This kind of shit advertising already got banned back in 2006-07, i am from India and i am ashamed of adverts like these, it's so fucking sick and embarrassing to see such adverts because the normal people actually take this stuff seriously, they teach their kids with racism without even knowing it's racist. @love000135 actually there are dark indians everywhere!!.80% of indians regardless of their region are on dark or dusky side. it's got nothing to do with north or south. that's simply a stereotype. north indians are far more insecure and hence you only see a lot of pale skinned females in bollywood.

Many of the people living nearby in Iran are more or less indistinguishable in appearance from Europeans. The whole idea of skin lightening for cosmetic purposes alone is BS but there would be other reasons for it, for instance vitiligo. I realise this has nothing to do with that of course.

When they turn to leave the receptionist tells her friend that the if the girl has to look beautiful then she cant live in vedic times (implying that she has to look for modern methods to do so).

This results in the girl getting jobs in modelling agencies and becoming successful in life...... tbh i think this ad was a bit stupid... ppl succeed using brains not beauty.

When i was in India last summer, one of the staff working at the beauty salon that i regularly go to was like "wahh.meri favorite actress.kitni ghori aur sundari hai"(WOW.My favorite actress.She's so fair and pretty") on seeing Kareena Kapoor on tv. From that, the conversation turned to her later revealing to me that he family call her

I felt so bad for her(not because she was dark but because i could see she suffered from a low self esteem). This is not a exceptional case. My closest friend from high school(who's indian too but a tiny bit darker than me) refuses to come swimming with during the afternoon cuz she doesn't want to get darker.
