  • Mr. Hartmann I suggest that if you are unable to do the carbon chain chemistry youself, that you not beleive what those disgusting climate change monsters are telling you about it.

  • Google "Al Gore's carbon footprint" for an amazing window into personal hypocrisy.

  • I really don't know what to do.

  • I thought Jimmy Carter's ideas were going to change the world until Reagan got rid of them. Hey, if western civ is to blame, then I expect all of you libs will be the first to shut down your computers. The Internet consumes 10% of the country's power.

What a shock that a liberal wants to completely control what everyone does. All wrapped in this scare tactic they cannot prove even exists. They don't believe in God, but they sure believe in human-induced global warming.

  • @PeteBKay You realize that you sound silly and kind of dim-witted by lumping all "liberals" in the same category and using the term "they" to refer to all people who don't think like you, don't you. You do, don't you?!?

  • since the US doesn't have that much industry left but does have large scale agriculture which pollutes the environment much more then industry now..nothing will happen till an environmental disaster happens like the glaciers on Greenland slides into the sea and raises sea levels

  • excellent

  • the US government has been bought and paid for by the corporations.. the people are just fooled into thinking they have anything to do with the government..everything revolves around the corporation's needs ..the US is the most militarized country on the planet.. in 1960 it was the military-industrial complex now it is the military-industrial-government complex..

  • your nation is the new Roman Empire

  • Great stuff, Thom. Everyone should take ten minutes and watch this video! So many have no idea....

  • excellent points. industries probably see pollution and waste as a competitive advantage and as profitable. ironically, they may be wrong even in their amoral assumption.

  • Very good piece on the realities facing the American public vs. Corporate greed and largess. Thanks Thom for the dose of realism.

  • thom hartmann at his best

  • One of the problems, in the U.S. at least, is that about 30% of the population believes the Rapture and end of the world are almost upon us so why worry about global warming? Also, these people are already predisposed to distrust science because of their growing fight against evolution, which threatens the credibility of the Genesis version of Earth and life formation. To these people, science is rapidly becoming viewed as an attribute of the old 666 beast of their superstition.
