@ THEkendarkness - I used to work for Nigel Nisbet's father-in-law and followed these guys for a long time. They were together and playing music like this before Oasis made a name for themselves even in the UK. I heard this demo a few months before the US release of "What's the Story Morning Glory?" Oasis' influence was minimal if any.

I like this song too but it wasn't ahead of its time. Very much of its time. Influenced by Oasis (don't tell me it's not). At least their name was better than before - I seem to remember they were called The Ultimate Cool or something.

@THEkendarkness I would agree we (Electrasy) were pretty much of our time rather than before it, though to be fair, I wrote Morning Afterglow in 1994 (And we recorded it - this version, which was the demo in a garage in Yeovil in 1995). So while Oasis were around, + pretty big, they weren't the dominant influence you might expect. Morning Afterglow was also not a typical Electrasy song, and much of the other stuff we recorded was far more forward looking (especially our second US album).

I suppose it makes sense that Electrasy were influenced by the same kinds of music as other groups of the time and that what you were doing was part of the "evolution". I did see you play around 97, 98, so I know it wasn't a typical song for you. However, it is a good song and I bought the single back in the day. I think it was the uploader's comments that made me reply about being of your time.

I worked for this lot in their rehearsals, they worked very very hard and had a load of otr special club sarnies. none of us could ever understand where they went wrong. my boss reckoned it was an age thing they were in their early 30's then and seemed so old and experienced to me. but if you have not had a huge hit by 30 thats it. now I look every inch my 37yrs and Ali here looks like some whippersnapper i'd just ignore now ha ha. Besides, why buy from itunes? Their DRM ensures that the music you buy is never really yours, as you cant make copies of it or anything. I'd much rather buy a CD and really own the music I pay good money for.

LOVE this song! I have always loved Electrasy every since the movie Titan AE introduced me to them via their song Cosmic Castaway. However, I am not really feeling this vid...except for a few interesting moments, this vid drags and is overall boring. It also doesn't have all that much to do with the lyrics and that has always been my pet peeve as far as music vids go. Oh wells, the song is still beautiful and the lead singer is a total cutie, so it was still kinda fun to watch :)

I also saw this band in the mid to late ninties doing the pub circuit in England. I got autographs and everything. Was convinced they were gonna be massive. Still sounds awesome and the video is so much better than Coldplays effort. When the coldplay vid came out and everyone was getting all excited about how clever it was, I rmember thinking,"yeah, but Electrasy did it years ago already"
