Bucharest has nice buidings, old and new in a perfect harmony. Very tall buildings are not traditional in Europe nore in Bucharest. The reason is the ground is not so hard like it is in the US and can not support tall and heavy buildings. have you ever been to budapest? it was ruined many times in history but it's still one of the most fascinating captials, bukarest cannot and will never be compared to it. if i wanted to resort nice cities in romania, i'd only visit Erdely, where romanians were minority in all significant towns and cities. the monuments that tourists are interested in, usually either have hungarian or german origin. neverhteless, i'd definately like to check out the duna delta and csangofold sometime as well.
in only few unsignificant towns from only two small counties the hungarian populations is majoritar. an yes the austro-hungarians and especially the germans did wonderful buildings in transylvania but transylvania still belongs to romanians. if you'd check its demography and its history before the second milenium before christ yo'd agree

Romanians (at least the majority of them) are nationalists, they prefer to use their own language even if they know other languages. When I go to Romania, I try to speak in 4 languages, they answer in Romanian and expect from me to understand it. This is not a European mentality ... NOT YET!

just got back from bucharest a few days ago and i LOVED IT! they say "romania is poor country" but they have the most ordered luxury cars(ferrari, lamborghini bentley) in all of europe. the kids there have 500euro cell phones, there are beautiful buildings and shops with expensive furniture tiles granite everything ! beautiful people in that country as well! I know you posted this comment like a month ago, but... yes, Romanian is very similar to other latin-based languages. I am a Spanish speaker (I'm from Argentina) and I can tell you, Romanian is very similar to Spanish. Some words are almost identical.

Bucharest has nice buidings, old and new in a perfect harmony. Very tall buildings are not traditional in Europe nore in Bucharest. The reason is the ground is not so hard like it is in the US and can not support tall and heavy buildings. But in Bucharest besides old hystorical buildings you'll find new modern building who has even 30 levels

They may be "bad" (in whatever way), but you'll agree with me that they have never banded together to rob, rape & invade. Something about the psyche of the Roma Folk, also present in their ancestor cousins, the North-West Indians, prevents them from being violent. Other nations have grown wealthy by invading defenceless people---the Roma Folk have never done that, even when their numbers were large enough to make that viable.
Google "The Pariah Syndrome" for good information on Roma origins.

have you ever been to budapest? it was ruined many times in history but it's still one of the most fascinating captials, bukarest cannot and will never be compared to it. if i wanted to resort nice cities in romania, i'd only visit Erdely, where romanians were minority in all significant towns and cities. the monuments that tourists are interested in, usually either have hungarian or german origin. neverhteless, i'd definately like to check out the duna delta and csangofold sometime as well.

Actually, my friend, I've been to 8 U.S. states. Some were quite nice, but I've met more ignorant people in the U.S. than in any of the 18 countries I've been to. I also found that the U.S. generally lacks character and charm in comparison to most countries. Romanians (at least the majority of them) are nationalists, they prefer to use their own language even if they know other languages. When I go to Romania, I try to speak in 4 languages, they answer in Romanian and expect from me to understand it. This is not a European mentality ... NOT YET!

The word "dacoroms" comes from the mix between the first people who lived here, in Dacia, as it was called and the Romans who conqered it in 102 A.D. and from there comes the term "Dacoroman". Gipsies came to romania somewhere around 1700 A.D. Read some more history before you decide to say anything about a nation, asswhipe.

just got back from bucharest a few days ago and i LOVED IT! they say "romania is poor country" but they have the most ordered luxury cars(ferrari, lamborghini bentley) in all of europe. the kids there have 500euro cell phones, there are beautiful buildings and shops with expensive furniture tiles granite everything ! beautiful people in that country as well! Long Live Romania. I will be back soon my friends :) greetings from Canada

If you measure the culture and wealth by Lanborghinis I do not doubt, that Bucharest is wealthy. The parliament, the most corrupt organ resides there. I am sure you did not visit Buc.'s poorest quarters where stray-dogs scare the people, and the insalubrity is menacing health.
