  • Every time I use that peck deck machine I feel deep pain in my delts and elbows. However, I do get a good feel in my chest.

    Personally I'll stick with cables and dumbell presses. Just curious..... Do you feel any discomfort on these?

  • Personally I don't like any chest machine, any of them. None of them are remotely comfortable. The fixed plane makes it feel so unnatural, and often painful for me. The only machine I use really are the HS back machines from time to time and the Cybex Tri extension if my tendonitis is acting up.

  • Naw, I've been lifting plenty long enough to know my limits. Even with very light weight I have much discomfort on this machine. However I like hitting the rear delt with it when I don't do face pulls on delt day.

  • Same I hate this machine too, but I think I am too short for this machine. My arms arnt long enough. I prefer the free weight.

  • Very good point. I never thought of that. I am 5'6" in shoes. :) My thinking would be that it would favor the short guy. BUT now that I think about it the flexion favors the taller person on this machine.

  • I know, now imagine being 5'2 and 1/2 in shoes...this machine is just embarassing.

  • I was wondering on the pec deck flyes, is it better to do a lot of weight for reps (if you can), or keep the weight lower and do reps. I can do the stack plus a 45lb plate on my gyms peck deck for 10-12reps. I can do the stack for 15-20. I know all machines are pullied and weighted differently but I have always been strong for some reason on pec deck exercises. So, I was just wondering if anybody has any concrete info as to which is better or should I just stay with what I feel is good for me
