  • Respond to this video... drummer u rock nice job i subed

  • @unded35 u suck

  • cool bro!

  • wow! 5* I bet he will cut the snares of that thing!

  • wow!!

  • wahhhhhhhhh amazing :) i like to play snare ^^ 5*

  • ironic how the name of the solo is krystal klear! and its dirty as hell

  • Not sure it's possible to just learn how to play like this. You need natural born talent.

  • i dont get it.. i can hear the beat. its just not clear.

  • it's fast but no beat..

    Thumbs up anyway =]

  • it's fast but no beat..

  • @unded35 suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you can

  • what a pretty pinky!!

  • i can do all that, but i just hate when my wristwatch flies off into the hands of some adoring female in the audience =D

    lol =D

  • You got chops man...thats for sure!!! But...your laser rolls seem very uneven. i dont konw if its because of the camera...but i think its more because you seem very tense in your wrists. Your relying on the minor muscles of you fingers a lot...they can only take so much work. try to even out the consistency between your finger control and wrist control

  • @fuzzButtle You're replying to a 4 year old video man, I'm sure I could've used the advice at the time. But the technique served me well enough at blue knights these past two summers so I think i'm good for now.

  • @scizatt Oh nice!! Thats pretty sweet man!! Well now i feel like an idiot haha!! Well im sure its more than adequate now lol jk jk. Well keep it up man!

  • Not bad but the technique needs serious work

  • dauum...at some points his playing is too fast for the camera to catch

  • Maybe y'all should both stop bitching about some dudes snare solo. Who gives a shit which one of you has more talent... no one.

  • haha great stuff man keep it up!

  • youre definitely really good i dunno if youre playing it that fast for the show but i couldnt get any rhythem out of that at all lol

  • you couldn't get any rythm? there was abunch of easily noticed rythm.

  • you dont have to get your panties ina bunch, i just didnt feel any beat out of the song... he has some serious talent i just thought he played it too fast

  • that wasn't too fast, but i geuss you have no musical tallent at all though

  • lol okay cause you know me soooo well douchebag you obviously have some issues to come on youtube and start chirping people, i probably have more musical talent than you

    p.s. it is spelled "talent"

  • ughhh, chirping people? that was a little weird, those are buzz rolls there is no too fast for buzz rolls, if you did have musical talent you should know simple things like this before posting things that you don't know. oh no! i made a typo! that's so terrible! Yeah your cool, your real cool

  • i know what a buzz roll is you moron and yeah chirping, ragging on, talking shit its the same thing... anyways a lot of people agree that it should be slown down a bit to feel more of a beat, anyways youre probably some highschool marching band failure who has nothing else to do but try and piss people off so... nice try?

  • wow for one how do you not notice all the dynamic chanes and asents they're obvious. And your judging people like you said i was, chirping isn't a normal word for what you're trying to say eihter :P You can talk much about what i said you're pretty much being a hypocryte

  • ok...

  • that`s cold dude..

  • a solo is a solo,who cares how u play it

    word from my director

but i do see wat u mean about its played way to fast,, slow it down bro

  • the vertical strokes on ur right hand go inwards a little...and u have a flying pinky my friend...and i do not like this piece at all..its all jumbled together, you can barely distinguish rhythm patterns....but yeah

  • I prefer Markovich and Danny Raymond.....They at least play in complete phrases. I think that solo was an intended joke.

  • This seems to fuel the misconception that "fast is automatically good". I'm not saying this is bad playing or a bad piece. It's probably just played too fast for me to hear the significant rhythm behind it. But at this speed, it just sounds like random hacking...

  • i agree DrummerCoCa, this piece of drumming lakcs any type of feel. it's just like "LOOK HOW FAST I CAN ROLL!!"

also, his snidey, cocky, 'how good am i, and dont i know it' face annoys the hell out of me.

  • ouch lol. you're supposed to act like that when you're playing in front of 900+ people to sell the piece.. and to keep your confidence up no matter how nervous you really are. I'm the most humble dude ever!

  • @DrummerCoCa i think this sucks you cant even hear the the beat it sounds like a machinegun from ww2

  • scrub

  • hey...this solo looks like jeff queen's snare drum solo when he was a kid!!!!!

  • MEOW!

  • Moo!

  • WOOF!

  • his arms must be burning by the end of that

  • ooook i'm tired of people hacking on the sound of the snare. For the last time, it was the acoustics of the auditorium that created that wet sound. there were no curtains in the place to absorb the vibration. It had nothing to do with the way the snare was tuned. Sorry, I had to say something

  • I personally know the guy who wrote this solo.

  • that snare drum sound is sucks , best snare drum ever heard in st.anger

  • sorry What ???

    as in metallica st. anger????

    noooo

the snare is horible sounds like a bucket to much ring on it !

  • yeah,but it's cool

  • ok first of all, those are 2 totally different types of snares, this is a marching snare and metallica has a regular drum set snare. For a marching snare, this one sounds amazing.

P.S. The snare in st anger does sound like shit

  • HAHAHA.. snare drum on ST. ANGER sounded like someone was banging on a metal chair. One of the worst snare drum sound ever.

  • the snare does not hve to much ring on it at all

  • ye it does how do u not hear it ?

it sonds like hes turned te thing off and put his mics inall th wrong places !

it sounds like a bell in a cave !

  • cause its not a normal snare head

  • wow ive actually never heard a wet snare, it sounds amazing

  • to me, the snare sounds good wet, I'm soooo used to hearing them the exact opposite but this is refreshing

  • i bout lost my breath when i saw this

  • your drum sounds like my snare practice pad

  • but it doesn't feel anything like it

  • DAMN that snare is tuned wet holy shit

  • is that good or bad?

    no im not a drummer

  • A marching snare drum usually sound crispy

  • it's difficult :O

  • goddamn i was tryin 2 go 2 another vid but i was kinda hypnotized....lol

  • hey scott you mother fucker its stephen... did you see that comment where they said you look like david blane?

i bet you are 5709387509 times better now. fucking tear that shit up whoody!

  • Looking forward to seeing your solo at I&E bud... By the ways scott, I will never forget what was going on in your head 1:35 in and what came out 1:45 in... haha, i think adam and I were crying out of laughter. Got to love that natural talent.

  • Good.

  • alittle too much rolling there and hes moving his hands pretty fast which aboviosly can made a very quick sound

  • yeah... not really a beat, little (little) too many rolls, but GREAT speed!

  • You copied that blast solo

  • this is a written solo out of a book. even the visuals were explained before hand..

  • sepultura fuckig rulz

  • lol it didnt really have a beat to it just sounded like random beating on a drum but ill admit that speed was sweet

  • a solo doesn't actually have a beat because its not part of a song ;)

  • well we will all wait for that and I will make sure to mark it on my calendar!

  • not bad but u play high and i like the drum. thats what my drumline uses!

  • ha your cool

  • that solo is sick

  • class, but fuck me does he love himself!

  • dude looks like his left hand isent even tryin thats sick man nice

  • i'm a lefty ;)

  • SUUUUUUUURE. seriously doubt it.

  • that snare sounds amazing

  • this dood came to my school a while back hes crazy.

  • Hey... Krystal Klear is in the Rowloff book "Just Desserts". I'd love to see a video of you playing that...

  • this was fucking unreal seriously

  • damn...hes sooo hott!!

  • Is it me or does he look like David Blane? The magician?

Lol, look at the zoom at 1:33

  • haha kinda does...and fuck this drumming is unreal

  • i think its the haircut that gives him that appearance...

  • ohh shit!

  • ur really good and where did u get the case for the snare

  • How do people do that crap I cant even figure out how to hold the stick traditonal

  • holy crap...THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME...and unreal! teehehe

  • this a talent show?

  • thta waz gud u fuck it up a lil but u still killed it

  • that's not human rofl

  • O.O

  • damn!

  • i like the sound

  • wow its pretty good

  • I really wish i could read this solo better (sound quality of auditorium)

  • are you retarded he doesnt need to tighten....its his fast strokes that are confusing u

  • are u retarded dnt fuking tlk to me i know that this comment is 1 month old dum azz

  • I would just love to see better from you.

  • That hall is not doing you any credit to clean-ness.

  • thank you for actually noticing that it's the auditorium and not the drum. I hate it when people think it's the drum.

  • I'm gonna have to agree with this one.

  • this is really good. i dont really like the way the drum is tuned though.......

  • sucekd any one can play buch of buzzes and tripolet rolls and put them togeth with rudaments...

  • you dont know anything about drumming

  • Wow, you are the biggest retard ever for saying that!!!!!!!!!!

  • just so you know that was a written out snare solo played by mickey burmer at I&E a few years ago. The quality isnt too great on this video so some of the rolls came out as well as it could have. and no, not everyone can play back stick flam drag inverts and book reports along with the combination of cheeses and da chuttas towards the end.

  • dude...that snare sounds gross....you might as well have used a concert snare

  • to think wat he could do on a set

  • he could be really bad at the set.. my friend is the shit at the snare, marched a couple years of dci, but cant play set to save his life

  • another couple of hours per day playing rudiments rather than showboating would improve your drumming a lot just a thought

  • the ones they use at my school double as a marching and consert and they are damn near 500...thats why i said that. probably not ALL of them are, but the particular brand they buy here are.

  • i have never seen or heard of a head that doubles as a concert head...that would actually be stupid...and paying 500 for a drum head...u would almost b better off gettin a new snare...there are no heads that cost that much. period end of story.

  • Wow, you losers are in an argument about drum heads.

  • lmao

  • for the high school marching drum heads, they are not. the ones that are 40-50 are the cheap ass ones....look them up online...they are special made...and you would know??

  • hmm.. the head on that drum is a black remo. they'd go for about 50 bucks. I've never heard of a marching snare head costing 500 dollars. a concert head maybe..

  • well, as a snare drummer, most of the sound is in the head of the drum. costs 100-500$ each.

  • ok your an idiot! marching snare heads are about 40 or 50 bucks! not 100-500 dumbass!!

  • goed

  • damn, i definitely see DCI in his future lol

  • @kirbman69 not with that technique!!

  • god almighty!!!!!!!!!!!

    that was too insane!!!!

  • Good drumming But I hope he doesnt call himself krystal klear... Seriously. If so he needs to be punched in the face.

  • the name of the solo is called krystal klear... it's pretty obvious the recording isnt that clear.

  • well if the drum had a different/tighter tuning, then it would probably be clearer, however this is not the case. :P

  • fucking wow.

  • pretty good, but quality made it a lil off to me.

  • I wish the sound quality wasn't so horrible so I could hear you rippin' better.

But I can defiantly see the skills.

  • thats what she said

  • Shit, that guys got some fuckin chops.

Listen to how well he plays through the head.

    The sound is sex.

  • 3:30 is my favorite part. that is sweet. also after 4:00, it doesnt even look like he is hitting the drum any more

  • at the fermata at 1:29 you forgot the straight rights for one measeure. (I have the book where the music is in.) IT WAS THE COOL PART!!! T_T

  • i took out and added a number of things in this solo

  • oh yeah, cause lookin at the drum makes your hands play SO MUCH better...lmao

  • eh...

  • That is not true at all.

Once you reach this level of performance, looking at the drum doesn't make a difference anyways--it's on a stand, too.

Believe me, it's good because he's amazing not because of where his eyes.

    Finally a decent rudimental solo

  • hard to find a good snare drummer these days huh. everybody's hyped up about the drumset and never bothers mastering the snare first

  • Rudimental/corps drumming is a whole different world compared to set....

  • Ya, timbre would be the correct word. Really great solo anyways =)

  • he's movin too fast for the camera lol. INSANE solo though...rock on

  • Choking that far up on your traditional hand is broadening the already inherent tambour difference between matched right and traditional left. Your solo would probably be served greatly just by holding back a bit farther on your traditional hand. Great solo nonetheless.

  • playing snare trad is not impossible to sound even. but yea, that year i was up a little bit. and i believe you were thinking of the word, timbre (pronounced tamber)..

  • damn your sticks looked like those chines fans at 3:42

  • Nice

  • yo that part at 3:25 was awesome. very creative and it gave a nice visual!

  • what kind of snare is this?

  • pearl with a black remo head

  • its because when you play faster you have really less control with the stick i have that same trouble when i march but im only a freshman soo give me some leeway lol

  • cool but he lets his pinky finger off the right stick too much

  • yea it happens more towards the end when im on the rim. there isn't much rebound to work with on there, and my hands didnt have the best stamina then

  • Mastered!

    Check out my rap vid

let me know what you think.

    Asch

  • Wow man very nice. How long have you been playing? Have you or do you plan to march DCI?

  • i've tried out a few times but things have gotten in the way. this past season i tried out for crossmen and mad first alternate. then around may i got a call back from them asking to come audition for a spot they lost, but i had broken my ankle during spring break :/ i also got a call from joe hobbs at southwind saying they needed to fill a snare spot. yea, i got kinda unlucky this year :/

  • Hey man, have you marched blue knights?

  • Nah, man. When I made the account I had my eye on them. I've since moved to the Regiment , haha. I wanted to change the name but my friends know me as this.

  • cool. I only ask because i marched there this past summer

  • yeah man, my bad. im not trying to "pose" or whatever you want to call it haha. sorry about the misunderstanding ha

  • ha no it's cool. what years did you march phantom?

  • Haha so far ive only marched couchmen. But I actually came pretty close to makin phantoms line at this past 09 audition.

  • good but no travis barker

  • I know this guy is so much better

  • travis barker isnt half as good as this guy, man.

travis is good at punkrock, but he couldnt play something like that. not that fast and precise.

  • maybe not travis but joey jordision can

  • very very nice you have skillz

  • heeeyy its ben's little sister! that was awesome, even better live. say hi to scott for me.

  • say hi to holly for me, too.

  • yo ur right hand pinky sticks out

  • yea i know, especially at the hugga-diks on the rim, i was really tired at that point. long solo for a highschool concert.

  • Yea not diggin the snare sound. Good chops bro but I think you need to work on your technique of the left hand especially. Check out my vids.

  • very nice...tighten up the snares so we can hear you a little clearer, again very nice

  • Pretty nice man but it drags on! It would've been nice to add some swiss three's n stuff! It was ok though.

  • there are swisses at :38 there for ya. Sorry it didnt have much variety, my hands could only go so far in high school
