if I'm totally new to this, should I get an mpc 1000 or a maschine or something else entirely? right now I was thinking mpc 1000 not only because its not too expensive and stays in my price range, but also because it seems less software oriented then the maschine, which from what i've seen looks far more complicated to pick up on. any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah he has fast fingers (memorization and muscle memory), BUT most of what he does is super repetitive and could be far more easily accomplished by setting up simple loops instead of individual samples that are a fraction of a second.

All he's done is make more work for himself, but that seems to be his main attraction... his speed.

You seem very confortable with both maschine & the mpd, but MPD pads are way much "harder" to trigger, did you modify the MPD pads so they're more sensitive?

@chuyreal Considering Maschine and the Beat Thang are both computer softwares u will have a little trouble trying to use them with no computer. They have been talking about a Beat Thang module and their is a prototype but it seems like it will never be produced comercially and it sucks anyway.
