holy shit as soon as this started it blew me away. ive been usually listening to my usual avant garde metal or progressive black metal....and was looking for some other inspiration. fuck this stuff is like an aneurysm trying to comprehend how he composed this.
@Nuthane Metal and classical are more similar than people realizes. Metal is talked down a lot because people think it's "just noise" but fail to see its complexity, technicality, and essentially its intricate beauty. They're probably more similar to each other than any other genre.
This piece is more than magical, yes, but I'm a newbie classical music listener, and I really can't understand that "turning-point" between 1:15 - 3:39 . The mood is changing so rapidly that it sounds like a mainly different piece, and to be honest I don't really like that, i like the 0:00 - 1:15 interval. Why is that? Is it me that can't understand his music?
@MyTubeBerko Ha ha it's because you pay too much attention to the key change. The mood may have changed a bit, but it's still the same song, just like a poem can speak of the bad day yesterday for a while and them come back to the beautiful today. I call those turning points the coming out of the cave, or going into the cave. Romantic music is very often like that. Modern music almost never changes from major to minor, or minor to major. So you have to get used to it slowly.
@darkyoda, wow, I do exactly the same. And it makes me think of the Titanic because of the really old PC game that had similar music in it, it's excellent.
I relax to this song. I rather hate to admit that I partake of the green fairy (absinthe) in the traditional method. For some reason every time I do I'll listen to this. It takes me back to another era in many ways. For some reason it makes me think of being on the Titanic, though I'm not certain why.

I know what you mean, the middle section chopin's having a bit of a classical wank.

You can tell the performer doesn't respond much to the middle section too.
