@guanengkongkang if you have the normal windcloud the suspension is same as mk2 jetta or golf so sports suspension from those cars will fit. I used a bilstein shock and spring kit that china dragon racing had on the shelf. I don't know if there are any decent chinese made parts available now - at the time there was nothing. wheels and tyres also different - i used 15 inch wheels from the latest chinese jetta king with something like a 195/50-15 dunlop tyre - china dragon in shanghai.

i have seen the crash test vids, they looked terrible. however, i conducted my own test one night on the huangdao to qingdao expressway when I ran the car under the back of the truck. i walked away and the car was repairable.
The chery driver was pretty good and the ferrari was giving up enourmous amounts of time to going slower than he could. Put me in that ferrari and things would look a bit different. Or put me in a 92 honda civic hatchback with a k24 turbo mid engine powering the rear wheels (my daily driver) or a z06 corvette (I beat these every day easy in street races, even in drag races)

Now, mabye im just retarded but I have put over 10,000 track racing miles on my civic which by the way puts out 429whp with a 2.4L engine compared to a ferrari which puts out 400 crank horsepower out of a 3.6 and just broke from 7100 street miles and maybe even broke once or twice before that, or maybe not, that last statement is entirely speculation.
Based upon your statement I can conclude with personal evidence that my japanese car has undergone much greater stress for a longer period of time than that ferrari did, unless the driver decided to shift from 180mph into first gear. The only thing I have done to my car is replace brake pads, yet most race cars will never see 5,000 miles without a complete failure. This ferrari in my opinion would not last 500 miles the way i have driven my civic.
I can safely say that asian engineering is significantly better than italian engineering. But if you want to use your brain or possibly just let me use mine to open your eyes for you, If this was a comparison between German engineering and Chinese engineering I might favor German, and all of my comparisons were from my personally owned Japanese car which means that it may or may not be entirely accurate to make a statement saying that Japan and China have equivalent engineering ability.

I have an MeNG in mechanical engineering. Thanks to my calculation you need about 600bhp 420mm air-vented carbon dscs and the best KONI suspension that cost about 12000 pounds. Then you can start thinking about playing with F430. Oh yes. Only then. It's only maths. And i shall not speak about downforces.

It could be wrong, or you could be a genius, but normally you wouldn't have an MEng at 19. If you had one you might know that unless it's a very specialised one it wouldn't teach you how to calculate what the cost of the brakes or suspension would be to make a saloon car compete with a ferrari.

The important point is that more expensive sports cars tend to be higher performance than cheaper cars, but modifications are another thing - sometimes it costs more to modify than to buy, sometimes the other way around. But if you are an enthusiast, you will always have more fun if you can build it as well as drive it.

Asking 119 grand (pounds) for the fezza (5700miles on the clock). My Chery cost about 6 grand new, and about 2k on the mods. And I still made him look like a twat and people are still laughing a year later. Maybe my maths is not as good as yours but I thought it was a good effort.
twin weber dcoe carbs, 285 degree cam, emerald programmable ecu (ignition), straight through exhaust, bilstein shocks/springs, audi 100 calipers on santana 2000 vented discs with ferodo ds2000 pads, champion iridium plugs, jetta 15 inch wheels with dunlop direzza 195/50 tyres. chinadragonracing dotcom did the suspension and exhaust, I did the engine and brakes work myself, including jetting the carbs and setting the ignition and cam timing during several long nights with g-meter &wideband lamba.
wot? you did it without roling road? c'mon you must have at least done it for the cam timing. and y the emerald when u already have twin webbers? wots the bhp of the engine? anyway I reckon the result was due to lack of talent from the 430 driver rather than from the car.
i wouldn't recommend it without rolling road, but the nearest tuning shop with a rolling road to shanghai at the moment is in guangzhou, it's 2 days drive away.
emerald was used to run the ignition - i tried using the stock ecu to control ignition but it had issues especially at idle and appalling fuel consumption. the next step was going to be to go back to fuel injection but run by the emerald then fit a turbo - i had things lined up but decided to leave china before i had time to do it.
You could install a MSD ignition system instead of forking out for a whole ecu but since you are going down the FI route soon, you aint losing owt. show us how you car looks like.

F430 is V8. In any case the top gear comparason was prety damn staged. If you have a reasonable driver in the fast car you can make the slower one look as fast as you like and its evern easier with a crap driver :-). Cheers. Of course the other factor is that I had to build the car based on what I could fit in my suitcase during 2 or 3 return trips to the uk each year plus what I kind find/ use / get made in china whilst still keeping up with a day job that involved a lot of travel and keeping out of trouble with the wife and two kids.
Even with those limitations, I would have had it running a T3 turbo by now if I'd stayed out there.

you'd probly be suprised to know that david richards owns a morris traveller but i bet your thoughts are too shallow to comprehend this. Once you've grown up & got ur MEng honour u'll understand. nobody here says ferrari is rubbish but shows that with some effort even a humble lump of metal can have its moment of glory (can't discard the fact that the driver is pretty good tho).

With £3000 - 5000k you can have a car that will stick to most cars like glue around a tight circuit like the one in the video ;) Grow up and let us know when you gain a real qualification

MAte, you've really gone into a rant. All your views are quite reasonable. However, I do doubt that you are as well versed in the subject as you claim. Your youtube profile says age 19. It could be wrong, or you could be a genius, but normally you wouldn't have an MEng at 19. If you had one you might know that unless it's a very specialised one it wouldn't teach you how to calculate what the cost of the brakes or suspension would be to make a saloon car compete with a ferrari.

Firstly the guy who wrote the comments was my big brother. Secondly I saw 100 times his comments and he said nothing about cheap cars and he did'nt claim that they don't stick well on a track. He made a point about supercars and Yes they are the ultimate cars today. The only cars i can think of catching F430s is a trackday car. (Caterham, Ariel etc)

Very eloquent post my friend. Are you sure he is the big brother and not the other way around! The important point is that more expensive sports cars tend to be higher performance than cheaper cars, but modifications are another thing - sometimes it costs more to modify than to buy, sometimes the other way around. But if you are an enthusiast, you will always have more fun if you can build it as well as drive it.

Saleem, buggati (veyron), Ferrari F50 (old but fast), koenesiggeg CCX (and CCXR!!!), Lamborghini (murcielago probably), Porsche GT, Mclaren F1 (not the actual mclaren F1 alonso drives...), or maybe perhaps a Mercedes SLR too...

I was looking at an F430 in a showroom whilst picking up parts for my Esprit last week. 490bhp. So I wouldn't need 600 would I. It's only maths.
Asking 119 grand (pounds) for the fezza (5700miles on the clock). My Chery cost about 6 grand new, and about 2k on the mods. And I still made him look like a twat and people are still laughing a year later. Maybe my maths is not as good as yours but I thought it was a good effort.

twin weber dcoe carbs, 285 degree cam, emerald programmable ecu (ignition), straight through exhaust, bilstein shocks/springs, audi 100 calipers on santana 2000 vented discs with ferodo ds2000 pads, champion iridium plugs, jetta 15 inch wheels with dunlop direzza 195/50 tyres. chinadragonracing dotcom did the suspension and exhaust, I did the engine and brakes work myself, including jetting the carbs and setting the ignition and cam timing during several long nights with g-meter &wideband lamba.

wot? you did it without roling road? c'mon you must have at least done it for the cam timing. and y the emerald when u already have twin webbers? wots the bhp of the engine? anyway I reckon the result was due to lack of talent from the 430 driver rather than from the car.

i wouldn't recommend it without rolling road, but the nearest tuning shop with a rolling road to shanghai at the moment is in guangzhou, it's 2 days drive away.
emerald was used to run the ignition - i tried using the stock ecu to control ignition but it had issues especially at idle and appalling fuel consumption. the next step was going to be to go back to fuel injection but run by the emerald then fit a turbo - i had things lined up but decided to leave china before i had time to do it.

You could install a MSD ignition system instead of forking out for a whole ecu but since you are going down the FI route soon, you aint losing owt. show us how you car looks like.

F430 is V8. In any case the top gear comparason was prety damn staged. If you have a reasonable driver in the fast car you can make the slower one look as fast as you like and its evern easier with a crap driver :-). Its also quite obvious that neither seem to be that good, showing a complete lack of understanding of lines. All in all, a resounding meh...

well probly it can be true since if you remember Mitsubishi already beat up lamborghini in a topgear episode that was shown, and Evo VIII beating a Murcielago, so depends mostly on the curves since as the f430 has a rear engine with 12 cylinders [or less i don't recall it] the driver of it has to be checkin up the tail all the times since it's to much weight but it's just my point of view, it can be done

yeah...ok. this is very staged. note how at 1:31, the Chery get too close and the f430 takes off. the f430 driver is babying it to make the Chery look like it can keep up, but i'm sorry, the f430 would eat any Chery, even these modified Cherys(Cheries? lol) given they had equal drivers.
