How come, when the spaceship is destroyed, there's a proper model explosion effect on the trailer but not on the film itself?
I think the acting quality was good on this film throughout, not just Klaus. Judging from the commentary they escaped any major tantrums in this film. This was after all shot in the comfort of California, not half-way up the Amazon with Werner Herzog.
I saw the movie in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, in the summer of 1985. They wouldn't allow me to enter the KuHO/KINO because I had a bomb in my big backpack. In the end they let me in if I left my backpack by the box-office and I figured that if there was a bomb I'd rather leave out there. As there hadn't been any explosion during the movie they decided to treat me to a royale tour of the KINO complex.
P.S. I agree with 007 in Miami after having seen "Fitzcarraldo".
Kinski must have clocking at least 5 tantrums a day during filming. All those crap actors he had to work with, man, I would not want to be on that set.
This was one of the WORST movies I have ever seen. I LOVE Kinski but he couldn't polish this turd of a movie. There is nothing in this movie, the characters are all hate-able and the story ludicrous. Save yourself two hours and skip this piece of crap.
e ora, anglofoni del ca..., beccatevi 'sto commento in italiano: questo film è meraviglioso!!! L'ho visto quando avevo 13 anni e non ne ho più dimenticato l'atmosfera. Mi ha fatto amare il genere. CIAO
Thanks for the recommend. If you enjoyed Kinski's performance you will probably enjoy his daughter Natasha Kinski in "Cat People." She's a lot like him. Monjinou - The Naked Truth
I haven't seen the movie yet, but based on the reviews I've read, I know what you mean. Critics have said this one is actually a good drama, comparing it to "Blade Runner" and "Metropolis". Since Roger Corman's studio put this movie out, the trailer focuses on the film's sexual and violent nature, even though it got away with a "PG" rating in the US. Thanks for posting.

I can't believe Kinski passed up Raiders of the lost Ark because it had a "shitty" script.

I love Kinski but I do wonder why he turned down Spielberg for Raiders 'moronically shitty' script and then did stuff like this?!

The font they used to create the logo for the movie REALLY looks like some 50's diner sign.
I still haven't watched it and probably won't...I've got too many things to do.

Klaus Kinski plays in Time Stalkers, a low budget sci-fi TV movie as well. I liked Time Stalkers but can't find it.

interesting trailer - i think it gives the film too much of a horror feel - i always think of android as a light fluffy kinda flick!
