instead of using water, fill a spray bottle with pure aloe juice (from any health store). try it and trust me it helps!! We use miss jessies and jessicurl products.<3them

  • I BC 1 yr ago and my hair is still course, brittle, dry, hard to manage, and looks unhealthy.I've been wearing kinky twist with extensions because I don't know what to do to my hair.I want my hair to be soft and manageable. Can any one give me some tips?

  • what do you use to shampoo your hair..dont use any shampoo with laural sulfate and make sure you deep cond. every month and cond after every shampoo.. you can use veg. glyrin and water mix every day it will help..and make sure you cond. and moisture you hair in extensions everyday..plus drink water and eating right helps

  • Do you know the texture of hair that you have? Also RusticBeauty and Najahface on youtube are pretty knowledgeable about hair care for natural hair. Also I recommend that you try natural hair care salons they are in a lot of major cities, you can look them up on google so girl have hope!

  • I mixed in a spray bottle Water, Burt's Bee Conditioner, Shea butter(melted down),blessed olive oil(blessed by my pastor) and Fantasia ic Leave in Hair and scalp Treatment.I washed my hair with Burt's Bee conditioner. My hair is so soft I keep touching it! There is hope! Maybe this might work for you also. Can't hurt to try it.

  • SOUNDS LIKE u just have dry scap or dandriff like me. drink water like its crack and lay low on the shampoo or find a natural brand. i have found that just skipping the shampoo and condish and just rinsing with a deep scrub is the bomb. find a good scap spray for the dandriff/dry scalp. you know weaves can damage ur natural hair as well. keep an eye on that too.

  • that coments for anita sorry

  • hey im 19 years old and i am in the process of going natural for about a month and a half. I was getting perms since I was about 10 and i really did some damage to my hair overall. with permas my hair is weak, thin, and dry. natural is the best way to go! My new growth is about 1 inch or so and i am debating wether to do the big chop or just keeep wearing braids until its longer..

  • do the big chop

  • Look back to before relaxer was invented and you will find African and African American women with long luxurious thick hair. Healthy hair is very hard to come by these days with everyone perming their hair. It makes me sad to see little girls 5 and up with perms in their hair already because their mamas don't want to be bothered. There is nothing more beautiful than a head of unprocessed hair.

  • i agree with you

  • thats so true i am all natural now i get my hair in box braids no weaves or heat its the best feeling in the world to be me smile

  • that usually happens when perm or relaxer is not neutralized properly or left in to long that happened to my grandma...

  • They are not bald because of perms!! Dont even try to blame it on the perm! They're bald cause they wasn't takin care of they shit! Keep it real yall!

  • True everyone hair is not the same..But in the video..iam taking about the millions of people that do have hair problems becasue of perms...Im not blaming the perm..i am taking about the facts that are true for some people..Some people "take care" of their permed hair and that shit still come out..Everyone is not the same..so i am keeping it real..i am not nor do i want to speak for everyone..these are my views-but thanks for your comment its good to have both points of view.

  • Relaxers can damage your hair especially the over the counter crap. So many people have tried to do it themselves and end up damaging their skin too. Many of these products are made by the white man so many of it is not tested often

  • Those women are not bald because of relaxers.

They seem to be suffering from alopecia.

  • May be..may be not..I just picked those pic as a example..

  • 00:42 is a great example of what perms can do to some people.

  • For TooCuteForWords: 4) Leave your hair out (ideally for a week, if not at least a weekend) so that it has a chance to rest 5) keep braiding or cornrowing your hair until it's all natural. I must also stress the benefits of eating well (balanced diet with fruits and vegetables and if possible organic milk) and drink plenty of water 2 litres (6-8 glasses a day) is a good recommendation. It helpds your hair, nails and well you grow!

  • lol.. well i think im mixed soo.. lol i lok more white than black sorta.. lol.. so du u so do we i mean... lol i have to agree and disagree

  • why are you on this video. Seriously the parents must have forgot to press lock.

  • p.s I miss my afro puffs :( (i've gone dread)

  • I believe if ur born wit certain hair dats how its suppose to be and dont mess wit it by perming or addin heat or w.e 2 make it straight.I found dat wen I hot combed my hair it wud smell and I'd hear sizzling. Now I m jus happy wit me cuz black hair is da bomb deres so much u can do wit it and it stays neat doesnt get all frizzy & static like and damaged.

  • LOVE THAT BRAIDED MOHAWK!

  • it has everything to do with it...

    you should be more educated

  • I was replying to a comment about someone calling a brand of hair relaxer African Pride. Since I went natural I felt like I can have more versatility--even go straight(without relaxers) and still be proud of who I am. I know about the Australian aboriginals who are dark skinned with red and blonde naturally straight hair. So enlighten me. Because I do not believe a box of relaxer should be called African Pride.

  • even when i had relaxed hair, i always looked at the "african pride" box and wondered how it was prideful to relax your hair, but people in Africa are the least bit worried about a relaxer.

  • my sis stumbled on this vid & she said it was a blessin, as she has been natural 4 a yr and wonderin wat style 2 hav! lovin the back ground tune 2!!

  • lol I already started going natural but if I would have seen this video(specially the motion* product) I would have jumped the ball much sooner!!...love the statement your making lol

  • Everything is for everybody. Many blk people have eczema & a chemical like a perm can cause severe burns theat lead to breakage. I should know I had eczema and didn't know. and over time the burns became unbearable. Given My have was never down my back but before the per my hair wss diverent and about 3 inches longer now. after a perm your hair will never be the same that is true. And I whode they would study the long effects of perms on black hair and skin. "SHOW one study" Thst is suspicious

  • yea i got eczema but jus un mi arms

  • I hate when ppl try to say that its the relaxer making their hair go out when really its their own lazyness..ppl just need to learn how to take care of their hair and stop getting relaxers every time they see new growth and get them every 8 weeks and condition and moisturize their hair better..I've been getting relaxers all my life and i have way longer hair than half the women in this video..

  • guess you didnt get the memo that even if your natural hair is long it appears much shorter than it actually is...there is nothing wrong with short hair...just look at the older women in the group home that have been getting relaxers all their life...Bald...others, not so much..at least thats my experience, whats yours?

  • Im only 16 but i've never had a problem been getting them since i was 5 or 6 ...i have cousins that have short almost bald hair too because they get too many relaxers and nobody really takes care of their hair its sad but i dont think its just the relaxer its other thigs too but basiclly when ppl go completley bald from it i think its cause of overprocessing and not taking care of their hair

  • yes i greee with the not taking care of your hair...but just think about it...totally off subject....lets say you knew there was rat poisoning in toothpaste, but at small amounts doesnt kill you. would you still use it. OH wait we do that now! Im just saying to be healthier, what sane person would diliberatly put harmful chemicals in their body. It's just being healthier if nothing else. You cant even touch it with your hands. Have you looked at the ingredients in relaxers and reasearched them?

  • no honey its not the way it is. its straight, have you ever seen your self completely natural? Do you understand MONEY is more important than what people care about. its just like adding mineral oil and pertroleum to stretch out products. another off topic example. meat is pumped with steroids that go in our body. you have to care about yourself just please research what you use and you will see. have you researched the ingredients? and i can compare rat poisoning crappy stuff in small amounts

  • i meant my hair is FINE the way it is sorry...but yea my moms been getting relaxers since she was 17 and now shes 47 and her hair is still pretty shes not bald...but yea i'll check out the chemicals..thanx for caring :)

  • thanks for listening :-)

  • I kind of agree cuz as soon as i started getting relaxers my hair started to break off and i caught that and stopped getting them and now my hair is long again.

  • I honestly have never seen anyone that went natural or who were already natural that looked unattractive. They were all beautiful. There are some amazing styles on here too. I never knew how to do my hair tho...lol. I usually just wear it in a fro or a puff, or two french braids. But I still love your videos b/c they help to uplift BW and I'm going to try to attempt some of these styles...lol.

  • Nappystar25, I love the unity and the beauty. These videos are so touching b/c our hair is such a big issue in racist America, among other things. I have been natural for 3years and I absolutely love it. Sadly, I do not see enough black women going back to their beautiful natural hair and that breaks my heart. Every time my sister goes to get a perm, I want yell at her. It's getting harder and harder to sit back and just watch the damage BW are doing to themselves...and for what?

  • THIS VIDEO IS SO TRUE !!!

  • I am trying to grow my hair back natural becus beofre the relaxer i had puffy long hair down my back, now that i have a relaxer my hair is around my neck and it has gotten shorter and shorter. I do not wanna cut my hair, but I wanna grow it back natural, anybody have any advice???

  • What i did was quit the relaxer and just get it prest with NO relaxer. then just cut a little at a time. now i just got my hair cut off last week now im like fully natural!! my hair short but it will grow back.

  • Ok, so I cut just like the ends of my hair a lil bit at a time??? Becus I did not want to do a major cut!!!

  • 1) Get single braids done 2)Take them out after approx 2 months 3) Go to a natural hair salon and have your hair deep conditioned and cut of at least 2 inches

  • and 4:07 is SICK!!! how she do that????lol can i get this pic so i can take it to a hair dresser???

  • only way I know how to keep my hair out at its full length is if i double strand twist, but my hair is about as long as the girl at 3:01n n i don't know the HOW TO of all those cute styles (like at 3:33) !!! lol

  • Been wearing a relaxer since I was very young. Never had an issue with a relaxer. Never had a problem growing hair. Some ppl don't know how to maintain a relaxed style. Plus everyone can't take chemicals.But--anyway I'm transitioning right now. I belong to a hairboard (long hair care/nappturality).I've seen SO many natural in there with coily, curly, type hair well--it made me VERY curious about my own.I have about 3 inches of NG and Im ready to BC.

  • I love this vid,, it hit home with me,,I have been wearing my hair short for the last few yr but in a perm still,, a few months back I began to let my hair grow out so I could cut off the permed ends,, an just about a week ago I cut of the perm,, my hair is very short now I say only about 1/2inch long all over,, but its natural now an I'm loving it!!! No more chems for me

  • ive cut all the perm off in in high school back in '00. Got happy when it grew back and permed it for prom in '02. Then cut the perm off again at the end of 02 and ive been perm free for now 6 years and its great. ive tried almost every style but I see some styles that i want to try. HAIR NAPPY BUT IM HAPPY BABY!

  • The beginning of this video really hurt me but its true. I've been going naturally again for the second time now and I'm not going back ever. No more hair crack!

  • it means white person

  • i am transitioning---- and it feels great!

  • u sound really racist when u call people the n word. are u racist? im black and proud. you jus dont say that on the internet where everyone can see! u mak me sick.

  • Thank God for the process I went thru!!! The illness of Lupus the humility of slowly becoming bald, opened my mind and the journey of real african pride began.!I struggled. Yeah Sistah's! Transitioning from short cute cuts,to hair lost, glue ins, sewn in weaves!Trying to hide my beauty Ohhhh surrender! Nat-ura-lizin' today not neu-tral-izin' lovin every inch of my longgggg locs no baldness only beauty

  • My mom has lupus, and she hides her hair under wigs, she is natural, but has thin spots cause she been permin 2 long, do you have any suggestions that I can give her?

  • peppermint oil(very small amount or it will burn) mixed with another like jojoba oil, the peppermint stimulates the scalp and it feels tingly for a couple of minutes after its applied. I mainly used it on my edges because when i had perms and some micro braids the edges fell out and wouldn't grow back.

  • nappystar: How do I get my slide on youtube? I love this song by the way. I'm trying to put my powerpoint on here!

  • i use windows movie maker to make my vids then i upload them

  • Stay tru 2 nature and nature will stay tru 2 u, abandon her[Mut Neter, mother nature] and she'll abandon u.

    Hotep goddess

  • What asshole had the nerve to call a perm African Pride? lol.

  • chea, most def the natural look is better, fuck chemicals, that shit makes you weak...

  • I am so happy i am natural sista we are so on fire, and not for Perm!!!LOL You rockin your hair girl go ahead!!!!

  • love the hairstyle at 4:39 so pretty the color is also

  • It is so freeing to be natural! I always got perms because society makes it seem like black hair is nappy and ugly. Through going natural I found out the opposite. I even found out that I had curly hair that I would've never got a chance to see if I hadn't went natural. Black hair is beautiful. Th ehardest part is the initial cut. I did it 2 years ago. Now my hair is in the middle of my back. Perms always burned and I'm glad that is over for me!

  • same here it's nothing wrong with people loveing themseves.

  • I am proud of myself for getting away from the hair-crack. Plus, when I used relaxers in the past, it would burn some parts of my scalp and one time, it burned my skin right below my hair-line. It healed, but sh**, I should of woke up a long time ago and said to myself: "Well hell, if it makes me burn, turn...lol. I love the hairstyle at 1:20!!! Aw, I miss my mini-afro.

  • How did they lose that much hair?! They must have followed the directions wrong on the box or somethin, right? I get my hair professionally relaxed at the salon and I've never had my hair fall out like that... but I'm still thinking about going natural though regardless of whether my hair falls out or not. Because natural hair is pretty :)

  • actually saki- Chemically Treated Hair can fall out rather its done "Right" or Not. Chemicals COULD always react badly on anyones hair. Getting it Professionally done Just Lessens the Chance

EXAMPLE: My Aunt-in-Law Got a relaxer done in a Shop and she said it was like her hair "Melted off" and supposently it WAS a Child Relaxer Kit.

  • Oh, God. I'm sorry to hear that. Can it grow back? That just makes me want to go natural even more.

  • Umm, in Most cases i would think Yes!..BUT if it caused a Deep Rooted Problem it might Not come back...i Hate chemicals so for me it is NOT worth the risk but for people who'd like to Continue to Relax/Perm their hair i'd say Space them out as MUCH as possible and Listen to your body, if your getting Scabs and Burns/Excessive Hair Shedding..STOP....

Saki if you DO decide to go Natural i can assure you, That you WONT regret it!..I know i didn't; its Been 4 great years :)

  • Thank you :)

  • omg...whoever goes to the shop is brave. my mom does hair and is certified. i would never trust the shops. lol, they would probably cut my ears off, u never know cuz ppl now a days b hiring ppl from off the streets like they r certified and pros, but do not know the first step about putting a perm in properly. then again i guess u get it how u can

  • i thought about going natural, but my bf would kill me, i str8n my hair but it is naturally wavy, but i did do the big cut for myself on XMAS day! lol, i tell ppl whatever because its just hair, and with that i got better appreciation for myself

  • Nice vid, ireally like the hair style at 1:15, oh and does anyone know the song that's playing?

  • India Arie...i think strength, courgage and wisdom...it's from her first cd...hope that helps!

  • i like this video! it will inspire many confused and curious souls like mine! the girl at 3:08 scared me though! overall i appreciate this!

  • I JUST cut off about 6 inches of my hair because it was permed. I now have a fro that is about 3 inches long. I feel SOOO liberated! now I just need to figure out how to style it:)
