I got my husband Shawn Sullivan (world class audio) an ebbe und flut for his birthday, and he uses it all the time. It has been used on many many many records. (5 mars volta records) I was shopping for a Sherman QMF, it is really hard to find as there was only like 96 or so made. However I was told the ebbe und flut does more. Some producer in N.Y. hip me to this German made beauty.

This demo certainly makes it seems more useful than the Restyler. Am I wrong?

The Restyler and ebbe are not really comparable as they are so radically different.

The ebbe would not be more useful if you need a stereo filter, as it is not stereo. The Restyler is. If you want to manipulate a mono source, the ebbe und flut is nothing short of amazing.

That's very interesting. I guess the Ebbe has more amplitude envelopes and tricks than the Restyler? The Restyler appears to have only basic modulation type controls, but it can mix the 3 filter types together; Ebbe can mix two filters, but has many different types!!

I guess the Restyler is more appropriate for my needs because I don't need complicated VC tricks

Such a shame the SEF doesn't have MIDI, would be so much more versatile... Still a great filter though.

ya i hear it the chasis is reinforced with human bone, the faceplate is carved from a section of ancient petrified tree, and it is hand wired with cable made from copper and gold salvaged from the titanic.
