I am sorry, but with all the rubato and what not, this performance just didn't do it for me. I feel that there's not a viceral connection/ understanding of the music from the performer. The notes are all there, mostly, but it didn't move me at all.

I didn't really know this Liszt composition too well. You play it with a careful rubato - not too overdone at all. How lovely to play it on a brand new Piano!! The middle section sounds technically demanding using some of Chopin's innovations (I am thinking here of his Op.10 and Op.25 Etudes). I visited this page more times, and have reacted and rated also. I can't get enough of this performance. Some ones play a higher tempo, but specially I like the tempo in this performance. So I've downloaded this one and made a Mp3 of it, so I can listen much as I want.

So I oft say; hearing music like this, is better as all the medicines I use.

I'm an unexpert, so I have not the knowledge what is the way to play this beautifull composition, but I like yours. If I'm on the PC - that's the greatest part of the day (and night) - I very oft listen to the Mp3 file I made.

Some classic CD's I've more then one. Every performance is different.

By example I think I've the Requiem of Mozart four or five times an also la Traviata. Sometimes the difference in tempo is more minutes. So I like (also by example) Herbert von Karajan. One time he has quarrel during a repetition with Pavarotti. Logical Pavarotti want to show his voice. Von Karajan said to him: ''You sing what the composer means and not more, either I search for someone else for this recording.''

I like the broadness of the tempo you chose, it might seem slow in some accord, but it does bring out a level of intimacy in the piece which contradicts the misconception people have about liszt about being a shallow virtuosic composer for virtuosics sake.
