One of the strangest ballets I've ever seen. I know it is Mid Summer Nights Dream which is very dreamlike in parts, but this ballet takes on an alien-like quality. Couldn't take my eyes off it, but I'm not sure how I really feel about it. Tthe dancers are magnificent. The choreography is just so odd/weird/wonderful (I think?). I tell you what tho if anyone tell me I'm too thin, I'm going to tell them to check out this video-wow, she's a little reed, but absolutely beautiful body movement.

If you haven't but see a company doing it somewhere DO go and see it, it is an amazing ballet and the weirdness of the movement in this pdd just adds to separate the human world from the fairies. the set is amazing and the lighting is gorgeous. the whole ballet is fantastic!!!

the purposeful dissonance is so grating. weirdness for weirdness' sake. this is a beautiful dance but claiming shakespeare's work seems more like a namedrop than an inspiration.

I think it's incredible choreography. I saw Alina Cojocaru dance last night at the Hamburgische Staatsoper and it was incredible - her body moved like water in the dream sequences. I think Zakharova's physique is perhaps more suited to these sections though. I love the way that the dancers in the whole dream section look so sexless and fluid.

Hey I love this ballet. I remember watching Royal Swedish Ballet do it while i was still a student there. I loved it and it brings back so many memories watching it here. Is it this clip from a DVD or something?

Yes in fact I prefer it if the choreography is a bit easier, so you don't see how hard the dancers have to concentrate. But it's amazing nevertheless.

I think she is extreamly beautiful in many ways, but I just can't stand her arms.
