@YTAntiTheist I agree. Yeah, it obviously wasn't a real shark (although when it was underwater, it DID look pretty real,) but a CGI shark would have looked cheap and stupid. Like in the film 'Dog Soldiers', they didn't have CGI werewolves, they were people in masks....And they looked scary as fuck!

This movie is a Shark classic. Other movies tried to imitate Jaws like Shark Attack l ll and lll.

Not as good though.

This movie would have scared the shit out of people of ever wanting to go swimming in the sea again. An attack from a Great White close to shore is rare, and most likely to be a Bull Shark instead . I also believe the Megaladon is not as extinct as marine biologist say and may still be lurking in the deep .
