I see what you say about the notes continuing to play after a note is released and how you adjust the release on the instrument settings, the synths like Sytrus and Biohazard don't have the option for adjusting release and stuff on the instrument control. How do I stop those synths from holding the last note played? It ruins a song. Do I have to do an automation clip on the playlist and drop the volume out each time the synth stops? Please help, I watched all tutorials and can't figure it out.
hey guys smone please help me... im havin a rely serious problem... I have a casio MA 150 keyboard with a midi out with fl studio . Whenever i press a key on d keyboard a "note off" message comes in fl studio near the upper left corner n whenever i release the key a "note on" message comes. Why is this reverse effect?
Hey, Have you guys seen the new Windows 7 powered StudioBLADE computer workstations? They're perfect for running FL Studio and all your windows compatable plug-ins! Click the link below to see videos!
Ive watched this video over and over because there is so much valuable information here! I started off with fl studio not knowing my ass from my head. At least now, I can navigate freely within Fl Studio and actually impress not only myself but astonish others at what I can do now thanks to this guy! @Ste1438 Master FL Studio Teacher
Great Vid. But every time I load up my project I seem to have to go back to the channel and set the knobs........for example the echo on a particular channel. why is this? and how can this be saved to the effect settings will stay there? Thanks Much.
hey ste1438, i made a beat on fl studio 9, but i want to add music to it like professionals, do u have a video for it? or can you tell me where i can find and add some.
if i wanted to hold a note at a certain volume for lets say 20 seconds, how could I do that? for most instruments the hold is at max 4 seconds turned all the way up
@MazeEsports There are a couple ways - To hold the velocity turn the sustain all the way up. A more advanced technique to have it ring out for 20 seconds without needing to hold down the key would be to turn the release all the way up and automate it off at 20 seconds. I would just draw an extended note in the piano roll though. If you are using a short one shot sample like a bass kick. That is more difficult, but still possible by creating a loop point, and using the same technique.
@ste1438 Loop points for one shots can be created with Edison and that is not always easy to do. I'll have to upload a tutorial on creating loop points, it can be real useful at times. It's also a feature that not too many people are aware of. By using loop points, you can take a short sample and turn it into a sample that sustains forever when you hold down a note.
You can use an internal effects controllers. The xy controller can be handy here. The keyboard controller can give you nice control too. You can play pitch bends on a keyboard with that.
You can link a foot pedal to an envelope
you can record automation of a pitch knob.
You can use Portamento in the channel settings.
there are many other ways too - I think other will have more to add to this list.
thanx alot. although i dont really know half the things ur talking about because i learned fl studio all on my own for 2 years so i guess ill look those up on youtube and see if i can learn them. u can see my videos on my youtube but there old songs. my new songs are more improved and more creative. thanx for the help.
first make sure you have something in the piano roll or right click on the channel and "send to piano roll". Then right click on the control and select "edit events in piano roll".
Ahh OK. Actually I figured out that what I was looking for was an automation clip, but this actually fixes something else I was trying to figure out. Thanks!
sustain is how long the loudest/fullest point of the note lasts and decay is how long the drop off lasts (ie. how long the note spends getting quiet/weak)
if you play a guitar string it will sustain for a couople seconds and then it will continue to resonate but get quieter, that's decay
My piano on fl 10 sounds wierd, i play a low note and move it into the pattern box and when I play it, it sounds very high... how do I fix this?

when im using piano 2 it only gives me options like 'plugin' 'misc' and 'func' how do i sustain!????? HELP PLEASe

On instrument settings for volume, like hold, attack, etc., do they work on other samples or do they only work on samples that came with fl studio?

how do you pitch a sound? like trance/minimal house/ techno synths and sounds where it uplifts at a low pitch to a high pitch.
SKProduction92 2 years ago
There are several ways - it's a broad question...
record live with pitch bend controller or modulation wheel.
You can also use an automation clip on the pitch knob.
You can use the event editor.
use a pitch slider in the piano roll on FL generators.
delay effects and filer fx plugins often have pitch controls built in. Some plugins are made specifically for pitch fx.
ste1438 2 years ago
You can use an internal effects controllers. The xy controller can be handy here. The keyboard controller can give you nice control too. You can play pitch bends on a keyboard with that.
You can link a foot pedal to an envelope

fantastic tutorial.
but i still dont get the defference between decay and sustain. they seem to do the same thing.
