  • haha i love the sound he make!! HOOUU HAAO

  • Very close

  • whos willing to bet he dropped 6 loads in his pants when it hit? i know i would've

  • I'd say "gay reaction" (just to be fashionable...I just HATE that expression) :D but I have been there and you just can't help your reaction. Mine was "Fu" then the thunder hit.

  • Obviously lightning doesnt like being tape recorded:/

  • doesn't sound very loud, thats weird.

  • @SpywareHater Usuallty happens with video recorders. They have all sorts of audio shaping and limiting on them, to make recording easier. You see shots from lightning chasers and they always sound lame.

  • if u stop at 0:27 its creepy loookn

  • I would have shit in my pants lol

  • Ur one lucky guy

  • hmm..,yes yes...that was one good cg bolt....

  • it wasnt too close if you could say ooh before the thunder

  • @XTwisternickX As a person who has been closer to strikes more often than I really want, I will venture an opinion. Looking a the film, the main strike is some way away (about 0.5-1 sec to thunder = 500-100 feet. But there is a side strike that really does come down close. Also, the thunderclap that comes from lightning is a funny thing, if the strike is really close. It seems delayed more than logical. Maybe comes from further up the track? shrug.

  • the close strike wasn't the strike itself but a leader.

  • it was so funny in 0.25 when he was like OHHH????

  • if it was 10 feet away first of all it might have killed you and there wouldnt be any delay in the sound.

  • pause at 27 seconds it's like day light

  • that was more than 10 feet but it was great - looks like you live in a desert area like phoenix

  • Freeze the video and go to 0:27... looks like daytime

  • i think he handled that quite well to be honest.

  • Querrz

  • and those weren't the first two times. When i was 9, it was storming and lightning struck 30 ft. from my house but i was inside then when i was 14 going through a storm i saw a double lightning strike and it was not too far in front of me so yeah i've had quite a few close calls.

  • that happened to me twice in a day. I was sleeping, it was 2:30 a.m. and all of a sudden a loud lightning strike was right by my house and i jumped and later that day during my 5th hour class i was taking notes and another lightning strike struck right outside the classroom and we all jumped and some of us screamed. Hmm, twice in one day, what could that mean......

  • I managed to freeze the video in the few milliseconds of the strike. It actually looks like it struck the house next to the one with the red car. It strikes in the area where the chimney is usually located so I guess they have an aerial or something. Not too sure but that's how it looks to me.

  • PIKKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAACHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • I paused exactly where the lightning strike showed up on the video and I can see that it looks like it is in front of you but in fact it hit actually hit a house across the road from you so it wasn't anywhere near you which was very lucky.

  • ahaa

  • pause at 0:27

  • Nah...it wasn't "right here"... it's more like it was "right over there".

  • @NickolaiVolkov What I was thinking.

  • @cizzlen07 LOL!!! It's true, though! I would define "right here" as in...maybe the front yard? That was down the street several houses. Nice to know others agree with me. :)

  • @NickolaiVolkov I agree with you but u gotta admit that was pretty awesome. Probably within 50 -100 yards.

  • @mikey3348 I'd agree...it was close enough to the point where I'd probably jump. Still, THIS one is SUPREMELY awesome: /watch?v=Vqsvnm2VjEA :D

  • @mikey3348 Holy delayed response, Batman! :) The sound was pretty cool, and it was...relatively close, yes. However, I believe the best strikes are the ones you see but have no time to react before you're deafened...and rattled. :D

    /watch?v=kLJ6oqToKrc&feature=related

    /watch?v=Vqsvnm2VjEA

My two favorites on Youtube so far.

  • @ 0:27 it lights u[[ oh nice houses...

  • if you pause it just before the strike, you can see at least two streamers (the part that rises from the ground before the lightning strikes), one right in front of the screen door, and another on the other side of the road at the right. As far as i can make out, the lightning hits about four houses up that side street, so the actual bolt is not 10 ft in front of you (the streamer was), maybe 100-150 ft away, but still more than close enough to make you shit your pants :P

  • lol that was not 10 ft away.

  • nice scream...lol....anyway,,nice catch....

  • That lightning bolt actually struck on the street over or the one after that, if you watch closely you can see the houses across the street (directly in front of the lightning strike) stay dark, as the bolt passes behind it. The lightning bolt you "see" dropping below the edge of the video is actually a reflection from the lens onto the lens cover of your camera (there's a space between the actual lens of the camera and the cover that protects it from debris). Still, very very close strike. Nice

  • If you slow down the video the strike was actually behind your house and the camera lens caught the reflection of the bolt.

  • 0:50 It's just an ordinary day in a dark sky with god saying hi ten feet away from us and what's that noise.....BOOOM!! An angel just got a strike bowling in heaven!

  • fuck that, dude how that did not hit you i don't know, but to me that looked as if it struck pretty close to what looks like the fly screen on ya window, possibly door.

Talk about a shocking experience lmfa.

  • that sort of happened to me too. The lightning bolt accually hit at the tip of my sidewalk, but i don't know how many feet from me it was.

  • thats not even close

  • that bolt of lightning is huge

  • Watch your language!

  • yeah that was way down the street. You would have been knocked out if it was only 10 feet away.

  • Kinda far away - you could tell by the delay in the thunder.

  • @Riddco dude far away?

  • It hit about 2 houses down, if you pause it at 0:50. Where in Oregon did you move to? I just moved from Oregon to Arizona, and I get better storms here than I did in OR.

  • No, if you pause exactly at 0:49, you can see that it HIT 10-20 ft away.

  • OH!HH!!!!

  • lol. i'd hate to see some of you in a typical florida thunderstorm. Pretty sure we took back title of lightning capital of the world.

  • @yarful yeah, Florida is. the city with the most strikes is Tampa, i think

  • pause at exactly 0:50 you will see the strike is about 200 yards down the street at the first or 2nd house on the right and your neighbor has a nice truck btw hahaha

  • that was actually pretty close for comfort. I slowed it down and it was really close. I noticed the first bolt was tiny follow by the main bolt (a lot bigger) trust me folks its closer than you think!

  • i love the scream :)

  • LOL i keep relaying :30 "holy shit" XD

  • pauze at exactly at 0:27

  • @guildwarserik14 and they say thats hotter than the sun... lit.

  • this is proof lightning strikes go upwards basically hen at 45 pause it then double tapp the space button u will see it

  • @Mrsugarpuffy Lightning travels both ways. And why would you use a shitty hand held camera as the basis of your retarded conclusion?

  • @drone713 wow you take the internet seriously dont you buddy grow up i found out already and thisi s like a month ago

  • @Mrsugarpuffy Now why would you think that I take the internet seriously? Am I yelling? Do I seem mad? Why don't you just accept the fact that you're last comment was dumb?

  • @drone713 u seem upset cos u sed ure retarded conclusion so yeh dry your your eyes and grow up i got something wrong

if you where to say that in school ud just get laughed at get real prik

  • @Mrsugarpuffy Holy shit you're so dumb it's not even funny. It's clear that you're 12 years old, max. There's so many things wrong with you're comeback that you need to just go jump off a cliff and die. Arguing with a 12 year old is like talking to a monkey. A mentally disabled monkey.

  • @Mrsugarpuffy I guess I should've known better than to start an argument with a monkey.

  • @drone713 and for that one youd be beat up at school

let thing go before you grow into an over eager douche

  • @Mrsugarpuffy ....why did I start this.

  • Pause at 0:26

  • yea I think that definately was a posative streamer. That atleast was ten feet away. very close call!

  • I never though a guys voice could reach those pitches..lol

  • ghost effect from camera

  • That was def. NOT 10 feet yo.

  • No way that was 10 feet, there is a delay between the strike and the thunder. If it were 10ft away the thunder would have been almost instantaneous.

I'm not sure if that bolt you see in the video is a streamer of a reflection but if it was a streamer and it connected...well that would have made for a great video!

  • @acapone84

Yeah. it looks like 500-1000 feet away. To the average person that means nothing. I have been struck by lighthing as well as had a few close calls. When lightning is literally on you, you get paralyzed for several seconds and pushed around. There is a snapping noise and that is it, a massive blast and snap (or several if there are pulses)...and when you wake up, it's impossible to breathe because you are so scared and your body/cardio is in shock

  • @PositivelyBored bull shitt

  • dude if u like pause the video exactly when the lighting bolt hits, it makes it look like its day time, but u hav to pause at the sametime were the bolt hits which is like 0:27

  • The thunder is approximately 1 second behind the lightning, which is around 1/5 of a mile.

  • dude that lightning wanted you... you created a charge that the lightning was highly attracted too... and you made that bolt hit a house down the street O_O looks like.... wow i wanna say 100 feet.... very max... maybe even 50 feet. thats so crazy... but nice scream it made the video complete :D

  • @Coffeeboy08 guy give him a break 10 feet 50 feet what do you think would of got him more verys

  • I had a lightning strike hit about 2-300 ft from where I was once when I was outside, You can see it make all kinds of colors (Red,Purple,Blue) Its fucking awesome (and scarry as fuck) to see. pretty amazing lightning is...

  • def not 10 feet, otherwise it would have been simultaneous and deafening as well as very very bright

  • I've lived here all my life and have gotten some awesome footage of really close lightning strikes, one strike turned everything on in my house... I didn't think lightning could do that without overloading the electronc devices. 5 stars mate!

  • As my dad would say "Betta take ya lil' ass inside"

  • If you pause when the video gets to 50 secs you can really see the lightning. That was CLOSE

  • awesome lightning your funny, the one at 50 sec do not connect either,he loops the video at 49 sec it's the same strike, take a look at the light pole and how it changes position and yes lightning does strike in the same spot twice or even three times, rare, but it happens, the difference is the bolt never travels the same path it did earlier,it's like a finger print,no one strike is the same.

  • With that streamer coming out of the camera man and one from the other spot in the distance I think this guy got very very very lucky.

Maybe cause it branched in 2 places he didn't get the full amount of the strike. Amazed he didn't get hurt.

  • thn again at 50. this time the two streamers met.

  • hold it at 27. There is a streamer jumping from him.

  • Hod hates u. U nearly got hit 2 times. I would want 2 b there.

  • 0:26

  • that lightning is massive!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • From what I can tell, the bolt started just behind your house in the sky and stretched over to maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 mile over in the distance.

Deffinately something to jump for! ^_^

  • i think its cool the way lightning sounds when it strikes near you.

  • That was about 100ft 2 hoses down, but none the less, HOLY SHIT

  • @maverickslife there was another one later, at 0:53

  • pause @ 0:27 amazing......

  • @theoneali i know right

  • The video is real. Howeve,r having worked with video for some time now, you can realize this close lightning is simply a defect in recording as the lightning is so bright that it's image jumps onto surrounding frames of video. NOTICE the "close" lightning is exactly the same shape (but ALWAYS) less bright than the one in the distance.

  • Gosh make this one in slow motion that is just incredible!

  • take another look at this video paused at 27 sec look at the bolt and the house below it in the middle i believe there is ball lightning

  • people need to shut the fuck up about saying its real especially datkoolbrutha. i know its real and as for others who think this shit is fake then your fuckin stupid.

  • Anyone who thinks this is fake is nothing but a troll looking for attention! Maybe they should trying to do the same thing and see what happens.

5 stars for this clip. And fuck anyone who thinks it's fake!

  • By the way, Nice scream bud. LMFAO

  • THIS VIDEO IS REAL! stop hating on his film. You can tell its real because at 0:27 when the lighting appears. it appears from the ground first which causes a electromagnetic pulse. Also at 0:27 a milosecond or 2 after it. when the lighting strikes on his lawn, the entire screen is lit with light. If it would be a fake video, the screen wouldn't of been Lit. This lighting bolt isen't a very effective strike, but it IS real.

  • Very nice leader and if that connected.................It would have been LOUD!!!

  • techinically lightning did hit 10 ft away but not exactly. what you experienced was a streamer which poses as a target for the ligtning charge. if the lightning did connect with the streamer you would have experienced much more violent and instantanious thunder.

  • i was actually thinking that, coz this one time, lighting hit this house about 10houses away, huge flash and the thunder hit almost instantly and shook the house for about 5seconds. but still that was amazing

  • Pause it at exactly 0:27. You can see lightning coming up from the ground too!

  • lol keep watching 0:25-0:28.

    lol

  • I dont know if you believing fools have ever been close to lightening, like say 350 yards or over 1000 feet, but the intensity if the boom is like some one inside your head shot a cannon in there.

It is REALLY REALLY REALLY LOUD.

this was not even comparable to that...

  • woow man .. pasue at 0:27 . you see all like it was day :D nice

  • Your vocal reactions are exactly the same for both strikes..Strange that.

  • @andybrov

    Yes, it's called a replay.

This is what editors do when they feel they need to show something twice.

    The more you know.

  • ok i wached the 0:49-0:50 ... but at 0:50 look how the streets appear at night.. its better than uv or any nightvision!

  • look at 0:50 and stop video !!

  • That was about 400 feet away. At 10 feet your shoes would have been blown off your feet!

  • @larry785 he probably would have been vaporized if it had hit him too

  • @larry785 you can even see the bulk of the strike hit the house down the street. Good call.

  • @larry785 or feet out of shoes

  • @larry785 not 400 ft about 150

  • Wow,that was as close as your going to get without getting hit by it, awesome video! One in a million shot!

  • after done the video pause at 50 and u will see it hit out of his devolpment and its was so big the brach struck an electrical unit (which was camera)

  • it is real pase at 27 seconds to see it hitting the street XD

  • Looks like the main bolt stuck somewhere in the middle of the street, but the bold that branched off from it looked like it actually touched ur window. Thank god for glass right? haha. I was in a shopping mall parking lot and a bolt came down and hit my windsheild. People crowded my car thinking I was dead inside. I didnt feel a thing. Not even a tap on my windsheild. Glass is good. lol

  • at 0:27...thats a positive streamer. the main bolt struck somewhere across the street....

it was still close and fuck though.

  • u were inside the house!thx for the video (for those who think is fake why do u see this video dumb ass hole!)its totally awsome by the warth of god .alleluia

  • 10 feet my ass, lol

  • fake

  • 0:27 and 0:50 are the same thing the video was edited

  • 2 Times the exactly same Flash????

    I Think it´s a fake.

stop the flash and look .

  • actually lightning goes from the ground up first the comes back down to the ground

  • it´s 2times the same flash.same words he say.look at the window after the flash.

It´s just 1 flash and bevor the vid. end he repeat it

  • Lol, the first one was real, the second one they just replayed the scene. You can tell by the change in sound/atmosphere before the second one.

  • Took about 1.5 seconds for the thunder so it was probably about a quarter mile away, which is still close. The camera made an image of the bolt that appears to be up close.

  • fake

  • chek 0:50 out

  • its funny but the lighting strike was awesome and crazy i love this video

  • I didn't know Scooby Doo lived to AZ.

  • pause it at 0:26 you can see the lightning perfectly striking the 3rd or 4th house on the right side of the street! only thing wrong with is is its not ten feet but damn thats close! 5*

  • its not at 0:26 its at 0:27 almost 28 and it didnt strike the house, it struck behind the houses.

  • Stop the video at exactly 0:27 and you can see it perfectly. And just before that there is a little line of it it's a really cool video. Reminds me of the day my grandmas house got hit by lightning.

  • That teaches ppl to stay off the window... But you and me, we are stormchasers, right, bud? Nice shot!!

  • i was at football practice oneday and we decided to go and seek cover in the school that we were practicing at and on our way in we walked under a covered walkway with trees right next to it i was about 4 feet away from the tree when it was struck i would prably be dead if it werent for the fact that the walkway was concrete

  • lol that scream xD OHOOO

  • ja pierdole

  • It's a camera issue: the fast 'flash-frequency' is too high for the camera to cope with: try filming a strobe, and you'll get the same effect. It is a very nice catch besides that.

  • at the tail end of 0:49 you can see the step leader coming off the viewers house, wouldve been REAL bad had it connected!

  • Lightning didn't strike 10ft, however what was 10ft away was a charge stream that leaves from earth which reaches out to the lightning from the sky. This can be clearly seen at 27 seconds. Also take note that its leaving from the house on the right. When the lighting charge from the sky connects with this, a lightning strike is created.

  • yeah...magic...got it.

  • that was awesome! but honestly if you were 10 ft away now surely there would be a louder thunder clap!!

not to mention the fact that you could see it hit the ground!!!!

  • Hey man, this is pretty sweet, but it doesn't actually hit 10 ft away, it hits a house down the road. I've caught some strikes on my digital camera, and when its close like this, it causes a frame or two to get all screwed, and kinda off-set. Here it makes the bolt look like it's right outside your door. If you pause at 0:25 and then double click to pause again, you'll see the ACTUAL bolt of lightning, and where it hits.

    try it :)

  • Comment removed

  • lol " HOLY SHIT that was right here"

  • lol instead of swearing go back inside

  • If you go frame by frame at 27 secs you can see the whole neighborhood lit up like daylight. I saw something similar once when a comet flew past Vancouver in the middle of the night. The duration was longer unfortunately I didn't have equipment at that time.Happened too fast anyway.

  • o shit close call man!

  • Nice ghost lightning. It if were really that close, the delay between the strike and the boom would have been instant.

  • agreed

  • i pause the video just in the thunder, it's amazing!

  • Next catch. Though its actually a bolt a block away hitting the apartments.

  • 0:49 You can see two lines of lightning going up hes lucky the one next to him didn't connect or someone would have been saying " do you smell something burning? lol

  • Oh and the one at 0:27 good eyes m3myslfandu

  • "housten we've lost a lampost"

    epic lightning bolt 5 *

  • omg its so fast i cant even pause it gosh

  • That is the most PERFECT lightning bolt frame when you pause it at the end of 0:26!

  • lower flash might have been a positive leader. The camera didn't have enough FPS to catch it longer

  • i dont think he saw the main thunderbolt, the flash and crack of thunder was too long apart, abeit it was close but what he caught is a leader sprouting off the ground, these are harder to capture on camera but if you look to the right theres a second leader going up too

  • stop at beginng of 0:27, holy!

  • 0:50 (pause) damn who wouldve thought there was a dodge ram?

  • i agree with the camera person HOLY SHIT!!!!!!

  • Not fake, but not as close as he thinks it is.
