Unfortunately, you all are to ignorant to understand that the show used in this video, "The Colbert Report", is a satirical show aimed at poking fun at conservative, pro-American journalism. It is not intended to be taken seriously. Thus, the author of this video, and the three people on this message board are pitiful. I hope the big words I used don't go over your head as this video did.
well that is part of the aesthetics of the video. The fact that it uses the voice of Colbert and then portray it in a way that creates a persona other than a satire comedian, is an allegory for the propagation and censorship in media.
The video uses the words of a comedian, who is intentionally saying conservative talking points to make fun of conservative talking points. A comedian on the Comedy Central channel is not representative of the media. It would be like me making a video of Brittany Spears and Paris Hilton and saying this shows what all American women are like.
Wow, you really got deep in that reply. You know what? You changed my mind. Taking comments made by a comedian on a comedy show really does show the propaganda and censorship in mainstream American journalism. Thanks for enlightening me.
well dude you need to read some books to understand my point. Comedy central or any channel aired in US is part of what Negri Calls "Empire" or what Chomsky calls "Manufacturing Consent", whether you like it or not.
Since you didn't understood my previous comment I am gonna put it in another words: I agree that colbert is an Good guy. But by editing his own words and putting it in a new context I totally changed his Image and character. I wanted to show how easily that is possible, and how frequently its done by corporations like FOX. Colbert is just an example, I could use any other good hearted person and transform him/her into an evil.
takes a little while to get what you are doing here... i had to return to this vid and since it lived in my thoughts for a while... works better as a memory.... well done...
