  • Thank you for the review! I just read the Watchmen & was dipapointed. I agree with what you guys are saying.

  • from the guy who said the sin sity is bad.

  • heros rip off....? which came first my friends

  • You guys sit down every day or so, have a beer each and talk about sheer brilliant literature to a camera lens... I LIKE IT

  • LOL GUYS CALM YO TITS THIS WHOLE VIDEO IS A JOKE.

  • it is from the 80s......duh

  • This Was Made BEFORE Heroes Season 1

  • it's satire kids.

  • Yeah, this movie is written by the writer of such classics as "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" Sure whatever. Let me ask you guys (CBC) this: when was WATCHMEN first released? Think hard....and I bet you don't know the real answer.

  • you guys are great!! keep up the good work. If you don't mind I am going to use this review as an example on my soon to be launched website as an example of a great group review of a book. I appreciate the dialogue with no cuss words or profanity. Can be a learning experience for other people on school projects, just for fun or whatever appeals to people in giving a group report. Will let you all know when we launch. Best of the Best to you. CherylWilliams, San Antonio, Tx.

  • Best joke ever.

  • I just found this group of videos and , not that you need my thumbs up, but thumbs up! I'm a life time collector and wish I had friends like you guys to talk about books!

Took my wife of 23 years to see Watchmen and she enjoyed it because I was able to explain it to her. Great series and movie!

  • I'm not sure if they were joking! Maybe they were but there was nothing to suggest that their review of Watchmen was a joke.

  • Er... despite the fact that they're clearly trying not to piss themselves laughing while doing this? Have you ever watched any of the other reviews by these guys? They know comics. I can't believe people don't get this.

  • Actually, you should maybe watch to the end of this video before YOU comment :)

  • damn people that comment on this are retarded

  • i like how everyone commented before they watched the end

  • ARE U GUYS FUCKING RETARDED! THE COMIC WAS ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN THE 80s. So that's why the art looks old school, and Alan Moore wrote this so long ago and has written stuff like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and V for Vendetta, he is now in his 70s! You guys need to defininately come out from under your rock. This didn't copy heros, heros copied this, this was a pretty new direction in comics way back in its day!

  • You should probably watch the whole video. Just a thought :)

  • uh alan moore is 55.

  • You actually just made yourself look stupid because it was a joke they even said it was a joke

  • alan moore made the league of extrodinary gentlemen

  • Also correct!

  • lol

  • watchmen came out before heroes!!!!!!!!

  • Correct!

  • See, this is the reason why the movie works, because it's not a point of which is better, but if you understand what is happening in the story. It's obvious that they didn't understand what was going on from text... but I think the movie really does that as a different media to form the character and story.

  • you guys relly dont know anything about alan moore do you? the dude is in his like 70's! and the watchmen came out like 20 years ago! were the hell have you guys been?

  • heh. Watch to the end.

  • ive just watched this vid and read the comments, u guys loved this joke didnt u?

  • maybe we did. It certainly seems to have worked :)

  • This was an April Fool's Joke about a month early. LOL

  • Well, I'm just starting to get into the graphic novel scene. If you are one of those people who take pleasure in introducing your favorite graphic novels to others, then I am volunteering to give you that satisfaction.

Basically, my graphic novel list at the moment consists of Watchmen and V for Vendetta. Pathetic, I know. Feel free to point me in the right direction to what I should read next.

  • Neil Gaiman's Sandman, Art Speigleman's Maus. Any Of the Will Eisner Novels such as Life Force, or Contract with God.

  • y the last man or preacher. two insanely badass stories. so fun

  • My favorite line is "...Anything with a knife or someone yelling....."

  • you guys, alan moore has done a shit load of stuff atfer wathcmen, infact the new league of extraordinary genteleman graphic novel is coming out!

  • dare I say? watch to the end :)

  • what the fuck do you mean wathcmen is a rip-off of watchmen, watchmen came out a long fucking time ago, heroes riped off watchmen!

  • watch to the end :)

  • humar, my friend, irony.

  • now htat the films out people always think watchmen is simply a movie and an adaptation of nothing, we have to remember where it all came from, hte comic, not graphic novel, comic, as it was realeased so!

  • I think this book was famous for being the first RAW comicbook with blood, sex, and a complex storyline that goes beyond, "oh no! Lex luther is robbing the bank again."

  • wait, but blood sex and violence go way back before Alan came into the scene. What about EC of the '50's, or the undergrounds of the '60's.

  • The point of the undergrounds was, they were undergrounds. and I don't know wut EC is, sorry didn't get that into it

  • the guy in the middle is annoying, never lets the other guys finish.

  • is this review a joke, watchmen came out WAAAAY before heroes, im pretty gullible so dont make fun of me if it is

  • watch to the end :)

  • You guys would make colbert blush for sarcasm.

  • Ying Ling. Sweet.

  • ive just finish reading watch men i mean the pirate bits and the bits betwwen chapters was bad but its a amazingly good book althogh im pissed off that rorsch is killed by doc manhatten

  • Priceless, guys! You outdid yourselves. I think I may have peed my pants just a little....

  • That was funny.

    :D :D :D :D :D :D

  • f'in brilliant

  • SO FUNNY!

  • "anything with a knife or yelling..."

    that cracked me up

  • LOL ahahaha that was hilarious

  • lmao!!

  • Great video guys.

  • "Anything with a knife..." LMFAO!!!

  • you asked for it.... lol

  • It came out in the 80's!

  • This video is clearly a joke.

  • "The Guys Name is the comedian, but he doesn't say any jokes" Justin cracked me up and thats when I realised they were being sarcastic " "Pirates in the BOOK!!!" LOL

  • Greetings CBC, I've been following your vids for a few months now and always look forward to what you're gonna come up with next. At first, while watching this vid I thought I was having a mini-stroke, until I realized the sarcasam....You rascals. Especially, Justin he looks the most rascally. Am I right?

  • That's pretty spot-on.

  • Heh. This was great, guys. Cracked me up.

  • Awsome review guys...LMAO...

  • Wish they didnt put the disclamer at the end, just so we can clown on the clueless

  • oh just make fun of the clueless anyway, not your fault they have no sense of humor.

  • Lol.. "It's the kinda stuff they were doing in the 80's"... LMFAO!!!

  • That was some funny sh%t, that was best review of all time.

  • thats why I don't care these guys say they are mostly wrong

  • I love that there are people in the comments section not getting the joke. Adorable.

  • LMFAO wow.

  • Aside from the time setting the idea is solid and dare i say, timeless. The back story is a "tuck load" however, its for good reason and has the appropriate effect. Don't turn readers away from it because there is "too much" reading and back story. pretty epic characters if you ask me. GO OUT AND READ IT, not all comics should be effortless reads.

  • Hey guys,

Just heard about a movie with the same title, this has to be a record for comic to movie adaptation ever.

  • Best. Episode. Ever! Funniest shit I've seen in a while.

  • This has gotta be a joke...

  • comic book club!

  • this was a joke...

  • Nice.

  • gay

  • best episode ever.

  • Very funny. I wondered where you guys were going with that for a few moments.

  • Comment removed

  • i love you guys.....in a just friends kinda way.

  • Not sure everyone will get it.. but funny

  • assholes you think you were sarcastic enough

  • Comment removed

  • are you joking or did you really not get the whole point of this video?

  • This must be the introduction to the opposite sketches!

(since the book takes place in the 80's I figure my comments should be...um...well...never mind)

  • i have to agree..dont pick it up its horrible.....jeez...a Comedian with no jokes?..wow...jus horrible..and toooo much reading..i agree...dont pick this up...

    LOL...

  • lmao

nice. when i saw 'exclusive' i was was like, wait, what?

  • If Watchmen came out today, this would be the reaction.

  • i get the joke but it isnt funny, though what do you expect the comedian is dead after all (zing!)

  • get better mikes already! jeeez

  • Yeah I get it, it's the opposite of everything you guys said. I saw the film at a midnight showing last night and I can easily say this is going to be the biggest film of 2009. It is as accurate to the comic as it could have been. Just take it as an amazing film.

  • this was amazing... in a way, while watching this I was like questioning myself about my childhood... when I was 15 or so I read Watchmen and it blew my mind... it was soooo great and in a way it molded the way I saw things at that time... but when I heard you trashing the novel it was like "Ooooook... my childhood is actually dead" but thanks for the comment at the end hahaha it was great

  • to funny :)

  • I never knew you guys had it in you. This was by far the best review I've seen in a while.

  • haha...sarcasim...

Justin, are u wearing a cowboy shirt?

  • wow, for a minute there I thought maybe I somehow fell into a wormhole and ended up in some parallel opposite universe or maybe I was just unaware that it was bizzarro day or something. Thanks for clearing that up fellas!

  • lol this is so funny

  • You guys just won the internet.... LOL

  • Kings of satire, Comic Book Club are.

  • That was kind of weird. But I get it.

  • "It's like X-Force!"

    Brilliant.

  • Hmmm...I don't think I'll pick this book up. It sounds crap.

    LOL!

    Good one guys!

  • LETS WAIT THE FOX'S "funny" movie.. "a vigilante movie" a really "original" parody...

after the "whatmen" comic i'm really pissed...

  • Haha, the sarcasm is through the roof! XD

  • XD This review is hilarious.

  • just found out that u guys do podcasts too. awesome

  • Lol you guys are so funny!

Much love for the stack or comic book club)!

Its a bit like Incredables as well.

  • Wow talk about someone who does not know sarcasm when he hears it....They are reviewing the book as it was "NEW".GEEZ

  • Haha, wow

  • This comment is the definition of irony.

  • ..that's the joke.

  • Alan Moore's going to put a hex on you.....

cause i'm pretty sure he doesn't have the patience to watch this til the end lol

  • I'm kinda upset that you mention Alan Moore's book.

No, it is Alan Moore and DAVE GIBBONS's book. I hate the fact that people and fans of the book over look Gibbons.

  • I would rather read the Boys, now that's a fresh take on Superheros.

  • lolz

    i totally agree

what's up with this new guy alan moore?

    XD

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna pick up Jenna Jameson's Shadow Hunter instead, that one looks quite fresh.

  • LOL

  • it's as faithful a translation of the book that i think a film can be. its explicit politics are shitty and miss the subtlety of the book. it does capture the counterpoint between the dead end of triumphant reaction and lesser evilist liberal cynicism. i think moore is right and the film proves it by being such a good piece of art while failing to reach real depth. the movie's real achievement is in unifying its form with its content in inspired ways while pushing the boundaries of the genre.

  • lol, Very good review guys!

  • That's why I favorited you guys. Great review.

  • Sorry for the last grouping of words together. (RAN OUT OF CHARACTER SPACE)

  • Yeah, Watchmen the Film has a big buzz, probably due to sin city, 300 and the spirit having similar dark tone formats within them, but Watchmen has become more popular and well known, in my opinion, due to the fact it is all those 3 films combined into a superhero movie which has never been seen with a darker more sinister tone (apart from the Dark Knight) but it all just puts it into perspective. People want realistic superhero movies to reflect current times. Itis in 1985 butisstillas good2day

  • I'm Not old enought life is unfair.

  • I loved the movie. It was fucking briliant.

  • LOL To The Max!

  • LMAO!!!!!!! They were totally joking around!!!

  • Wait .... they're called the WATCHmen, but they have nothing to fo with telling time OR any device that tells time??

    GREAT vid!

  • A watch is very important to Dr Manhattan's background, and thus "Watchmen" and that's why there are lots of gears and watch parts used in the art

  • Heheheh. Man, watching you guys keeping that joke up for so long felt like being held under water. I kept waiting for the inevitable 'kidding!'

  • lol wtf!

  • This is great!!! I love the whole "Heroes" rip-off line, wow, your cynicism is right on!!
