  • I listen to this on my drive into Initech.

  • Lou Bega kind of looks like Perez Prado which is interesting cause they both did "Mambo no.5"

  • @liveindablink Lou Bega "Borrowed" Perez Prado's recording, only thing that Bega did was add some new beats and sang. The rest is Prado's recording.

  • @liveindablink A "remix" If you will.

  • Skinny Pete.

  • "why stick me in a dress and call me Sally , what do we have hear"?

  • @MrXBaileyx Hear? HEAR!? AAAAARGGHGHGHGH!

  • @mongo13times apologies friend......*here*, my bad

  • Love it! I think I prefer the 1950 recording though.

  • Golden Wonder, they're Jungle Fresh Golden Wonder, they're Jungle Fresh...................................Peeeeeeeeeeeeanuuuuuuuuuts!!

  • 9 people like Justin Bieber

  • 9 people don't like peanuts....and I feel sorry for them....

  • nothing beats selling crystal meth to this song

  • @joshman783 Breaking Bad references I love it!

  • Please God, could you revive Prado for just one more lifetime?

  • Canzone e musica intramontabile.

  • Cool song....his best....

  • Best verison of the song

  • This is OK, but KENTON got it right!

  • @teltuker1104 The Kenton verison stinks! He plays it WAY WAY TO FAST! You are crazy or have bad taste.

  • @musicfan088

I like this tune fast or slow. It's one of those tunes that sounds swell any way you play it, like "Caravan". I like the version done by the California Ramblers back around 1930. It's tempo is about the same as this—maybe even a little slower—and since it was recorded closer to the time of its origin I'd guess that that was the tempo that the composer intended. But I like the Stan Kenton version too. They both sound good.

  • exactamundo

  • OK - This is DYNAMITE - not even my favoirte song by far - but the musicianship - engineering on this is amazing! I have to say - this is why music used to be such a big part of our lives - actual awesome musicians playing great music. Thank you for posting this - I'd never heard his version of this song.

  • Joe: Man, what the fuck you doing?!

    Vito: Eeeey, relax, will ya?

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 - I've found videos of Anacani singing other songs, and she truly is a wonder, but I couldn't find one of her with the Peanut Vendor/El Manisero anywhere, unfortunately. Got a link for me?

  • JUST AN AWESOME TRACK!! Epic

  • I'll take my travelers checks to a competing resort.

  • office space for the win.

  • To be played at my wake.

  • Did they clone Mr. Prado into Herb Alpert??? WOW! What a talent! What a fun, fun, fun tune to rock out to! Loved it! Thanks!!!!!

  • King of Mambo..? No, fucking God of Mambo.

  • TANK MEN!!! :)

  • @MrXBaileyx ahaha Yes!!!!

  • suck my balls

  • Recomend the version of this song by "Antonio Machin"

  • Comment removed

  • Senor? Senor? I specifically asked for no salt,..I could put strychnine in the guacamole...

  • Comes from two of my favorite things:

    "Office Space" and "Tankmen".

  • "Oh right, the completely romantic first half without the action packed ending is fine, because obviously you think I'm a big sissy, and a poor leader. You know, sometimes, you just make me wanna cry."

"But that's the half with all the action! What's the point if we don't get any character development?"

  • @speedyneutrino43, I tried looking for it and I cant find it. Now youve got me interested.

  • "Excuse me, excuse me... Senor may I speak to you please. I asked for a Mai Thai and they brought me a Pina Co-la-ta, and I said 'no salt, NO salt' for the Margarita but it had salt on it..."

  • @TheLifeAquatic3 piña colada

  • Mafia II !!!

  • so very true , it should be romanced , carressed as the notes unfold......

  • poco-fortissimo bello

  • Excellent musical performance

  • POR SUPUESTO QUE ES EL REY

  • @ SpeedyNautrino43 Unfortunately the version by Anacani has been suppressed by YouTube, wonder why...this one is the next best I surmise

  • @towaritch ...Yes, much to my dismay some genius at YouTube has deleted the tune by Anacani....It was a wonderful performance by a beautiful young lady.

  • We played this for our marching band show this year at Troy.

  • found this amazing song from playing Mafia 2, wow! If you don't at least tap your feet or sway a little bit to this song, you're dead, I don't care what type of music you like, this is awesome!

  • mafia 2!!! great soundtrack amazing game

  • Fantástico Perez Prado!

  • MAFIA II

  • I approve.

  • This song reminds me of Dexter.

  • Ah yeah, I love this tune. It's cool to hear it sung by Prado. Nice screaming trumpets!

  • wow other than the trumpet playing this sounds strikingly like yoruba music from west africa

  • This song is nice..BUT! ..The best is El Manisero by Antonio Machin..You really capture the flavor of Latin America..brings many memories

  • perez prado and his orchestra were sensational, and this is one of my all time favorites. gracias, chequelito

  • check gregory isaacs top 10!

  • great

  • From which cd did this come? I am trying to buy it and although I have found several other versions recorded by Perez Prado, I unfortunately could not find this version which I like far better than those others. Thank you! Chris

  • Best use of this song had to be in the final closing minutes of "Office Space" love that movie

  • this tune keeps my hips shakin. love it.

  • wonderful

  • Found it lol. Loved this from Office Space XD

  • Woh genial

  • beautiful.

    Thank you for sharing Kostas.

  • best version ever!

  • @kostgian

    Il re del mambo!!!!!

  • Trouble is: This rendition is *not* on the album shown (El Rey Del Mambo). Anyone know which album *this* version is on?

  • wow! this song really gets you into a dancing mood. it just shows how great the music was back in the days.

  • haha this is from office space

  • Another classic from the master Perez Prado

  • Oh man, I love doin' a little dance to this.

  • At last - a decent tempo. So many bands play this as if on a racetrack - it should not be played prestississisimo!!! Let the music speak, which this super performance does...

  • @marsvltor2 I know the same goes for all of his songs. A nice medium tempo or moderately fast tempo fits his music well.

  • @marsvltor2 Try realizing that the song is about a peanut vendor, on a street corner in a busy city. Busy = Fast paced, unless you think the city that the song is in is for some odd reason slow and relaxed, or you just have some other kind of definition that won't fit it. If you want to hear it SLOWED down, then here is your video. If you want to hear it at the correct speed, listen everywhere else. It SHOULD be played prestoississississississimo.

  • One more thing about this tune...If you want to lose your heart and fall in love instantly find The Peanut Vendor by Anacani with the Lawrence Welk Show. Anacani Maria Consuelo y Castillo Lopez Cantor Montoya. I'm not kidding.

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 Yes, I know her full name, and heard her rendition. OUTSTANDING.

Who needs the lousy music we hear today?

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 Unfortunately the wonderful interpretation by Anacani has been removed by YouTube, I wonder why?

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 I am well aware of Anacani's full name. (Her married name is Echevarria, lest you are interested).

Speaking of Lawrence Welk singers, you should note the passing of the wonderful Norma Beatrice Larsen Zimmer (1923-2011).

  • Absolutely SUPERB

  • Thanks a lot for this great tune! Now I have discovered the origin of bass+horns arrangement of "Pin Floi" performed by "Pitura Freska" :-DD

  • Seem to remember a Superb Skit on Juke Box Jury by Benny Hill featuring this - go on find it...

  • I love BOTH! Mr. Prado's and Mr. Cougat's,both EXCELLENT! This is such a fun song. Both gentlemen make me want to rhumba and mambo all over the place :-D Thanks for this video, add on fave!

  • tankmen FTW

  • If you like this do yourself a favor and listen to Xavier Cugats version.

  • I did....but I always return to this one.

  • very good!!

  • thaaaaanks

  • officce space is awesome

  • word lol

  • What a amazing music "el cacahuatero" the peanut salesman will come to you and offer you a little bag of peannuts ,

  • I'm sure there are words!

    You know???

"If you never have bananas don't be blue"

"Peanuts in a little bag are calling you"

  • This is the English version by Dean Martin.

  • When was this recorded? I love it.

  • Check out Prez's rendition of Skokiaan, it's on the soundtrack for that Benjamin Button movie... you'll love it

  • Thank you, I'll search for the video that you suggested :-)

    Greetings,

    L.

  • I like it because it was in the flash animation "Tankmen" and i find it catchy.

  • LolYeah. I likes. Best Mambo ever.

  • It's also used on the soundtrack for Office Space, which is where I first heard it.

  • I've always loved Perez Prado! Didn't he write Lou Bega's big hit "Mambo Number 5"? This is why I also love Bega's mambo-style songs (especially "1+1=2"). It was great to ses this kind of music popularaized again in the last decade!

  • That´s great, but listen to the Stan Kenton version!

  • I wish I could have been front and center at this performance.

  • am using this as my ring tone! me luv this!

  • i... ill write a letter!

  • "El Manicero"...Love it.

  • This always reminds me of the ending of "Office Space" with Milton on the beach complaining about the salt on his Margarita, lol!

  • lol you too search this song because of tankmen xD?

  • Pretty much, Also Tankmen is a funny flash cartoon made by (I forgot there name) about a war in the year 20xx

  • That'd be Johnny Utah.

  • What's Tankmen?

  • o yeah que buen mambo xD

  • Music for dance!!

  • sounds good! =]
