  • @BillieBaby143 Because all the lift or leavening comes mechanically from the air you beat into the mixture, rather than from the chemical reaction produced by baking soda / powder.

  • Is it really necessary to put the eggs in a different bowl before adding the milk and vanilla? Was there something wrong with the bowl the eggs were in? It looked big enough to fit all of the ingredients. Besides that it looks like a great recipe.

  • Here is the recipe for the Perfect Pound Cake: Ingredients: 3/4 pound cold butter, roughly cut up to give the mixer a head start. 1-1/3 cups sugar 1/4 tsp salt 5 eggs 6 Tbsp milk 1 tsp pure vanilla extract 1-1/2 cups flour (all purpose) Method: Watch video for detailed directions. Pre heat oven to 350º Butter 9x5 loaf pan and line bottom with parchment. Flour sides of pan.
