  • my savage wont work i have tried everything :(

  • Hi how can I get a filter like that

  • only 55mph pft I get 100mph out of my kyosho inferno ve and that without a silver dildo

  • @MRAlrounder yep and i get 200mph from my race buggy..., retard

  • Epic and how much would it cost I want to build a rc nitro car

  • IMAO: The higher the nitro content the cooler the engine will run therefore a cooler glow plug can be used. You can afford to loose some cooling fins if you want a lower tight fitting shell. Half a cooling head weighs next to nothing and will save next to no weight, the weight loss will be ineffectual. High nitro content can cause engine timing issues due to fuel igniting too early. The best solution to top end is gear ratio - followed by lighter wheels+Chassis+smaller higher revving engine.

  • "...I cut down the heatsink head to lower the overall weight of the truck..."

Reminds me of another incident... "we removed two of the drive motors to save on weight..."

BUT REALLY? Thats what you decided would be the best thing to cut down? Not custom A-arms, maybe modifieing the chassis?

  • my jato will leave that in the dust (70mph) LOL!

  • @coolmryan jatos are also homo

  • first what is the name of the little theme song in the begining song and where did you buy the body and where did you get the little nos thingy please reply asap and thank you very much this is the best video on youtube and i loved and liked it so i had to subscribe nice savage

  • first what is the name of the song and where did you buy the body and where did you get the little nos thingy please reply asap and thank you very much this is the best video on youtube and i loved and liked it so i had to subscribe nice savage

  • are you serious!!!!???? if you want major power get a lrp28spec3

  • I thought these guys were supposed to know about rc cars. the head should never be cut unless your drag racing, and a paper air filter like that is useless on a small engine. needs to be foam.

  • thumbs up 4 the hot woman @ the end of the video.

  • you guys are fucking faggots for playing with toys

  • @5959512 id rather play with them then go to videos of them playing with them and talking shit, trolllll

  • @jfo420 i put savage in the search window cause I was looking for vids of my motorcyle. I saw the green head and pipe and thought damn someonedid a crazy mod to their motorcyce.....but no just grown men playing with kids toys

  • @5959512 If you was thinking it was a motorcycle, then you need contacts. It look nothing like an motorcycle engine. Stop trolling. Working on them is just fun. Let us enjoy the hobby. Also you sound like a 12 year old by trolling... just saying.

  • If you look for "Savage", you're obviously not going to find a motorcycle that no one has heard about. Now motorcycles may cost a lot more than these, but try dropping $2,000 on just a single one of these cars. On top of that, try dropping over $10,000 per year just for this hobby. Something you wouldn't be able to handle. You need real money for this hobby. It can turn out to be more expensive than your fucking motorcycles. Welcome to our world, it ain't cheap.

  • This is like taking stuff for what companies SAY it will do and just throwing it into the truck, no innovation or thinking involved...

    sucks...

  • I want to bone that girl at the end..

  • are axail engines relaible ?

  • 55mph?? is that it? mine goes 55 straight out the box!!

  • Were can you get that air filter

  • i have lost all respect for kevin hetmanski

  • instead of taking a huge chink of heatsink off, you might as well do less damage to the truck and make it faster by taking of the muffler

  • why don't you put an RB innovations supercharger to make it the ultimate fag truck

  • wtf u cut down the cooling head to save weigth how about the nitrous system that probly adds a couple ounces and take the 3 speed out for less weigth and rotating mass and youd probly be going just as fast if not faster

  • and after all of that, its still just as fast as a jato 2.5. cool, though.

  • Put a modified Novarossi .21 on it and call it a day.

  • if u put an other cooling head i want it

  • I see tons of things you could have cut instead of the cooling head.

  • BUY A TRX T-Maxx or Revo!!! it has a 2 speed tranny, runs with the 3.3 smallblock, can do 50 mph out of the box and dosen't need the silver dildo... LOL

  • So, it's 5MPH faster than a stock one?

  • i wish i had that truck so i could either put it on a shelf and look at it or buy a new cooling head and actually run it!!

  • To get even more speed out of this truck I installed a large silver dildo.

  • @fryster123 hhahahahahahahahahaahhahaahahah this is so funny, you made my day hahah

  • that blue air filter is it even made for a RC car or would the stock one that came with mine be better??? ohh and looks good but id prefer my Savage in looks. =)

  • is it me or it is one of the shititest RC ever build , Cutted Heat Sink, Nitrous that burn the motor, K&N Filter wich suck ... wow

  • yeah they kinda forgot about this project; where is the test drive

  • As far as the cooling head is concerned... yeah it's dumb and a waste of time to cut it down but in reality...those axial .32 motors (I have one) run so cool it's not gonna be an issue. Yes, NOW it might overheat, but, then again it might not.

  • Mmmm i can do 50 with my stock Traxxas 3.3 T-maxx... nitrous systems, cut-down heatsinks (for a nitrous-charged engine, not a good idea) its not worth the money for 5+ miles per hour and a probably burned out engine in a couple of tanks

  • @RFTAEC100 were u get a nitrous system

  • @masonis1 I have no idea 0_o Google it

  • @soulessomg

clearly an owner of a picco .28. ur biast.

  • what air filter is that?

  • I absoulutely love my savage

  • 4.6. Savage is a badass little machine from standing start in a pull of the trigger you can flip one over from so much tourque although there a bitch to tune and start for first time

  • @gamecheater11 Yea the flipping killed my heatsink today :'(

  • i have a savage xl and i upgrad it gose 75mph

  • Yeah, in your car.

  • @qatar449 and i have savage which i bash in water -.-

  • @qatar449 oh yeah well my savage is upgraded so it does 200 mph and it can even fly!

  • @superavrillavignefan no it cant, it just cant

  • @nunchaku101 no shit...

  • @superavrillavignefan alright calm down....

lets all be nice here :)

  • @nunchaku101 haha, it's just that some people totally have NO sense of sarcasm whatsoever :P

  • @superavrillavignefan lol true

  • engines rarely overheat and rarely and rarely ever run at optimal settings, i removed almost the entire cooling head on my savage with a axial .32 and in august on a 90d day my engine was only running at 300, normaly it runs 80d cooler

  • you would have to run that very rich dont see the logic in cutting the head down.

  • Won't it overheat now?

  • Cutting the head down to lower the cg is getting a little ridonkulous. We're talking a gram loss here, if that. Bet it corners like a fiend now without all the burdensome weight! : )

  • Put a mamba monster combo and 6s lipo in that truck and it will go 70+mph!!!

  • the cooling head doesnt way that much why would you cut it off? your gonna run it to hot

  • @kizzle1234656 not really, if u cut. it its less to cool down. if u understand? :)

  • @PCRampagE The more surface area the cooling head has the more heat the engine can loose. It's simple physics ;)

  • no necisarily, the cooling head might be made of a diffirent matiarial, one that doesn't allow for efficiant heat diccapation

  • @1996zeeshan Yeah because HPI (one of the world's leading RC nitro car designers), are so intelligent to make it out of a material which doesn't allow for heat loss haha! It's on there for a reason, and it's made from Aluminium on most RC cars, including this savage. Al is a good heat conductor, and is relatively cheap, making it great for the cooling head.

  • @fryster123 If you were listening he said the motor was an axial not hpi

  • @Cutlerholic Okay Sorry. But still. I bet it's Al. And anyhow, axial are just as good.

  • This guy's an idiot.

  • @kizzle1234656 Well if it is a speed truck you will not run long kinda like drag racing

  • @redneckrc13 well unless your drag racing with it its a bad idea and who drag races with savages let alot monster trucks anyway, even with the nitrous system it isnt good ive seen engines blow up from them

  • is it over heating.

  • ok but it's too expensive

  • Yesterday i got my almost stock 3.3 T-Maxx up to 48.6 MPH. the only Mods it has done are i drilled out the stinger on the pipe and i put a high flow air filter on it running Traxxas Top Fuel 20%. Im not really impressed with the savage, it seems like it should do more than that with all those mods.

  • fix up your gears, hard suspension, proper tune and you should be hitting 60

  • Mind you, its at least 10lbs lighter than the savage haha.

  • Yeah with ALOT more Motor!!!

  • ya ur cars will beat that savage, but i bet if ur stampede or revo weighed as much as a savage does it wouldent go 55mph, also i bet that savage handles amazingly. and 55mph is not acurate. it probably goes faster. .28 motor+nos+3speed+extended gear+ trucksetup+ the tires/rims.....this thing would blow past 55....................

  • man my savage xss will hit 55 mph no problem all u need is the right gearing

  • Gearing is the key

  • my slayer beat that easly

  • not if u still have the 3.3 the slayer isant that fast and lets see that thing take a turn at 30...ROLL

  • My brushless stampede will eat that alive, 55mph is 2 years ago

  • the savage will destory the mgt end of argue ment

  • That i can agree with.

  • waste of money, why cut the cooling head?

  • at :43 "To lower the overall weight of the truck."

  • yeah, but savages suck to work on and they are not that durable, mgt all the way

  • MGt 8.0 or Savage Xl 5.9 ??? I've been in a rut thinking about which car i should get =( tell ,me why too

  • MGT 8.0 AlL THE WAY, it's more durable than the savage and has so much more power too the 8.0 vs. the 5.9, i will take the 8.0. Also, the mgt is compatible with RPM parts, the savage is not. the mgt is also cheaper if u know where to look, ebay, towerhobbies, rcplanet, and hobbystores.

  • have u tried both? the savage has 3 gears duh

  • so, who cares, the mgt 8.0 can hit 50 mph stock if tuned right.

  • yeah....and a professional rc car racer said the mgt 8.0 so u know thats what im gettin ! i'll make vids of it and i'll tell u about it

  • good choice on the mgt

  • whare did you get the air felter

  • yes the rc nitrous dosent work THAT Well it does work...and the k and n airfilter wtf its a rb innovations air filter because the stock savage air filter sucks and is restrictive....and you could see the blue cap the it would go to u fucking dumbass...and 55sec that says mop on it

  • STUPID BUILD

  • you guys are dumb assses its for show and a fun project!!

you dont no much rc do you!

  • dont they say that nitrous system is bad

  • yes it dosent work that well

  • tell us more abou your 65mph rustler ? for top speed on the standard gearing that engine sucks, a top .21 would increase its top speed by about 5mph max. its all about the maths bro..!!! 65 is a massive claim. race it next to a 10th scale car with a turbo .15 engine... they will do a genuine 65 and leave it for dust. the fastest engine is not the biggest and an engine like o.s .21vz vspec 2 will produce as much peak power and torque as a .30 + and due reving higher will increase top speed

  • ik...the 3.3 i use is modded and has been dynoed at over 30,000rpm...and its not standard gearing its running 25 64..and it has a .20 and 65 for a nitro rustler isant that fast there's ppl doing over 70...and i have raced a nitro 4-tec with a os 12tz p5 and i was faster in the 132ft drag

  • il show you the best running savage on youtube and weve only just ran it in. totaly standard savage 4.6 with a good tune. pops wheelies n stoppies for fun. no nos and no nonsense. just a good hot tune n small mods . the .28 in the boxed savage if well tuned will out perform most of the engines these guys put in them. like i said LETS SEE IT RUNNING because our savage is there for all to see. its filmed on a sony 3.2 megapixel phone but it gets my point across. the best tune always wins

  • yea my stock savage 25 could wheelie

  • this clip has annoyed me because i listened to rccaraction stuff but this is pure shit.. nos nitros are a well known bullshit as well as axial engines being not up to an overheating. trust americans to kick the arse out of anything. show us that going then?? n savages wheelie becoz most of the power is directed to the back when you fully open the throttle. it has a completely seperate gearbox that acts like a difflock when power overwhelms it. 4.6 is best. swap servos n handset out for digi ones

  • nos on nitros are bullshit bro. how can you claim it works when its well known that it dont work on 2 strokes or diesels becoz of the laws of physics. e.g non-controlled ignition. and chopping a heatsink down and still claiming that truck will still work more than 20 seconds?? every1 knows that even breaking a fin on the heatsink affects the temp on a decent engine tune by about 15-30 deg. . thats a showoffs truck and my little .18 o.s engined cen talon would rip it.. 50mph explain?????

  • it works but not by that much rb innovations and integy 2 wost brands...and shaving down the heatsink with how light it is wont effect it that much and 2 broken fin hasent effected any of my engines bu 15-30degrees...and i bet my little nitro rustler with a trx3.3 will do over 65

  • rb are good bro but have bad engines, n a broken heatsink does effect the temp, especially on a fast tune. i had to run my o.s. 12tz rich as fuk after snapping the top fin clean off, it would simply overheat after a few minutes, it was a hot running engine to start with (260 deg) on a good tune but after the decapitation it was running 290deg then flaming out after 1 straight. bigger engines will survive better but its da laws of physics bro.. high strung tunes will show up any weakneses

  • but why Disheels on a Savage ?? Dishweels are for Nerds and Freaks only Man!

  • no there not..there for people that want to save weight..and the savage is a heavy truck

  • a Savage is not a Truck for Weight-Savers. A Truggy or Buggy is for that purpose.... you won´t save much with Dish-Wheels, 10 - 30g per Wheel, thats not very much. But: definitively looks like Crap on a Savage/Revo etc....

  • yea but it cuts down on the rotational mass so every ounce counts....and its your oponion on what looks like crap and some trucks it looks nice..not that good on this truck though

  • ^ couldn't agree more, but on a revo with a lime green body, white wheels, and white wing is awesome

  • sorry Man, but Dishwheels, especially in white, won´t look good on any Model. Black Dishwheels on a Truggy maybe, but white .... *vomit*

  • shaving the head wont do shit lol

  • Also weight has nothing to do with top speed...Refering to an earlier post saying the savage is a porker. The only thing that maters is rpm's and torque of the engine at high rpm's. Considering you are pushing a brick through the air(because it is unaerodynamic not heavy)

  • Cutting the fins is for drag racing, not speed runs...

  • Y are people saying that nos dosent work ...

YES it does work but u may as well run a higher % nitro fuel, AND REMEMBER the nos is only for a short boost ....

  • 1.) Nitrous systems don't work in engines. You should no that nitrous oxide is a non-flammable gas.

2.) K&N filters don't do shit unless you count sucking in dirt and debris a good thing. Get that thing off of their and get a Motor Savers filter.

3.) Cutting your cooling head will make it your engine run hot.

The shocks are Hot Bodies Big Bores. BTW.

    Some recommendations:

Do the Mid-tank mod. It'll stop the mid-tank lean problem and have better COG.

I think you should everything I explained.

  • ^^^

I think you should remove everything I explained.

    Nice choice of pipe.

Did anybody notice the 9V battery isn't plugged into anything?

  • 1. Yes NoS is Non-falmmable BUT it has more Oxygen than normal ambient air. About 3 times more.

    2. Its a speed machine.... have u ever seen a formula 1 car in a dirt pit? No?

  • I shouldn't "no" anything. However, I "know" that NoS does work. You inject it into the engine, inject more fuel, and the oxygen in the NOS burns that extra fuel.

It won't work in these engines tho. All it will do is lean them out.

  • 4. Wrong truck. The savage is a porker, a fatass, and hardly all that aerodynamic. You should have chosen a CEN Magnum NX. I have it's older twin, the FunFactor, and with a pull-start OS .18 CV-RX and stock gearing/tires I can damn near hit double nickels. Stuff the axial engine in that and 70mph isn't out of the equation.

  • Wow...What a noob build.

    1. Only an idiot is going to cut the cylinder head down to 5 fins. It's going to overhead and cook the engine, and it isn't going to do anything meaningful to the monster truck's COG.

    2. Nitrous isn't going to do you a damn bit of good and you know it. You'll get bigger returns by porting the sleeve/block, and that air filter will flow a bit easier.

    3. That air filter isn't going to protect the engine all that well. :|

  • does cutting the head makes any difference on anything?

  • Makes the engine run very hot and makes the engine a bit shorter. Nothing else really.

  • what shocks is he using ?? i like to buy some. and hints ?

  • Wow he should know that those replica air filters don't work for shit.

  • lol, i have that air filter (a bigger version) on my revo, and the thing runs like crazy. and the best part is that it's easy to clean... (better than the sponge filters :P

  • Those K&N style air filters are garbage. Ya they look cool, but don't catch the really small dust.

  • i agree with you there, that's why I use team losi thick air filter oil on mine :) keeps the air going to the engine nice and clean :)

  • The Losi oil is just like any other air filter oil. I would really take that air filter out and use a Motor Saver air filter. Type Motor Saver Filter into google and go on there website. That filter has the biggest opening going into the carb and will give better performance because there is less resistance on the air going into the carb. The one on my Savage was awesome. I really didn't notice a gain in speed, but it held it's motor tune better.

  • I have seen that when the moter is tuned leaner, (sport/racing tuning) then the moter gets ridiculous speed and power. it runs like a 3.3 .

absolute insanity. lots of fun, and damn, that thing is hard to steer. I had to tune the suspension down to try to get some nice turns in without going on 2 wheels or flipping.

well... that's my results on my revo 2.5 :P

  • very nice hpi savage that engine is great how many cc that engine have?

  • it has 4.6cc awesome engine ( ihave it watch my vid)

  • cool i have a HPI Savage 25 and its 3.0cc and i also have a FG MonsterTruck which has a 26cc POWERFULL engine and runs with fuel + nitro

  • you wouldn't want to anyway. it just raises engine temps.

  • all nitrous does to these engines is to mess them up. it will make it run real lean. which isnt good

  • You guys are all dumb who say that "nitrous won't work" or "nitrous isn't necessary". These are NITRO CARS!!! There is no gasoline in the fuel mixture...it is only Methenol (alcohol), Castor Oil (lubrication) and 15% to 35% Nitrous depending on your mix preference (most run 20%).

It is NOT a "nitrous system" that some sissy's put on their car to make more power. There is no "boost" button. It is just the fuel that these 2 stroke engines run.

  • uhh..... they aren't dumb dude these engines run on nitro, short for nitromethane, not nitrous. They are two completly different things.

  • the njust richen it

  • how do you cut the head

  • cut down the head to lower the overall weight?its really not going to take off much weight but add MORE to your overheating problem of that axial.

  • BUT if he's going to be gunning it at 50+, he's not going to need much bigger of a heat sink to cope with the heat. More air flowing through the heat sink means he doesn't need as large a head sink.

  • gtfo /b/tard

  • No u

  • jonizmyname = newfag

  • That nitro system is not going to work, and that K&N filter is going to kill your engine. N2O is non-flammable. K&N filters are made for real cars, and they can't protect your engine from small dirt and debris. It's a good thing it's only an Axial engine.

  • that's a small-ass head on the engine.

  • Lol installing the rbinnovations nitrous is a complete waste of time and money they just sit there and do nothing at all, the engines are on a too small scale to have things like that make a big difference you should have spent the money on a better mod than that. Buy a dremel rotary tool and give the engine a good port and polish best mod you can do in my opiniun, unleashes your engines maximum performance.

  • what does the scale of the engine have to do with nitrous working or not, do you know how nitrous works ?

  • Yes i do know how nitrous works but what im saying is it will make only the tiniest difference on an engine that small they already have low efficiency puttin that through it will just give you more problems.

  • you obviously have no experience with the nitrous express RC kits that have been out for the last couple of years.

  • Look a rc car isn't exactly the hardest thing to understand, you just have a poor knowledge of engines and how they work obviously.

  • the scale plays a part, but the BIGGEST issue is the fact that its a 2 stroke motor. N2O works for gasoline engines, but not on ported and premixed 2 strokes. well, it does but VERY Very little. infact, the weight you gain from installing the kit makes up for the performance you get from it. there has already been plenty of research on this, just take the time to look it up if you dont know how N20 kits work on 2 strokes.

think about it, why has there never been a N2O kit on a dirtbike before

  • Those tires are too heavy for a speed project. HPI Phaltline tires would be a better choice because they are A LOT lighter and will allow the engine to hit higher peak RPM's. I have tried both and the Phaltline's outperform the Road rage's as far as top speed is concerned.

  • if you are looking for speed the heavier the better. Ok say you have a 100 lb guy on a bicycle and a 200 lb guy on a bicycle. Both same bike, tire pressure, same length run way, same grade hill. Who is going to go faster? The lighter guy will accelerate faster but the bigger guy will go faster.

  • That's a completely different scenario than if the tires were different weights. Heavier wheels/tires means more rotating mass. Excessive rotating mass will limit how fast the wheel can spin. It's simple physics. A physics expert could explain WHY better, but I know I'm right on this one.

  • toughs tires have a lower profile side wall, so their better for acceleration

  • That is one sweet looking car well on the inside that is,5*

  • nice
