According to this recent blog, the tune comes from an old Japanese song.
森進一 sang this hit song called 見知らぬ女 in 1973 . The song is composed by 猪俣公章 (Kosho Inomata), the lyrics are written by 阿久悠 (Yu Aku), and arranged by 宮川泰 (Hiroshi Miyagawa) in the original version . The song first appeared in the single, 冬の旅 (SV－1156), by Victor record company,
