yeah, but what they do for a living is to fly fighter-jets. these guys are regular fighter pilots of the swiss armed forces, and the best of them are flying in the patrouille suisse...

thunderbirds (and many other good airforce display teams) are very close together when it comes down to skill - you have to be a genius in flying to do stuff like they do.

the patrouille suisse is not "better" than other teams, but they do not try to impress the crowd by reducing the security distance, but by flying the formations as perfect as possible.

and they do have very few incidents/accidents, while other teams have a lot more.

i just love to watch 'em go crazy in the sky...

Like the thunderbirds only a helluva lot better. The Patrouille Suisse is the best demo team in the world. Flying unforgiving F-5s that tight in formation in the Alps takes some serious skill.
