  • Hey Becky, I am a chinese. But unfortunately, I don't know how to speak mandarin, but I am determined to speak mandarin. My English is fluent, but I have been always been shoved by my friends due to my inabilities to speak mandarin. I hope by your videos and my determination, I will succeed one day. Love your videos.. =D

  • @angkeatki Haha. Then join us and make progress. I'm glad that you have such confidence which is important for Chinese learning.

  • i feel embarrassed following along as i say it aloud to myself!!!

  • @DancingMedicineMan Don't feel embarrassed. You are practicing and making progress. And you will have a chance to speak Chinese with someone else.

  • From a native English speaker's ear, at least, to mine, the first sound in Xing (the X part) is very difficult to pronounce properly - we simply don't have quite that soft of a 'sh" sound in English, so I am always struggling to understand what I'm supposed to be doing with my tongue to properly produce that sound. So, it comes out "SHH-EEN G", if I try to say it quickly sometimes. Very frustrating. It's hard even though my girlfriend is a native mandarin speaker and teaches me words daily.

  • @sonbuhitsunei Hi, nice to hear from you. The pronunciation of the Chinese is a little bit difficult and you may need to take some time to practice them. We have uploaded some pinyin lessons which may help you with pinyin. You may take a look at them and hope they help.

  • In brazil,we have two family names, one comes from the mother and another comes from the father, for exemple:Lucas Silva Lima.if somebody asks me "ni gui xing",i would say both family names or just the last one?

  • @Ferinoification You should say the both family names. "Ni gui xing" means "What's you family name?" So you can just tell what is your family name.

  • ni hao!ni shi a wonderful laoshi!xiexie nin!greetings from Baxi!!!!

  • @Ferinoification Ni hao. Hen gaoxing renshi ni. Hope you stay with us.

  • @ahmadsolehin93 Hi,does this sentece: "ni chiang se mo? " come from the video? Sorry that i can't recognize it. Could you help to give me more details?

  • @MinnaXiao im sorry,, that sentence did not come from ur video.. im just asking

  • @ahmadsolehin93 Oh, no problem. So you may give me more clue and I’m going to help you in any way.

  • @MinnaXiao ok,,, how about this,, mister, i want to buy this item,.? how much the price..? can u give a discount?

  • @ahmadsolehin93 If you want to ask about the price, you can say “这个多少钱 ?(Zhè ge duōshǎo qián?)” . If you want to ask for some discounts, you may say “能便宜点吗?(Néng piányi diǎn ma?)” Could you give a discount? Hope it helps.

  • @ahmadsolehin93 When your'e saying "ni chiang se mo" are you thinking of ni "xiang shen me"? That means "what are you thinking about", if it was that you meant.

  • @MissFeiLunHai hmm, i think what you said is closer. :P

  • @MinnaXiao Okay than it means what are you thinking about :)

  • Good Video , Best Wishes , Imran Hasan

  • @khatpandwa Hi, so glad that you love our videos! We have another account on youtube: eChineseOnline , and we upload new lessons every day. Hope you enjoy them.

  • @MinnaXiao Thanks for reply. I had 3 months Mandarin lessons (last year) and that was helpful. Your video is also helping. I hope one day I will speak Mandarin fluently. One day I will also travel to China. Best wishes. Imran Hasan.

  • Will I have to pay to learn Mandarin fully?

  • @16Brandan Don’t have to. Self studies could also work. And we have got some free lessons and you can also try our free trail. Hope you enjoy them. :P

  • do you know if you can post a video on writing chinese

  • @ChomoroPride We are considering about making video lessons on writing Chinese. Currently, our videos are mostly about Chinese reading and speaking. And I think reading and speaking should lay some foundations for writing Chinese. So you may just learn Chinese step by step.

  • 0:47 - she is showing the hyeroglyph that means "ten" with her fingers, right when she is saying "ten".

  • @MaXingTien Good explanation. :)

  • We are the Knights who say nin! ;)

  • @garamonde Are you? Great. Nin is used to show high respect of someone.

  • 40 seconds into the video and I'm smiling together with her as she says that we should learn Chinese together. Kinda... Creepy. Still a bit funny.. xD

  • @P0mpan Oh, creepy…. May I know what have brought that kind of feelings?

    Don’t be afraid. :D

  • @MinnaXiao Hypnotism.

  • @P0mpan Could you help us by giving some suggestions that make it exciting?

We have tried new ways and we upload new video lessons under the account of eChineseOnline, you may take a look. Hope you like them.

  • @MinnaXiao I already think this is exciting :) I will do that!

But isn't there a way to write European names in Chinese?

  • @P0mpan Sure. Almost all names can be written in Chinese according to transliteration or semantic translation.

  • @MinnaXiao Nice! I'll just have to find out what the second half of my last name means.. :P

  • @P0mpan Yeah, and i look forward to knowing your Chinese name. \(^o^)/~

  • i like it! :)

useful. im korean and i love chinese language!

  • @Ms3JeongaYoon Hi, I'm glad that you love our video lessons. In fact, Chinese could be easier for korean to learn. :)

  • you're really pretty. keep up the good work

  • @davidfof13 Thanks. We will. Hope you could join us.:D

  • Thank you with 心 so much!

  • @aalexxanderr wow. I like your sentence. You learn so fast. By the way, more interesting videos are uploaded under the account of eChineseOnline. Hope you could come and join us soon.

  • haha i'm chinese and i can't pronounce the "xing" part right D: !!!! i shall study harder on manderin....

  • @MrYamaMsChii Oh, may I know which place of China you from? Maybe the local dialect has influenced your pronunciation.

  • @MinnaXiao i speak 中山话(it's similar to cantonese but not exactly). i think so too, i have a huge cantonese accent in manderin

  • @MrYamaMsChii Oh. If it is so, you may need to imitate how others speak Mandarin Chinese. Though maybe that may take some time. But if you keep going on for a long time, you will get used to it. Cheer up.

After all, it’s not easy to speak Chinese without any influence from local accent.

  • I am happy I found this video! I hope it will help me learn the basics of Chinese. I am going to meet in husbands family in a few months in Nanjing, China and they do not speak much English and I am horrible at Chinese. Thanks for the tips.

  • @DeMichTrev Hi, glad to hear from you. Just enjoy our video lessons and make progress with us!

  • em. i just applied on the course of learning Chinese, and now i'm starting to regret it. lol.

  • @thebluedot11 Oh, may i know why. You find it too difficult?

  • @MinnaXiao when you first hear about it, yes :)

  • @thebluedot11 Should be. But just keep learning it, it won't be so difficult any more. :)

  • The chinese (who are not native to America) don't have use for the letter "v"....they supplant the "v" with the letter "b"...I love to here them say "libb" instead of "live" or gibb instead of "give". Just like Americans cannot pronounce the chinese word for person which is "ren" (in pinyin). I really need help pronouncing the word "ren" (person in chinese). NO matter how much I try I can't say "ren"! rofl....

  • @pinyinhead Oh, It seems we all make mistakes when we learning a foreign language.

  • @pinyinhead To pronounce “ren”, you need to start from “r”. You can pronounce r like r in road, but with the tongue loosely rolled in the middle of the mouth.

For example: 很热 hěn rè In the final position R is pronounced more like English R.

玩儿 wánr 一点儿 yīdiǎnr (pronounced yīdiǎr) Listening to recordings or listening to the native speakers is the best way to get your sounds right.

  • "greet" pronounce wrong...

  • @gameskyjumper how about uploading a video of yourself speaking a foreign language and we'll check your pronunciation

  • @rds769 Haha. You are so nice and understanding! No arguements~

  • @gameskyjumper oh, sorry about that. But I hope this video could help you learn Chinese.

  • The teacher has a wide nose that can hold a lot of boogers.

  • @BobLeKatt Sorry about that. It could be the problem of the video.

  • Are there any good nude beaches in China?

  • @BobLeKatt You may search online. Good luck to you~

  • thank you so mush can you tell me how to thax someone in chinese..? plz

  • @TheZombehunter Hi, You may say "谢谢!(Xiexie!)" or "谢谢你! (Xiexie ni!)"

  • 你好!

Thanks a lot for this. This is so much better than the english courses :)

I want to ask if you can ask 你性? when it's not a more important person.

  • @Vojife I mean 姓 =D

  • @Vojife Yes.:)

  • @Vojife “你性” should be "你姓?"。 Or you can say "请问你姓什么?"

  • @TerraEvolution Good suggestions. Speaking and reading can be improved at the same time.

  • @TerraEvolution Hi yes. We use punctuations in Chinese sentences. May I know what you want to know about punctuations?

  • @ Borovickar

    Hi~

Chinese Pinyin may be a little bit complicated at first, but when you master it, you will be able to speak Chinese. Is it amazing? If you still find it really hard to learn, how about learning some popular Chinese phrases, like Ni zhen bang! (You are awesome!) You may find these short video lessons on the account of 【eChineseOnline】. Hope you will enjoy them.

  • I am respecting old chinese culture but forgive me now, chinese alphabet (those symbols) ... it is just crazy stuff, it so complicated ... I am done. :)

  • @Borovickar I suggest you to learn to speak chinese and read chinese symbols at the same time and then to learn how to write in chinese You can do it!
