2000-01 were VQ30DE-K's (3.0 v6) rated at 222 hp. I have one. Its fucking slow.

It's slow compared to what? are you comparing these to a car with twice it's motor? My friend has an 01AE Full exhaust, obx headers, cattman the rest of the way back and e-manage and he runs away from mustang gt's and lt1 camaro's like it's his job. They aren't slow. they just have an extremely restricted exhaust, they have like 4 fucking cat's dude. Just learn about your cars potential. They aren't fast but they can pass quickly. ;) Good Luck

the 2000-2001's have the VQ30DE-K and has 222hp. The 2002-2003's have the VQ35DE and have 255hp. The 2004-2006's have 265hp. I dont know about the 07's and on because I dont care about the stupid CVT transmissions.

rkyat: a VQ35 6spd maxima is about 208 WHP. Intake/Headers/Exhaust and tuning you get about 245 whp

a stock vq30, with a t3/t4 turbo kit, k&n filter, ypipe, and catback, with a MEVI setup, will put down 375 to the wheels. If you want to change injectors, internals, etc., you can expect up to 500hp. Look at Cesars Chariot for god sakes, the thing runs under 10's

A newer maxima comes stock with around 250hp already so by the time you add a turbo and tweak it out a bit you can go well over 350... -.-
