Lacuna Coil is more along the lines of Paradise Lost and Moonspell soundwise even though they have their own sound as well. They are only compared to the likes of Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica, and other acts because the vocalists are female.

Amy and Cristina have absolutely nothing to do with the "quality of the music". They are just vocalists. They don't write ANY of these songs. They just sing beautifully and try to look good! Real musicians sulking in the background should really get more credit.

I think LC being from Italy and speaking Italian in many of their songs hurt them a lil. Or mebe Ev just writes better songs. But Swamped, Comalies and Tight Rope are great!
