Asus VE278Q 27inch led monitor with black Ops.

I have two of the same monitor and it was nice until both got the screen flicker. This is a known issue but ASUS won't acknowledge it. So now I have to do a RMA which if you have to do one you'll find out it's a joke.

And don't think you won't get the flicker because you will. As I stated it's a known issue and ASUS really doesn't care. And I did confirm this with the tech about it being a known issue. Save your self the headache and don't buy this monitor.

The number you care about, which is what reflects real world contrast, is its native level. For example, professional grade LED backlit IPS displays (like the one that I'm using currently), a quantum leap above this monitor in image reproduction, has a contrast ratio of 1000:1.

Hey, I was wondering how the sound is when you play with the PS3? I recently bought the monitor and it works great with my computer and blu-rays on the ps3. But whenever I play a downloaded game, or a disk based game through the monitor, the sound goes all haywire. I was wondering if you ever expierenced that problem.

Monitor is nice, no ghosting, vivd colors, too vivid in some of the default setups imo, nice contrast.

Issue so far, I think it's too bright, even lowering brightness, contrast, gamma, etc, it still bothers eyesight a bit and I'm about 2 ft from it in a medium lit room and this was the only reason I brought it in replacement of a dell 2407 wfp. It appears all led (lcd backlight) monitors are a tad too bright which makes me consider trading it for an lcd.

@MentallFloss Ah I see I went for the Dell Ultrasharp U2711 monitor because it had really good screen and wasn't limited to 1080p but 1440. How did you find your U2407? At the moment I'm loving my 27" ultrasharp monitr for every aspect gaming, surfing the web, movies etc.. It's just terrific.

@Aaron2k46 @blingblingbling420 the reason he says 720p is because even though the monitor can display 1080p games consoles only transmit in a 720p resolution so the monitor will show console games in 720p (although some games are available in 1080i but thats a different matter altogether)

The contrast on the new LEDs are outstanding. On reviewer said that LED shows little improvement over standard LCD, but once you see both monitors side by side the difference is obvious. There is only a $25 difference between the two monitors

Do you get any ghosting with your monitor? I've read tons of reviews on the 24in version and a lot of people complain of ghosting. I'm thinking of upgrading to the VE278q is the reason I ask.

As for the monitor, it is awesome. However i find it annoying that it gives me so limited option in standard mode. Like, you can't make standard mode look like scenary mode or theater mode, you just can't. You can't even control the colors in Standard mode "but you can in others" it's kind of annoying.
