Hi Diana, Yes I have been on eating restrictions. Some days/weeks it seems to help and other times it doesn't. But, I know what you are talking about. Gluten, Sugar, Red Meat, etc. When did you start to loose the bulk of your water retention? I tell you I refer to myself as a 'water balloon'. Once gained 10 pounds overnight to the point that my pants (elastic) would no longer fit. All fluid. That is my greatest heartache is the weight. Nothing has helped before with it. 'Preciate ur answers!
@dewdropsnsnowflakes I hear you about the food restrictions. I'm so strict about gluten, and then some days I get the migraine anyway. Then, I think, gheesh. I should have just eaten the donut and pizza, because I got this darned headache anyway. But, there must be other stuff that contributes to the symptoms. I think in FMS there are viral, bacterial and fungal co-infections. I am plagued by yeast infections. I've done several rounds of HumaWorm. (It has helped with overall symptoms.) And...
@dianacwolf ...another thing that has helped with the overall fluid retention has been going on Iodoral. Have you ever heard about it? You can Google it, or look it up on Amazon, because people there wrote a lot about their experience with it. There is also a good website called Breast Cancer choices where folks write about it. Its a combination of Iodine and Potassium and used for lots of stuff. Basically, it boosts the thyroid, gets rid of fibrocystic breast thingies, and it helped me...
@dianacwolf ...with fluid retention. At first, it makes you super thirsty, and the fluid retention gets worse. Its not an instant thing. You have to be on it a while. You also have to find your dose. And, you are suppose to get an Iodine Loading Test before starting on it. I already knew my levels weretoo low due to an ER visit, and the bloodwork done there. I have found it to be a helpful supplement. I take a lot of vitamins, etc. and less of the prescrip. drugs. They work better for me.
Hi Diana-I have written before. I am 3 months into the protocol. I have read the book now. Questions, please: How long on the guai before you felt more good days than bad days % wise? I am definitely experiencing 'reversal symptoms'. Very hard but very hopeful! What was the highest dose you took to illicit reversal signs? Do you have 'parts of days' that are rotten and then almost poof! 'part of the day' when you feel great all in one day? Plez send info so I can read your mag article.
@dewdropsnsnowflakes Hi DewDrops! Great to hear from you! I remember feeling quite crummy for the entire first year.(Probably not the answer you wanted to hear, huh?) As I started the second year, I began to have days like you describe It was a mix between feeling good, and feeling like crud. The good hours were quite good. I almost felt normal, and could function well. The bad, was, well, normal fibrosucky. As time went on,I had more of the good, and less of the bad.I take 600 mg. 2 x daily.
@dianacwolf Hi back. I am on 600mg 3x's day. Some days I wake up wishing I had died in my sleep. In a bit, it is like: 'Pop! What is your issue? Life is great!' I think I am having mini healthy breakthroughs! Just wish I knew when they were coming so I could plan a project! After 20 years on, I am OFF anti-dep. med. OFF and better OFF. Never worked anyway. Proud of myself! During a 'pop!' moment I an excited to think perhaps I do 'have a life'?!? How can I read your mag article you did on fibro?
@dewdropsnsnowflakes I scanned the magazine article in. It is on my blog. Don't think I can post the URL here. It was actually written by a journalist at the magazine. I'm working on a book about fibro, but don't plan on finishing it until I have an ending. My ending will be when I am symptom free. I know there is no cure, but I still want my happy ending. Have you tried dietary changes? Like HG diet, or gluten free? It helps some folks with pain levels.

I used to think those marks were normal to everyone. One reason I don't like to wear a watch on a daily basis is because it hurts a bit after a while. Do you also have cold feet and hands. It's 74 inside and 63 degrees outside and my hands are feet are cold and numb. I'd like to communicate with you for sharing and advice if you don't mind. You seem very knowledgable and observant about your condition.
Sure. You can communicate with me anytime. My email is listed at the end of all my videos. Yes, I get cold hands and feet. I have Raynaud's Syndrome. I was diagnosed with it when I was 14 years old. It was the first fibromyalgia related "co-condition," that I was diagnosed with. My fibromyalgia diagnosis wouldn't come for another 21 years. Sometimes, one of my hands is ice cold while the other is warm. I also get hand tremors. Sometimes even these wild, crazy, jerking hand spasms. Weird.
Exactly the same situation with me where one hand is cold and the other gets warm sometimes. It usually happens when I'm using my hands to type, or play guitar, but more often than not, they are both cold. I actually find that the feet and hands can warm up after an exciting situation, like a social laugh or an instant of frustration or anger. I also experience tremors and drop and knock off a lot of stuff. Thanks, you'll be getting emails from me.
i fluctuate and look different all the time, different symptoms was wonderin about the book i would really like some more informatio im in my early 20s and have been going through this and more for years thank you so much
I'm not sure if you have heard of Dr. Penniston and his book breaking the Guai Protocol down to a finer level of detail. I made a DVD documentary with interviews with him and some of his patients. I think this may be a new source of inspiration if you haven't heard of him yet.
