qcowling. packwheels are MUCH better and faster on a cohesive soil such as clay if your soil moisture is at + - 2% of optimum. with a cohesive soil, you're "kneading" the particles together, not vibrating them which is easier when you work with a granular.

i like a vibra plate for shallow street work because of the clean finish you get but for most applications i like the wheel better myself
