If your having a go at single pillar taps, make sure you use this device, the Easytapsplitter, Ive used it and believe me it makes the job a million times easier, video on here.
Thanks for posting this video. I've got a couple faucets that I have to work on, and this vid explains the process very clearly. I feel empowered!!!! Thanks again.
Excellent job. Slow explanation without talking down to viewer. Covered all aspects well. Did not try to cut corners, which tells me this is a guy who I would pick to do work for me. If one cuts corners on the little stuff, one will cut corners on the big stuff. He did not get paid to put this video on, but I hope he gets business because of his fine video.
Nice to see someone that's articulate in teaching yet doesn't assumes you know step c and leaves it out. Great demo padna, I'll view all your other post that I may need.
I have just tried to take one of mine to pieces, its been leaking for months. Got the screw out, but the main part just wont lift off. I thought I lived in a soft water area, but it seems that limescale has "welded" the pieces together. I know white vinegar would dissolve it, but how do I get it to the bits that are literally cemented together?

Soonds to me like a Canadian accent eh. Yes, a good thorough explanation. I have had the experience where I have replaced the washer, only to have the bloody tap or faucet leak again. This explained the possible reasons for this.
Great vid. I did just as you instructed for our leaky faucet and found a small piece (5mm) of copper wire stuck against the washer. I removed the copper wire and put it all back together. No more leaks!
All in all the demonstration is very good and should help those who can't afford a plumber. Washers should NOT be allowed to leak for long. Over time water squeezing past a washer will ruin the seat. Buy the right grease and use it every time and on the 'o' ring, the valve will last longer & work better. There is a hex nut under the handle of the valve under the basin. This tells me that it has a packing gland not a 'o' ring so if it leaks just tighten it down a bit. Ken the plumber.
Thank you so much for posting - got me out of a hole!
