nice clean tones....but roll that volume forward on the guitar and out pops Eddie Van Halen circa 1978! Your amps are definitely on my radar, so to speak....next year or so(dependent on the economy), I'll definitely have one of these 50-watters perched atop my 412.
This amp brings tears to my eyes... It seems to have retained all the beauty, behavior, attack, everything you love about the nonmaster, yet has that extra sauce that the normal nonmaster is missing. My gawd I can't wait to get one of these or a mod, whatever, this is what i've been looking for the past 30 years. I can't stop listening to these amp demos. It's time to treat my Lester and me to some tone heaven. Somebody is finally doing these things the right way. Hats off my man!
The amp sounds great.. love the way i cleans up.. Just would love to hear a demo with a totally dry sound so you get what the amp truly sounds like.. thank you
@RexCars1 Thank you. The reverb you are hearing was added afte rwards, and is on the right side only. So, if you use the balance control and pan to the left, you can hear the amp totally dry.
@DavidBrayAmps Thank you very much for the reply.... Note taken.. oh by the way.. Love the way the amps go from clean to dirty with just the guitar volume
@D3COMO Wow, I'm late on this. This is without the Plus feature engaged, so Mod I. Options you are hearing are Harmonic Switch and Vintage Hot Switch, in Hot Mode. Output level was on about 3.
Dave I have always thought that your mods are among the best and this video just reaffirms my opinion! Would you be able to mod a Bugera 1960 since its similar to a plexi?
@uterallindenbaum : Can you be more specific? There is a lower gain classic type clip of a 4550 you can check out, and I try to show how the amp can get clean just by the guitar's volume pot on all of them.
After hearing your Marshall mod work..i was wondering if you can do anything with a jcm900 4100 dual master dual reverb...somehwere along the lines of a VH mod...you do a great job modding as well as building amps from the ground up D.B.!
I am a Splawn owner, but I think this might be my next amp. How with this do at lower (not too low) volumes? I have a 16 ohm THD Hot Plate already that I can use. I play at church, but we get pretty loud with drums and all.
It comes with an output level control on the rear, is extremely convincing even at very low levels (I call it the Wife Knob). These clips are all made with the the output level rolled back (so I can save my hearing!)
Thanks! Is the volume control the same type thing as my effects loop volume control on the back of my amp? The new Splawns have this so you don't have stick a volume pedal in the loop.
Welcome Mister Bray; Im not kind in any ways, I'm just saying the truth. One day I'll be a proud owner and player of a bray Amp, the plexi replica you build and I'll make scream my guitar for kwijibo. Have a great week - Zeb

@DavidBrayAmps Hi David, In this particular video, what mod
does this amp have, mod 1, 1+ or another? Also, did you include
any of your options on this particular amp (if so what are they)
and were they engaged for any of the tones on this recording.
Thanks Dave!

That's it. I'm now saving money for a Bray. I have other custom amps for specific tones but I needs me one of these! Case closed!

would a jcm 2000 dsl 100, be worth modding for a Demartini, Lynch tone? or would I be better off modding a 1987x reissue plexi instead?

woah dude you actually built this?

On this clips the amp is always with the volume at 10 right? thanks!
lollo1991 1 year ago
@lollo1991: If you mean the master/output level control, it is set pretty low.
The gain is set anywhere from 3-10, depending on if it's more of a classic sound, or a more aggressive one. :)

Right on, you started making your own amps. I knew it'd be a matter of time. Excellent work this is also my next amp. \m/

This has an incredible sound, exactly what i'm looking for, just one question..
What is the difference between the 50 watt head, and the 100 watt?
cause i wanna be able to put this through multiple cabs, will i lose any of the tone if i go 100 watts?
thebrays09 2 years ago
Thank you! No, you will not lose any tone. The 100 is simply louder, if you need the volume. If you don't, the 50 is lighter to carry.
DavidBrayAmps 2 years ago
the difference is that the 100 watt head has 50 extra watts. lol. just messing ith you.
