it was my first time voting last year, i kind of understand nz politics and sometimes i don't lol but i think helen clark was a very good leader as far as i know we weren't given tax cuts quite simply because we could afford it as they (labor) were trying to get us out of debt? and now national is in they want to borrow billions of dollars to pay for tax cuts only to bring the country more into the deep end.
No Labour were not giving tax cuts because they were spending up large idiot! Labout had debt up as high as 30% which in fearness is still WELL bellow most other nations! Also National was only spending 1% more than Labour moving debt from 20 - 21% (from memory) and this was because we are in recession and need economic stimulus to eep NZ in jobs! We are not even close to the "deep end"
If anything Labour left New Zealand in the "red ink" which means zero money via there own bad spending!

it was my first time voting last year, i kind of understand nz politics and sometimes i don't lol but i think helen clark was a very good leader as far as i know we weren't given tax cuts quite simply because we could afford it as they (labor) were trying to get us out of debt? and now national is in they want to borrow billions of dollars to pay for tax cuts only to bring the country more into the deep end.

No Labour were not giving tax cuts because they were spending up large idiot! Labout had debt up as high as 30% which in fearness is still WELL bellow most other nations! Also National was only spending 1% more than Labour moving debt from 20 - 21% (from memory) and this was because we are in recession and need economic stimulus to eep NZ in jobs! We are not even close to the "deep end"
If anything Labour left New Zealand in the "red ink" which means zero money via there own bad spending!

The 90 day works in all other nations its used in and offeres people with NO hope of getting a job the chance to be give the opportunity to prove to the employer they are up to a job. A chance is better than no chance! Don't get me wrong though, I disagree with the reforms and think they went too far and is one of the major reasons I will always support the Greens or Progressives over Labour everytime. However it was desprate times and desprate times call for desprate measures, as I said before although I disagree with the reforms almost entirely it did do a great job of balancing the books.
