At about 36 minutes into this clip, I mention a bug-a-boo: health care for all Palo Altans. An Obama campaign worker suggested this plank to me and it seems the other candidates -- who are mostly lawyers and real estate functionaries -- cringe when the discussion goes to social issues. Government is not a business, it is a social service. "Public Option Palo Alto" -- let's at least calculate what it would cost. Mark W -- the guy on the far left.
If you cannot hear me on part of this it is because I attempted to bypass the Shure16a mic which was clipping out as the previous 13 candidates tried to use it. I was pretty shocked that I was heckled for such. Do you really want a leader who gives in to people yelling "Follow the rules!" "Obey!!" and the like? Mark Weiss
