@TheHorseyGymnast Her routine was difficult enough that she didn't need a more difficult dismount to start out of a 10. Ending with an easier dismount was acceptable in the code. Also, "they weren't that good then"? Did you see her german giants? Or watch the other gymnasts at these games, like Kim Gwang Suk, or Tatiana Gutsu? I'd hardly say they weren't good then!

Now I see they were more artistic, more original, more creative than most gymnasts today. It was just the skill level comparison I was making, as skills have gotten harder and harder and more risky and dangerous over the years. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I loike the commentators who were in the 1991 Worlds video of her better, actesmore excited to see her and didn't point out every flaw

I hate how the commentator keeps pointing out the flaws..so annoying. Li Li rocked the uneven bars and was much more pleasant to watch than gutsu.

That reflects that the commentator has no insight to share so she focuses on the flaws. She is incompetent as far as commentary is concerned.
